This just illustrates why lawyers for Fox were able to successfully defend Tucker by claiming no reasonable person expects to get facts from him.

How are people fooled by this? The minute I saw the fake claim on social media that the “windmills are all frozen” I was skeptical. There are windmills all over the North. It just didn’t make sense.

Well, if all the gasoline-powered cars switched to electricity, you'd need to have a very significant increase in power generation and distribution to power all of those car batteries. Where will it come from ?

This is why you make these changes over a 20 or 30 year period and not all at once. If we would have started in the 90's we would have been ahead of this or at least able to keep up.

Of course if we replace all cars with electric ones tomorrow then we have a problem

No problem at all. Carry on expanding the wind turbine farms and - for the quick fix - build LOTS of nuclear power stations. If for no other reason to give the environmentalists sleepless nights !! (nuclear power BAD .. but... virtually zero carbon production. Which is GOOD. Aaaargh.. bad AND good. Head explodes).

Yeah.. nuclear bad and unnecesary...but as barbar said - the US is behind most of the world when it comes to renewable energy. It takes time to build the necessary infrastructure and coal and oil have invested a lot of money in political goodwill for many years.

You would think after the last 4 years they would be sick of pushing nonsense. It must be exhausting to basically need to constantly lie.
The more frustrating part is that their voters eat that shirt up without any hesitation, that is why I believe it's not frustrating for them to lie, it's super easy...barely an inconvenience!

They don't even have to keep the lies straight. Their voters don't care. As long as it's their team in control it doesn't matter to them at all.

It's pathetic really. And their projection onto those they consider enemies of doing exactly what they do on a daily basis is now the party platform too. People eat it up too. As long as it keeps their team in power and hurts the other team, yay for whatever crock they have to eat that day.

The only way to stop it is for political gerrymandering to be made illegal which we're now decades away from seeing with the hundreds of federal judgeships and the SCOTUS seats Trump/McConnell filled.

Northern Indiana is loaded with windmills. Right now we have about a foot and a half of snow on the ground and the temperature hasn't been above freezing for weeks. If this weather were an issue, they would not put them here.

Lol, Pitch Meeting reference!! My wife got me a T-shirt with Super Easy! Barely and Inconvenience on it.

so, after reading a bit more, this is exactly what sandman said in the very first page. TX GOP deregulated their power companies to the point where preparation for this type of cold, or winterizing in general, was optional. So, since it costs money to winterize, they didn’t do it because they didn’t have to. Natural gas, coal, wind and solar power operates just fine all over the north. It’s not the type of power that is to blame. They have all failed in TX, a deadly failure of governing by the GOP.

The GOP is lying because the truth points to them, it was their policy. So they would rather blame AOC and the GND, which is still an idea, not even in existence. It should be just painfully obvious to anyone. People who believe this deflection are just overwhelmingly stupid. Or they don’t care about truth, like at all.

Well, the failures in TX spread South, as the gas pipelines into MX are frozen, so they have rolling blackouts in many States. At first, they scheduled rolling blackouts in12 Northern States, but MX being MX and the CFE being the CFE (CFE is the national power company) the blackouts extended to an additional 11 other States.

More nuclear is absolutely necessary as of right now. If China and the US were as advanced as the EU in renewables, MAYBE we'd be able to cut emissions as needed without it. But its too late now.

Anyway, no one has successfully supplied 100% of their power thru solar and wind alone (to my knowledge at least, and I like to keep up to date on this.) The "renewables" that aren't weather dependent, i.e. hydroelectric and biofuel, are not clean solutions. Biofuel is literally just burning wood, and hydroelectric causes all kinds of destruction of ecosystems. They are debateably ecologically worse than nuclear. Geothermal may be the only fully reliable renewable with no major environmental impact, but it so far has not been scaleable.

Carbon capture also needs to continue to be researched and developed. In a perfect world, if it weren't for the emissions, and preventable leaks and disasters, fossil fuels would be the ideal energy source. It is just highly efficient fuel that just sits underground until you need it. If we put an honest effort into making it work, I think it has a lot of potential.

    Tucker Carlson unironically thinks so
    ===========================

......"The news media are profoundly dishonest. All of us lie from time to time — that's the human condition. But imagine if lying was your job. Imagine forcing yourself to tell lies all day about everything in ways that were so transparent and so outlandish that there is no way that people listening to you could possibly believe anything you said," Tucker said with a straight face.

"Then imagine doing that again and again and again every day of your professional life for your entire life. Could you do that? If you could, CNN has an opening on the media analysis desk. Call them immediately."

    Tucker kept going.

"But if you're a non-sociopathic normal person, the answer obviously is no you could not do that. You could never lie like that. So you've got to kind of respect the people who can, They're like Olympians in reverse. They achieve feats so dishonorable that you gasp and horror as you watch them. But at the same time, you've got to respect those skills."..............
