Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

They have been trained by the corporate media to smear anyone who is in or supports a populist movement by comparing the movement to Hitler.

Current populist movements are endangering the elites running the countries into the ground on the backs of the citizens. Populist movements want to put the power back in the hands of the citizens and that's why there is an effort by the elites world wide to try to smear and stop any populist movements.
So much delusion here. Just for starters - explain how you think Trump has evidenced that he cares about working people. Not statements, but acts that evidence he cares for working people.

Was it when he structured his tax cuts so that 70-80% of the savings went to the elites and corporations? And when he structured the tax cuts so that the cuts for the middle class expired, but the cuts for corporations and elites were permanent? When part of the tax cut expressly included huge tax breaks for buying yachts and private planes?

Was it when none of his tax cuts were paid for by budget cuts, thus increasing our national debt more than any other president in history, saddling future generations of taxpayers?

Was it when he evidences disdain for unions, as he did last night? When he took actions against unions back when he actually tried to build things?

Critical thinking. We desperately need people to be able to think critically these days, and not be swayed by propaganda and slogans.

Despite the late start, it seemed to be a success. This is exactly what the left and even the EU didn't want to happen. Millions of people getting to hear a long conversation with Trump without the corporate media being able to filter it though their Democrat lense.

The Washington Post definitely didn't want the conversation to happen.

The EU threatened Musk beforehand. Stop and think why these people don't even want someone to be able to hear Trump speak to the audience on X.

That's the thing about these kinds of movements, whether they call themselves National Socialists, National Chauvinists, Peasant Populists or whatever. Whenever the government sets up an "Us and a Them" within the country, the Us gets smaller and smaller, the Them gets bigger and bigger and it's not long before the Us start killing Them in order to "Keep the peace" or "Purge the impure" or whatever they call it.
Now I've got a Saints-style "Us vs. Them" Kamala vs. Trump playing in my head with Trombone Shorty's Hurricane Season as the background music.

The corporate media serves their ratings. They identify a demographic they want to appeal to and then give that demographic what they want to hear.

It's not rocket science, it's tiddlywinks.
That's a small part of it. Largely the corporate media serves the elites and pushes or suppresses any information that could help or harm the elites interests.

Because he's a threat to peace and a source of unfettered disinformation that's intended to divide Americans?

LOL it "seemed" - to you. Of course it did.

it was a disaster. and there are posts all over this board that show it. Nuclear warming LOLOLOL.

But the BEST will be his words of fondness when they spoke about workers striking and how Musk just tells them "dont come back" - Trump just alienated the UAW and upper rust belt.

    Success indeed.

    for the Democrats.

Who are the elites? Why do I keep voting for their well being? What do they get with rights to have abortions, transgender care, gun laws, tax breaks for the middle class, global warming legislature?

The part with Trump being a regular guy and cheering Elon about firing workers on strike who wanted better wages.

there was a reason he wouldn't talk about solar power when Elon brought it up. then he rants about nuclear warming.... lol

Both the UAW and AFL-CIO Twitter accounts were up with tweets highlighting that little tidbit within minutes.

Millions of people got to hear him in a long conversation. That's a success.

People can decide if they liked the conversation, did or didn't like some things that were said, but to act like it was a failure because people who already hated Trump didn't like it doesn't mean much to the people who listened.

Elon didn’t release view times. If you think 60 million people watched two hours of him talking you are delusional.
