As we head toward the summer and the National Party Conventions, it might be handy to have a thread focused on the upcoming matchup of current President Biden vs Former President Trump.
As of April 28,2024 , CNN's poll shows Trump leading. Yet polls are not always accurate and they are constantly changing.
Feel free to use this thread for all things relating to Biden vs Trump.

Certain people have repeatedly told me that this is the place for an exchange of ideas and open discussion. So I care if people think yesterday's events 1) Hurt Trump's chance to win 2) Will have no effect on his chance to win 3) Increased the likelihood of his chance of winning.

The same sizable amount of Americans who did not realize the reality of Joe Biden until the debate....that same block of people will not care about what you just pointed out. They are not MAP FORUM people. Yesterday's tragic lose of a 50 year old firefighter and the image of Trump's bloody ear will emotionally impact many people. The independent voters will by and large not have the hatred for Republicans that you seem to have...and they will focus more on the recent events ( the debate and the rally) more than they will reflect back on Jan 2021. This is my unemotional opinion that will likely make some of YOU emotional....if that materializes, it could be because you fear my Viewpoint might be correct.

people have short attention spans, which is why the Hillary email thing had to come out right before the election for it to effective.
it's still 4 months away, Trump has plenty of time up sabotage himself.
this didn't deflect the RvW problem most Republicans are having right now.. the more the Rs talk about extremism with Abortion and birth control and IVF people will not care about what happened yesterday..
especially the more and more conspiracy theories the crazy right will throw out there over this administration attempt, they will sour people with it..

They don’t. There will be no consequences for spreading conspiracy theories. In fact, it will be encouraged. We already know this kid was a Republican with conservative leanings, and the GOP spent all of yesterday saying that Biden and Dems did it. Why would expect any reason from them?

Nobody will even acknowledge that they got it wrong when they accused the shooter of being a Dem.

I cannot believe what my conservative friends and family are all saying today. Trump was already their new Jesus, and now he is a living martyr. Why they think Trump fights for them I have no clue.

It's pathetic, but that's how it is. Lucky for me I don't live in the USA anymore. Watching you guys run the country into the ground from afar is depressing, but at least it has no real impact on my life.

I don’t think anyone who wasn’t already a Trump supporter will be moved by this. There will be a little temporary bump in the polls, but that was going to happen anyway due to the convention this week.

He’s already made fun of the shooter on the golf course, according to an employee who heard him. He won’t be able to stop being vile, and his policies are the same.

Also the shooter was a registered Republican, it’s hard to play martyr when it is your own party shooting at you.
