The Trump Cabinet and key post thread

A woefully unqualified Cabinet Secretary! Unfortunately, his mindset has convinced him that he has superior genes and that has prevented him from just doing what he is solely capable of doing which is anchoring Faux Newz Weekends.

Wasting watermelon like that is a mortal sin, and if it was done around my kin, then it's the 8th deadly sin.

If they confirm this Bove butt crevasse it would be a huge middle finger to the country, our system of law and order and our Constitution. He’s that bad.

Stephen Miller is mentally ill. And Trump has given him free rein.

While serving as governor of South Dakota, Kristi Noem received $80,000 from an anonymous donor – significantly boosting her government wage – but later failed to declare it, according to a new report.

Noem, who now heads up the Department of Homeland Security, received the funds from a nonprofit called American Resolve Policy Fund, a so-called dark money group, which is not required to disclose the names of its donors, in 2023.

According to the report by ProPublica, Noem then failed to disclose the payment. After becoming head of the DHS, she released detailed accounting of her assets and sources of income from 2023 on, but still failed to include the sum, which would significantly boost her government wage of $130,000 a year.

Experts told the outlet that such failure is likely to be a violation of federal ethics requirements

The Ethics in Government Act requires high-ranking federal employees to file financial disclosure reports, so as to identify and avoid potential financial conflicts of interest. Failure to properly disclose information can lead to fines, referrals to the U.S. Attorney General, or other disciplinary action.…….

We’ll see if this leads to more high speed accidents
    ==========================

The U.S. Department of Transportation has scrapped a rule mandating speed-limiting devices on heavy-duty trucks, allowing them to race along the nation’s highways at top speed.

The devices in question, also known as governors, place a limit on the maximum speed at which large trucks can travel by preventing their engines from running any faster than a preset number of revolutions per minute.

This typically means they cannot go faster than 55 to 70mph in the interest of safety and improving fuel efficiency.

But their requirement is now being dropped as part of a new DOT package intended to ease conditions for long-haul truckers. It also includes a $275m investment in expanding truck parking spaces and simplifying the wording of federal regulations.

“Mandating speed limiters on heavy-duty trucks isn’t just an inconvenience – it is a safety hazard when drivers are forced to go slower than the flow of traffic,” the DOT said in a statement announcing the package.

“The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration [FMCSA] and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are withdrawing a joint rulemaking that proposed to require speed-limiting devices on heavy vehicles.…….

President Donald Trump has nominated a 30-year-old with little government experience — as well as a connection to a well-known Holocaust denier — to lead the independent agency that protects whistleblowers.

Paul Ingrassia, nominated by Trump in May to lead the Office of Special Counsel, has a history of racist language and promoting conspiracy theories, including denying the Holocaust, according to a new report from

The Office of Special Counsel was created after the Watergate scandal and intended to be politically independent to protect whistleblowers from retaliation and end government and political corruption.

Previous heads overseeing the office of about 140 people have included longtime prosecutors or other federal employees, including former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who led the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election………

I didn’t realize that Hegseth paused shipments to Ukraine all by himself without Trump’s knowledge. How many screw ups does this guy get?

I think it's possible that Hegseth might be taking the bullet for Trump, because Trump's taking on a lot of heat for a lot of other things. Trump and his entire administration have shown they will lie to protect Trump.

Why do Republicans hate the mere idea of having "subject matter experts" serving in government? This persistent brain drain of government employees doe no on any good, it just puts the entire nation in danger.
