As we head toward the summer and the National Party Conventions, it might be handy to have a thread focused on the upcoming matchup of current President Biden vs Former President Trump.
As of April 28,2024 , CNN's poll shows Trump leading. Yet polls are not always accurate and they are constantly changing.
Feel free to use this thread for all things relating to Biden vs Trump.

To the dismay of Democrats, blue-collar voters have lined up increasingly behind Donald Trump, but political experts say Joe Biden can still turn things around with that large and pivotal group by campaigning hard on “kitchen table” economic issues.

With just six months to go until the election, recent polls show that Trump has stronger support among blue-collar Americans than he did in 2020. But several political analysts told the Guardian that Biden can bring back enough of those voters to win if he hammers home the message that he is helping Americans on pocketbook issues – for instance, by canceling student debt and cutting insulin prices.

According to Celinda Lake, a pollster for the Democratic National Committee, Biden needs to talk more often and more effectively about how his policies mean “real benefits” for working families and how he’s battling on their behalf against “villains” like greedy pharmaceutical companies.

“We need to have a dramatic framing that we’re going to take on villains to make the economy work for you and your family,” said Lake, who did polling for Biden’s 2020 campaign. “The villains can be a lot of things – corporations that don’t pay any taxes or drug companies that make record profits while they gouge you on prices.”……..

    I'm getting a bribe-like vibe

At the dinner, he vowed to immediately reverse dozens of President Biden’s environmental rules and policies and stop new ones from being enacted, according to people with knowledge of the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a private conversation.

Giving $1 billion would be a “deal,” Trump said, because of the taxation and regulation they would avoid thanks to him, according to the people

LOL... he got called out bigly...

we all know it is fake (well, except for the MAGA's) but even so, rally attendance doesn't win an election, example 2020..lol
probably half the people at his rallies can't or don't vote..

I'll admit i've never been to New Jersey, but does Jersey have Mountains like that on the coast?

Good source. It's more difficult for the people who debate you to criticize you or dismiss this.
The RCP average of polls relies on flawed polls which is why the RCP also has not been a reliable indicator in the past 2 election cycles.

Having said that, "if the election were held today" is a stupid and useless perspective. The election will not be held today. So, even if they RCP is an accurate indicator of today, it's a useless indicator for election day in November.

Also, not a single toss up state? Really? Not a single one? Did the pollsters sleep through the 2016 and 2020 elections? That they don't have a single toss up state, makes it highly unlikely the RCP average of polls is an accurate indication of current voter leanings.

The desperation of Trump's devotees is going in to overdrive causing them to reach emotional conclusions instead of logical conclusions.

Note: I got RCP and the FiveThirtyEight average of polls mixed up. I'm leaving my mistake as is to be upfront. What I said is also true of RCP's polling.

Polls are not an actual election and their educated guesses have been wrong more often than right in elections since 2016.

Hi, Steve. No, it’s actually not a good source. The sense of panic from GOP pollsters can be seen by the ever-more-desperate polling which is putting out a fantasy where Trump wins all the states. RCP hasn’t been a good source for a good while now. Very slanted.
