Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

how does one file Bankruptcy 3 times in 10 years?!??!? Holy cow...maybe business ownership isnt exactly her thing?

i thought you could only file 1 time in 7 or 10 years?
Each person can only file 1 time every 10 years, there may be some exceptions. I think that since a corporation is a separate "legal person," a corporation filing bankruptcy doesn't count for the actual person filing the corporate bankruptcies.

I think it's messed up to heck and back.

Unfortunately for her, this isnt going to go well. I suspect she will be on bankruptcy #4 by years end. Vegan eateries operate on RAIL THIN margins. Your demographic is not the general population, its probably 5% of that and im being generous and its not something that would have multiple visits per week by patrons due to the pricing alone.
Yeah, I don't think many MAGA supporters are vegans and I don't think many vegans are keen on MAGA. There's a reason the phrase is "threw red meat" and not threw meat alternatives.

Shana Gray is no Donald Trump.

She was on food stamps at one point ( which she railed against in her diatribe on stage saying " a migrant came in and paid for his food w/ prepaid food card issued by govt " )
That's different. It's always different

She was just an honest 'real' American going through a rough patch not a mooching invader like this guy

This is what gets me about that welfare attitude

If you've been well off your whole life and you view all people on welfare as "moochers" that's one thing (still a bad thing but okay)

But if something happens to you and you now find yourself on welfare you have no greater appreciation or empathy for them or their situation, they are still "moochers" but not you, no sir, you're different

There are people on welfare who still say that they're just going through a rough patch (a years/decade long rough patch, but just a patch)

They are nothing like THOSE people on welfare thank you very much

My right wing siblings hate it when I remind them we were on free lunch after our parents split -- aka, welfare.

Of course, verbatim. In their minds we weren't "freeloaders" (i.e. "black"), we were just "working poor" who needed help for a little while. Which actually describes most people that require government assistance, but never mind that.
the disconnect is pretty amazing

Either they are just as 'bad' as the freeloaders or the freeloaders aren't freeloaders and aren't as bad as they thought, they are just like them working poor who needs a little help - but they can't mentally accept either option

The hoops one must jump through to insist that neither is true "we are good, they are not" is pretty impressive in a way

Some new nonsensical thing to complain about. Like the toilets you have to flush 10 times, or the showers that just drip and have no water. 🤣😂

All this is true, and unfortunately you can't minimize the role of racism and bigotry in the disconnect.

LBJ knew it.

“If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”

do they say "that was different"?
Farb does when he’s talking about euthanizing his grandmother or something.

If someone has a world view that "we" are "superior" and "they" are "inferior," then anything the "superiors" do is good and for good reasons, and anything that the "inferiors" do is bad and for bad reasons, even when the "superiors" and the "inferiors" do the exact same thing.

Sadly, that's the only hoop they have to jump through.
