Georgia appeals court agrees to review ruling allowing Fani Willis to stay on Trump election case

ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia appeals court on Wednesday agreed to review a lower court ruling allowing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to continue to prosecute the election interference case she brought against former President Donald Trump.

The move seems likely to delay the case and is the second time in as many days that the former president has gotten a favorable ruling that could push any future trials beyond the November election, when he is expected to be the Republican nominee for president. A day earlier, the judge in his Florida classified documents case indefinitely postponed that trial date.

Pennsylvania's state House of Representatives on Wednesday approved legislation aimed at regulating how online social media platforms interact with children, although its provisions are similar to those in state laws being blocked in federal courts or in a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

The bill passed nearly along party lines, 105-95, with 10 Republicans voting with most Democrats for it and seven Democrats voting with most Republicans against it.

It faces an uncertain future in the Republican-controlled state Senate, and the nation's highest...

The Biden administration plans to propose a new rule Thursday aimed at speeding up the asylum claims process for some migrants — a potential prelude to broader actions from President Joe Biden later this year that would impose a bigger crackdown at the border.

It's meant to affect migrants with criminal records or those who would otherwise be eventually deemed ineligible for asylum in the United States. The proposal, which the Department of Homeland Security plans to announce on Thursday, was confirmed by four people familiar with its contents who...

President Biden acknowledged on Wednesday that Israel had used American bombs to kill civilians in Gaza and warned that he would not supply artillery shells and other weapons if Israel moved forward with a long-threatened ground offensive in southern Gaza.

In an interview with CNN, Mr. Biden said the United States would still ensure Israel’s defenses, including the Iron Dome. But he said he would block the delivery of weapons that could be fired into the urban areas of Rafah if the assault goes forward.

Former President Donald Trump called on House Republicans to not vote in favor of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., saying "this is not the time" to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday killed an effort by Greene and Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., to vote on vacating the chair.

Green appeared to catch most Congressional watchers by surprise when she moved to force a vote on her motion to vacate the chair, which should have allowed for the vote.

Though she has been seen in the past touting a MAGA hat in favor of...

The House of Representatives passed a bill Wednesday evening to add a citizenship question to the next U.S. census, with zero Democrats voting in favor.

"If you are an illegal immigrant, you should not be represented in the U.S. Congress," House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., told Fox News Digital after the vote. "It’s a shame that House Democrats are allowing their open-borders agenda to get in the way of common sense."

The legislation is called the Equal Representation Act, led by Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-N.C. In addition to including a question...
