This just illustrates why lawyers for Fox were able to successfully defend Tucker by claiming no reasonable person expects to get facts from him.

How are people fooled by this? The minute I saw the fake claim on social media that the “windmills are all frozen” I was skeptical. There are windmills all over the North. It just didn’t make sense.

I can’t speak for Dave, but I was active duty Army for 5 years and I see his point.

Speaking to the general public in uniform discussing a media personality isn’t something an officer or Senior NCO would do without running it up their chain of command.

It isn’t even about whether or not the statement is controversial. When guys at his level say anything in uniform they know they are speaking for the service.

I’m sure he had the support of the pentagon.

You said it much better than I did. Exactly. :9:

I suspect he does have support of the Pentagon. I'm sure it wouldn't stay up very long if that wasn't the case.

Well, considering that what Carlson said was a disgusting attack on military women, who last I checked are actually part of the military, I can see that there would possibly be official support for his statement. Also the Marine didn’t even name Tucker, or say anything against him other than saying it was drama done for effect (for ratings), and that Tucker has never put on a uniform. Both of these are objective facts. 🤷‍♀️

I appreciate the perspective from former service members and government employees though, thanks, guys.

Since we don't have a thread dedicated to just Right Wing Media Lies, I'll leave this short response to Tucker Carlson's view on women in the military here. He sure pissed off a lot of people last night it seems.

Maybe we can edit the thread title and cut off the part about the weather in TX and just use it for all major Pinnochios put out there for millions to parrot the following day.

Dude, you see his wife deadlifting 305lbs? I bet Tucker couldn't do that. haha.

    That was crazy.

I also find it interesting that He's the Senior Enlisted Leader of the US Space Command and not "Space Force".

    :hmm:

I gotta believe that that stupid name will be tossed and everything will go back to normal considering their was no real change in their mission the only thing that really changed was the name.

I agree with the sentiment. But, they're really strict about messaging, even about things that to most citizens would be seemingly benign. If you're making a public statement as a service member, you better have approval before you do it.

That said, I'm sure this guy had his ducks in a row before making his statement.
