Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/17/sup...y-that-refuses-to-work-with-lgbt-couples.html

    • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
    • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

My daughter went to HS with a male who wore long skirts every day. Nothing trans or gay about him at all, he just wanted to be different. The boy you are talking about didn’t go into the girls bathroom to use the facilities. He went in there to meet up with a girl - it was their regular spot to have sex at the school.

The school board hasn’t been proven to be corrupt and ideological. Unless you read and believe lies. But you do that so I can see where you would be confused.
I know a dude that wears a skirt thingy. He is not gay or trans either. Not sure of the point.
Would you agree that coed bathrooms are not a good idea if that is where teens, in school would go to 'hook up'?
Well, the grand jury found several including the super to be guilty and charged, so I would call that corrupt since they tried to cover it up.

Once again: GENDER ≠ SEXUALITY. Your framing is dishonest and insulting.
How you feel if an adult talked to your kid about their genitals and told them to not tell their parents? better?

I wasn't comparing them, but, at their core, the purpose of both was to spread religion and obtain financial gain by force.

By all means. They can more than afford the PMCs

The U.S. Marshals (Ruby Ridge) and the ATF (Waco) presented bench warrants and were shot at. How do you expect things to go down?

Ruby Ridge, the Marshals had a bench warrant to arrest Randy Weaver for failure to appear in court. They got there, and while surveying the property, they were shot at and a Marshal was killed. What do you expect to happen after that?
Inregards to the crusades, they were not about conquest especially religious conquest. Were they about protecting religion sure, but not spreading it.

As for Ruby Ridge, I just don't think 2 illegally short shotguns are grounds for the federal government to shoot your son, dog and wife (unarmed) on your own property because you did show up to your court date. It was during the militia craze around the area so maybe they should have just used tactical nukes.

What were the Waco folks doing that was so critical to the publics safety as to warrant that type of reaction? I can't think of any, I don't care how crazy they were.

That bathroom wasn’t coed. The name on the door isn’t going to stop students from using bathrooms to hookup, clearly. There should be clear consequences for having sex on school grounds, but the idea that allowing a trans student to use the bathroom they want to use promotes students having sex in bathrooms just isn’t supported.

You said the raper was trans because he wore a skirt. I was just pointing out that doesn’t mean anything. That was the point.

You also said he was trans because he used the girls bathroom, and I pointed out that he didn’t go in there to use the bathroom, he went in there because it was his usual hookup spot with the girl where they usually had sex.

Not better. Somehow, everything you say is worse than the thing before. It's actually kind of impressive.

There are 'experts' that believe the bible should be taught in schools. Do you consider their view legitimate? No, you don't. So it turns out, you only believe the 'experts' when they already agree with your stance. Common but you need to be honest about it.
    Lol. What experts?

Also, I took a class on the Bible in college. It is taught in proper context. It was a really good course and I learned a lot.

So, Catholic warmongers in Palestine killing Saracens in the name of Jesus while raping an pillaging on their way there, that's "protecting religion".... cool.

When your dog attacks officers and your son shoots at officers, well...

Religious cultist whackadoos piling up illegal guns... you tell me what was so critical to the public safety.
There were also the allegations of child abuse and rape. Don't you want the police to investigate allegations of child abuse and rape?

A teacher walked in and saw them. There was a push to open the bathrooms to all who think they are whatever sex, so, yes, they were going to be co-ed. That is why the assault was swept away and another happened by the same thug. So in essence, female students were left vulnerable for the sake of a trans bathroom policy they were trying to squeeze through.
Why do you think girls desire to have a safe space from men to change/use the bathroom?
Do you think we have a problem with a rape culture in this country?

It is. It is what helped established the civilization you live in today.

There are plenty of experts that think bringing a basic biblical (don't let he word scare you, it just means moral) basis back into school would be a good thing for our children.

The only problem with that is that a biblical moral foundation goes against the current war on the west as it seeks to install peoples loyalty and service to something greater than themselves.

What prompted the 1st crusade? Would you agree, at the very minimum that the Islamic conquest of Jerusalem was the cause? You have to remember that Jerusalem and all of the middle east were majority Christian, until the Islamic invasion.

Who fired first on private property, either one, Waco or RR?

Do you consider a siege to be an investigation? Yeah, they were cultist. Is that illegal? Did they ever find out for sure if there stockpiles of weapons and if there was child abuse? (In my mind having a kid on a cultist compound is child abuse but I don't think in order to fix that, the state should murder the kids either).

    Thankfully, that's illegal.

What a bunch of complete poppycock. You and/or the Christian faith are not being targeted. What is happening is that people no longer want to be ruled by you (your specific religion) and it makes you feel like you’re being discriminated against.

There is a complete and comprehensive moral basis in society without using any specific religion thank you very much. Almost every religion seeks to value service to others. Get over your bias. You’re being led astray by some very unChristian people and values.

And noted that you decline to name any of these so-called experts.

You don't know what my stance is. Actually, I do think the bible should be taught in school at some point because it's an important part of our literature. Just like Huck Finn n word included, Shakespeare, etc., etc., should be taught in school. But, the bible should be taught as literature.

When looking at the right wing in this country, the proof that the bible actually teaches morals is scant. No group pushes the bible more and yet is more bereft of morals than Republicans.
