It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

What about the "brown folks" that are naturalized citizens? Will they have to carry around their naturalization papers in addition to the their state ID's so they can present them to anyone that challenge them because of the way they look or sound?

Officers from the neighboring Brunswick Police Department responded to the bar for a disturbance, but when they arrived, they found the man on the ground being held by the two agents. The man identified himself as a truck driver from Texas and an Ethiopian immigrant.
Brunswick officers ran the truck driver's identification, which came back with no issues. The trucker told police that he's been in America for 14 years and is a U.S. citizen. The driver added that he was just having a drink when the federal agents approached him and accused him of being in the country illegally.

I am not quite as worried as you. Maybe I have a little more faith in the system. Perhaps that’s naive on my part. I will note that many of these same concerns existed in his first term and didn’t come to pass. You may not believe there are guardrails but I believe they are there.

A number of things did happen. Off the top of my head:
The removal of federal protection for abortion, and the ramifications it's had beyond abortion in women's healthcare.
The "war" on net neutrality.
The damage the U.S. education system incurred while Betsy DeVos pretended to be Secretary of Education.

Then there is the normalization of religious zealots trying to impose their religion via laws and acts, the spread of anti-science ideologies based on partisan politics...

Then there is the GOP's "dear leader" behavior... I still don't get why Republicans feel they need to kiss Trump's arse the way they kiss his arse... this idea that you cannot disagree with the President lest you be declared pariah and shun by every Republican, that is dangerous.

And it is obvious that many of the people being hired aren't "reliable" conservatives for the positions they ae being appointed to. I don’t pretend to know why he hired them. The theory put forward is that he hired them because he intends to fully implement P25 which supposedly he secretly supports. Your theory is just as likely. Maybe more so. Often that’s why folks get hired in politics.

Change is what people voted for. I guess they are tired of what they believe is ineffective government. We have a polarized electorate with 1/3 on the extreme left, 1/3 on the extreme right and 1/3 somewhere in the middle who don’t or won’t associate themselves with either party preferring to call themselves independents. Lots of game playing going on.

So maybe it’s time to question what government is doing and why. We have a ballooning debt problem. I think questioning the status quo can be a good thing. We can’t keep kicking the can down the road. That said, I get it makes people uncomfortable; especially those in the minority. Had Harris won, Republicans and conservatives would have been just as uncomfortable I can assure you.

Not sure why I responded to your post because I should have known that the response above would be like you never read it in the 1st place….that’s ok, won’t make that mistake again….
