This just illustrates why lawyers for Fox were able to successfully defend Tucker by claiming no reasonable person expects to get facts from him.

How are people fooled by this? The minute I saw the fake claim on social media that the “windmills are all frozen” I was skeptical. There are windmills all over the North. It just didn’t make sense.

I can't wait to hear the excuse that butt crevasse comes back with. Over/under of the press corps waiting for him. Does TSA allow the press to boarding gates?

Oh, it gets better. Dude asked for a police escort at the airport. You can see the officer in several of the pictures.

Ward, did you see the insane electric bills some consumers may be getting in TX? I don’t pretend to understand the way they have structured their utilities, and I don’t know if this was a reliable source, but I saw a report that it will be possible for consumers to get high bills for the companies issues. They are allowed to pass on the cost of the damages directly or something. It was said people could get electric bills over $1000 when this is over. I would like to see more reporting on that, I don’t remember now where I saw it.
I didn't see them, but that's what my boss was saying. he got nailed with a $700 bill. And he's a well educated, smart guy who tried to pay attention to the options he had and plans, or whatever. And he's of the opinion, Seniors would have no hope there. Electric must be insane there. I guess I never asked my friends who live there.

Of course, we have posters here who live in Texas and can speak on this much more intelligently than me trying to get second hand info.

Fukashima has nothing to do with our dislike of nuclear power - Chernobyl in 1986 definitely does, but even more so the fact that Sweden build a nuclear powerplant less than 20 miles from our capital (since closed after major protests from our government)

Fact is, that as a small country we simply do not have anywhere to put such a plant and still have a "safe distance" to major population areas.
One of the reasons I love “Occupied” so much is the subplot of pan-European energy concerns

If that came to pass, then the Democrats would have to be barking mad not to make HUGE political capital out of it when the next senate elections roll around ?

It wouldn't matter in the general. Texas isn't electing a Democrat to the Senate. A Republican primary challenger might be able to leverage it, but Cruz has spread eagle wide enough for Trump that he'd have his support in a primary so there's really nothing that can stop him from winning re-election. That's why he can feel confident to fly to Cancun on vacation while people in his state are literally freezing to death.

I'm almost 100% sure no. They have to wait outside the security checkpoints. Only ticketed passengers and special assistance are allowed. But it's been a while so not sure if that's changed since I last traveled.

He says his daughters asked to go to Cancun because his house lost heat and water and their school was cancelled. He was “being a good dad” by accompanying them. Lol.

His wife was there too, she couldn’t “accompany” them? Plus his office had previously said this was a “long-planned” trip. A source at the airline told a reporter that the original ticket was to return on Saturday, just changed to today at 6 AM this morning. He thinks the people of TX are stupid.

Maybe this will make a difference for the ones who have voted for him repeatedly.

Instead of just saying "gosh, I shouldn't have done that, my bad," he decides to lie? Man.

He needs to be ruthlessly dragged over this like he did about every one of his colleagues who did much less. Like there isn't proof that he was scheduled to return Saturday and the change was made at 6 this morning.

It's wild that he is blaming his daughters. They just all of a sudden decided to go to Mexico, and Heidi couldn't keep them safe on an airplane alone, so Ted had to go with them, just so that he could return on the next available flight the next day. Just as planned. Will he be flying to the Mexico airport on Saturday to ride the plane home with them? Or are they safe this time?

People in Texas are dying because they have no power or water and it is below freezing. Their houses aren’t insulated as well as those in the north, they often don’t have experience how to survive in the cold, they are elderly or sick and vulnerable. I saw where a phone bank of volunteers had found an elderly man who hadn’t eaten in two days, living alone, and got a volunteer to pick him up and take him to a warming station and get him some food. How many more will have been missed? How many more like him will be discovered dead in their houses when this is over? I saw another person say their neighbor had decided to walk to the local convenience store and come across a woman frozen dead on the sidewalk.

Separate observation, Ted Cruz left for a vacation in Cancun yesterday. Beto has been organizing said phone banks, or at least publicizing them. He has been publicizing places for people to get help and raising awareness for the people of TX. Texas made a stupid choice for their Senate race a few years ago. They elected someone who participated in a Big Lie enthusiastically and helped foment an insurrection. Someone who doesn’t care about his constituents, clearly.

    But their now frozen guns...
