It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

I think it’s an apples to oranges analogy. you are attempting to equate the running of the federal government, the largest bureaucracy in the country with a multi trillion dollar budget, with running a professional sports franchise. Big difference.

So my answer to your sports analogy is that I don’t really care. It’s a BS analogy. Therefore irrelevant in my opinion.

You are either too scared to answer or too ignorant to understand the point being made. Either way, that's sad.

Oh I get the point. But that is not how government works. It’s not that simple. So if that concept is over your head then that’s your problem. I’m not going waste time on BS sports analogies. If you find that sad then that’s also your problem. Not mine.

The President is not an owner. He is one part of a system of government with three coequal branches. Your analogy demonstrates a lack of understanding of how our republic works. Now THATS sad.

I have not read it either but I have read about it. So yeah it can be true. I could also probably speculate and say there are things I might agree with in the document and further speculate that there are also things I won’t agree with. It’s a long document from what I’ve heard and covers many points.

There are many “think tanks” out there. They produce all kinds of proposals. Do all Dems “completely” support every idea from every liberal think tank? I doubt it. The same can reasonably be said for Republicans.

You can read into Trumps statement what you choose. That’s your “opinion” of what is in his head. That doesn’t make your opinion a “fact” nor does it make it true. You have no way of knowing what truly is in his head unless you are a mind reader. I never met one and I kinda doubt you can pull that off. All we can “know” is what he actually does. I will judge him based on his actions and not on what somebody claims he’s thinking.
I believe Trump hasn’t read much of Project 2025, because he isn’t a reader. However it is naive to think he won’t try to implement most of it, because of the people that are in charge. His VP wrote the foreward, so he has probably read it. Much of Trump’s agenda mirrors Project 2025. Trump lies about everything, so nothing he says can be believed, so I don’t believe him when he said he doesn’t intend to implement Project 2025. All we can do is make deductions from his actions, and his hires imply that he will be guided by Project 2025.

Just like every opinion you have had for the past 10+ years is irrelevant.

A GM isn't an owner either. And the size of the organizations doesn't matter. Allow me to spell it out for you since you seem to be too ignorant to understand.

The point of the analogy is to compare words to actions. When words and actions don't match, you should always trust their actions reflect their true thoughts. When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

Law enforcement officials in Lincoln county, Oregon, have condemned an anonymous letter encouraging residents to track down and report “brown people” in the Pacific coast community, particularly those believed to be undocumented.

The letter, titled brown round-up part 1, told recipients to write down the license plate numbers of cars driven by people of color in order to identify people who might not have permanent legal status, the New York Times reported.

It instructed readers to send that information to the Department of Homeland Security after Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“This type of behavior is harmful, divisive, and inconsistent with the values we uphold as public servants and community members,” Curtis Landers said in a statement about the letter.

“Targeting individuals in this manner erodes trust and undermines the sense of safety and inclusion that we strive to maintain in Lincoln County.”

The sheriff urged community members to “do the right thing” and approach such messages with compassion,” and he strongly advised against engaging in activities outlined in the letter.

Landers emphasized his office’s commitment to diversity, equity and Oregon law regarding immigration enforcement, which bans collecting or sharing information based on demographic or perceived immigration status.

“Our mission is to enhance public safety, reduce the fear and impact of crime, and improve the quality of life for all,” the sheriff said.

“Diversity strengthens our communities, and we take pride in growing and thriving alongside the people we serve.”

Susan Wahlke, the Lincoln City mayor, said she too had received the letter, according to news station KATU 2. So did the mayor of Toledo and Toledo’s city councilors.

Landers said he received it in his personal mailbox last week. “I believe that has something to do with, you know, President Trump taking over in January because the letter referenced basically the largest immigration sweep,” he told the news station.……

I have no doubt he will attempt to implement some of what has been proposed. Those are conservative ideas and he claims to be a conservative so it’s reasonable to assume that we will see conservative policy proposals. That happens when government administration shifts from one party to another.

I doubt Trump is guided by anything but Trump.

I don’t disagree. You should have lead with that.

My point is equally as simple. Trump has said many times he hasn’t read the document. He has also said there are things in there he doesn’t like. That may or may not be true. What you think he will or will not do is purely speculative. It’s opinion. It may happen and it may not. Further, the size and complexity of the organization does matter. We just had an administration that had the House and the Senate for its first two years and that President didn’t and couldn’t get everything he wanted. The next President won’t either. Our government isn’t engineered to operate that way. It’s all politics and it involves and calls for the cooperation of politicians who answer to their constituents.

There is nothing in Project 2025 that is conservative. There is plenty that is reactionary, religionist and dangerous to a multitude of American citizens.

The rest of your statement is your “opinion” and thus is worthless.

I never claimed what I posted to be anything other than my opinion. Feel free to value it as you choose. Agree or disagree with it as you like. That’s okay by me Bird.

There's nothing conservative about P25. I'm a lifelong conservative and I don't recognize the traditional conservative principles I grew up with anymore.

And Trump being guided by anything but Trump is precisely what makes him dangerous. He has no guardrails and no filter.

Elections have consequences as they say.

I am not quite as worried as you. Maybe I have a little more faith in the system. Perhaps that’s naive on my part. I will note that many of these same concerns existed in his first term and didn’t come to pass. You may not believe there are guardrails but I believe they are there.

There are guardrails for sure and I hope they hold up but I think it’s important to keep in mind that as bad as the folks were in his administration before, attempting to “lead” critical departments of the government, the folks in this incoming admin are mostly wholly unqualified and they don’t want to lead, they want to destroy (destroy the administrative state, whatever that means to you, I know what it means to me)….there are no adults left in the room this go round IMO…..

Change is what people voted for. I guess they are tired of what they believe is ineffective government. We have a polarized electorate with 1/3 on the extreme left, 1/3 on the extreme right and 1/3 somewhere in the middle who don’t or won’t associate themselves with either party preferring to call themselves independents. Lots of game playing going on.

So maybe it’s time to question what government is doing and why. We have a ballooning debt problem. I think questioning the status quo can be a good thing. We can’t keep kicking the can down the road. That said, I get it makes people uncomfortable; especially those in the minority. Had Harris won, Republicans and conservatives would have been just as uncomfortable I can assure you.

I don’t disagree. You should have lead with that.

I assumed that, as an adult, you would grasp the basic point.

But then you say this and I realize that I was wrong. You can't say you agree with what I wrote, then put this nonsense into the world. Trump is appointing people who want to implement Project 2025. His actions- appointing those who helped craft Project 2025- show that he supports this implementation. Actions are not speculative, Joe. If you do not want to see what's right in front of you, that's on you. Just don't tell us that what we all see happening isn't real. That's some bullshirt.

Sorry, I don’t realize you were an adult. My apologies.

Think what you want Monkey. You can’t predict the future nor can you read minds. Trump is a politician. He says many things. Some true. Some not so true.

So if you believe he endorses everything in Project 25 and intends to implement everything in Project 25, that is up to you. Believe what you want. Makes absolutely no difference to me what you choose to believe. I have my doubts that he believes or intends to implement Project 25 and I highly doubt that even if he could, he can get it done in a pretty much evenly divided legislature.

I will leave you to clutch your pearls.

You don't get off the hook that easily. Respond how you want, I don't care. I just want to make sure you understand that everyone can see the bullshirt you are pulling here. Everything I have said has clearly been about judging actions and not words, so when you say "Trump is a politician. He says many things. Some true. Some not so true," you are intentionally misrepresenting my point. It's childish. Stop.
