Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah announced over the weekend he was removing a provision from the Senate's "big, beautiful bill" that would allow the sale of hundreds of thousands of acres of public lands for affordable housing and infrastructure.

"Because of the strict constraints of the budget reconciliation process, I was unable to secure clear, enforceable safeguards to guarantee that these lands would be sold only to American families—not to China, not to BlackRock, and not to any foreign interests," Lee said in a statement announcing the...

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced sweeping charges Monday against more than 300 defendants, alleging they misled patients into paying for, and sometimes receiving, medical care that they did not need.

In turn, DOJ Criminal Division chief Matthew Galeotti said, the defendants also attempted to swindle Medicare and other taxpayer-funded and private health insurance programs out of about $14.6 billion.

The announcement marked the "largest coordinated healthcare fraud takedown in the history of the Department of Justice," Galeotti said during a...

Washington — The U.S. pilots who flew in a bombing mission targeting Iranian nuclear facilities will attend the White House's July 4 celebration this week, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday.

The event is also expected to feature a flyover by B-2 Spirit bombers, the jets that were used to strike Iran's uranium enrichment sites at Fordo and Natanz earlier this month in an operation ordered by President Trump.

Additional personnel from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri — where the bombers are based — will also attend the...

Washington — A federal magistrate judge said Monday that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran man who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador and then was returned to the United States to face criminal charges of human smuggling, will remain in federal custody until at least mid-July.

Abrego Garcia's lawyers had asked the judge Friday to delay his release, warning that the Trump administration had made conflicting statements about whether he will be deported after he is released ahead of a trial.

The brief order from U.S. Magistrate Judge Barbara...

President Donald Trump calls Sen. Thom Tillis' announcement that the two-term Republican senator won't see re-election next year in battleground North Carolina "Great News."

And with Tillis — who Trump torched this past weekend for not supporting his so-called "big, beautiful" spending and tax cut bill in a key test vote — now out of the picture in the midterms, it's likely the president and his political team will be the kingmakers in the selection of the 2026 GOP nominee in North Carolina.

"It’s the president’s choice. The president and his team...

The band Bob Vylan, made up of two musicians with the stage names Bobby Vylan and Bobbie Vylan, is slated to tour the U.S. later in 2025. But the State Department announced Monday it had pulled the visas for the band’s members after the group led chants calling for the end of the Israel Defense Forces.

President Donald Trump is confident that democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani would "crush" New York City if he is elected mayor, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt says.

Leavitt made the statement during a Monday press briefing while fielding multiple questions from reporters about Mamdani's victory in the democratic mayoral primary.

Fox News' White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Leavitt about recent calls for Mamdani to be deported, citing calls from one lawmaker who said Mamdani should be denaturalized.

Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus are warning they have serious issues with the Senate's version of President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" as it's currently written.

The group of GOP rebels argued in a public statement on Sunday that the Senate bill adds $1.3 trillion to the federal deficit, whereas the House-passed bill would increase the federal deficit by $72 billion.

"Even without interest costs, it is $651 billion over our agreed budget framework," the statement read.

The Senate is currently working through the bill and...

A government cybersecurity contractor is being held in jail in Washington, D.C., for driving his Jeep near crowds on the National Mall, in what prosecutors have described as an "absolutely outrageous" crime on June 21.

At a court hearing Monday, prosecutors argued Curtis Lear of Washington, D.C., off-roaded his vehicle onto the grass of the National Mall near hundreds of people, some of whom had to "dodge out of the way."

A federal prosecutor said Lear drove erratically and in circles, forcing "people to run in every direction in terror."...

The latest version of the bill containing President Trump's second term agenda would hobble the renewable energy industry with a new excise tax, in addition to speeding up the sunsetting of tax credits and other benefits.

The additional tax on wind and solar projects, which appeared on page 558 in the version of the bill released over the weekend, is estimated to increase consumer energy prices 8% to 10% and would tax clean energy businesses an additional $4-$7 billion by 2036, according to an analysis by the American Clean Power Association.

President Trump's promise to eliminate taxes on worker tips could soon come to fruition as senators try to iron out the final details of a massive budget package he has dubbed the "big, beautiful bill."

One part of the legislation, the centerpiece of the Trump administration's economic agenda, would provide workers who rely on tips for a large share of their income, such as waiters, bartenders and hairdressers, with relief from federal income tax on those tips.

The White House has framed the tax cuts as a win for the working class. But critics...
