Serious advice for people: get all your vaccinations up to date in the next couple of months. Don’t put off anything right now.

Brush up on food safety - you should probably quit eating packaged salad mixes, and salad mixes at restaurants. Get you a head of lettuce and peel off the outer layers and then wash it good. Don’t eat any produce without thoroughly washing it or cooking it. We have relied on relatively safe food sources for decades, and we are going to see a whole lot of safeguards discontinued.

Buy local if you can, obviously. But most areas will not be able to fill the needs of everyone with local food. We are going to have to be more self-reliant, because there won’t be the kind of protections we are used to from the FDA.

As someone who works with FDA folks, the dismantling of this agency from just a food safety perspective is scary. So much FDA work goes into imports and folks don’t realize a safe global supply chain takes institutions.

Vomit. She has zero diplomatic or executive foreign policy experience.

Dems: Antony Blinken seems like a good choice. He was on NSC for seven years before becoming deputy NSA and deputy Sec. State for years. Senior fellow at a foreign relations think tank. Harvard and Columbia.

Trump: Tulsi Gabbard grew up in Samoa and went to Iraq and Kuwait! She's international as it gets.

Don't get me wrong, she's had an impressive life - overcoming being a community college drop out to a decorated, albeit somewhat brief, Army career and the US House of Representatives. She's clearly a strong, motivated person but apart from a few years on the House Foreign Relations committee, none of her experience actually relates to diplomacy, foreign policy, or foreign affairs.

Elon won’t take OMB, it’s too clerical and not glam enough for him - plus it requires work. He will be some special assistant to the president and head of some task force that will meet and have some big headlines but not actually do shirt.

I think OMB will go to Russell Vought. He was OMB at the end of the last Trump administration and he’s involved with Project 2025 components that have to do with restructuring the federal government . For example, There are about 4k political appointees. Vought wants to make it 20k
