Supreme Court has voted to overturn abortion rights per draft opinion (Update: Dobbs opinion official) (4 Viewers)

Not long ago Kari Lake proclaimed Arizona's abortion law was a great law and wanted it the law of the state.

Now that she has gotten her way, she is lobbying for it to be repealed.

As I have been saying since 2022, the overwhelming vast majority of women aren't going to vote for the man who proudly boasts that he got rid of Roe V. Wade. Nor are those women going to vote for a forced birther politician.

Turns out, republican belief in "pro life" was all just lies to get votes. Who is surprised? I sure am not.

How many forced birthers will do the same about face?

Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake is actively lobbying state lawmakers to overturn a 160-year-old law she once supported that bans abortion in almost all cases, a source with knowledge of her efforts told CNN.

To an extent I can see, but with the new talking point of if a business is open to the public, I can't make that make sense in my head. Businesses discriminate all the time. If you don't have enough money, they won't provide the service. If they are not wearing a shoes, or a shirt, that is also a form of discrimination. What you are trying to argue, I think, is that they can't discriminate against a 'protected class of people'. My opinion is by creating 'protected classes' based on characteristics that are choices and not characteristics assigned at birth (color of skin, genitalia ect..) then you will create an unfair society in the blind attempt to create a fair society.
Why does a gay couple gain more points in the 'protected class' game than a religious baker who only wants to not participate in something, basically be left alone?

You answered you own question without even realizing it. The answer is because being gay isn't a choice, it just is. Just like color of skin, genitalia, etc. Being religious is much more of a choice.

It's not about the day, it is the practice. Pagan holidays and practices were appropriated by Christians and given dates that fit the Christian calendar to compel people of conquered lands into Christianity, like the decorated tree for Christmas, or the MX day of the dead/day of all saints.

Why are you so quick to dismiss the woodland fairy? Religious faith is religious faith, no matter who or what one worships.
Yes. I agree. I am also failing to see what point you are making or why this is such a horrible and terrible practice.

I can dismiss any faith that I don't agree with. Is that not what you all do?

If sexual preference is a choice, when did you choose to be straight?

Ok, I stand corrected, but then you would also be ok if we banned all other abortions'? Keep abortion for the less than 1% of cases but ban all abortions' as a form of birth control?

I think I've said this in the past, but what I am for is comprehensive, mandatory sexual education in public schools along with abundant and free birth control, including (but not limited to) prophylactics, implants, and medication (including Plan B). If you want to reduce abortions, that has to be the first step.

Is it? Sexuality is not a characteristic that is given at birth, it is a choice. There are people that have no sexual desires for either sex, or how many there are now, and there are people that never participate in sex due to a decision. So that proves sexuality is a decision not a inherit characteristic. When is the last time you have seen a person decide to not be black or not be white, they can't, it is impossible. How did Michael Jackson or Rachel Dolezal look to the world, pretty damn silly. And yes, just like you can't magically change a man into a woman by appropriation. There is no 'gay' gene. Sexuality is choice to practice or not.

Why do you think the lack of sexual desire is a decision and not a characteristic?

do people just decide when, who and what makes them aroused?

Yes, it is. That's a jumbled mess of explanation to justify discrimination. Sexuality is a part of all living beings. It's no more a choice than skin color. It is a part of us, a part of all living things.

Who we have sex with may be a choice. But as human beings, we've increasingly acknowledge that those choices are not a justifiable reason for discrimination. Thus the protected class status.

Being trans also isn't a choice. A person can maybe chose not to live out as a trans person and conform themselves to societal expectations or religious dogmas (to their own detriment), but they are still trans. They just deny it.

If you can't define art, how are you claiming that the baker is creating art? Is the caterer creating art or just providing food?
Can you define pornography? Neither can the courts. That is the point. Wavy lines are not good in law.

    This is just QAnon nonsense.
Can you explain how? And since I have no idea what Q thinks about the child abuse scandal in the catholic church, should I find it telling that you do? I assume it was a talking point for Joy Reid, yes?

There is no wavy line. There is a single question: is your business a public accommodation? If yes, you cannot discriminate against protected classes.

Is it? Sexuality is not a characteristic that is given at birth, it is a choice. .......................
One minute you say that heterosexuality is the law of nature and the next minute you say "Sexuality is not a characteristic that is given at birth, it is a choice."

    Which is it?

I can do without the snark from someone who parrots QAnon crap. I’m dealing in facts here. Your stated belief that child sexual predators have infiltrated public schools and the entire government is straight out of QAnon. I cannot help it that you believe this nonsense. Nor that you are on board with demonizing gay, trans and anyone you deem ’the left’. But this claptrap doesn’t deserve to be taken seriously, except for the fact that real people will be killed (and have been killed) and /or have their lives ruined by your fellow believers that are crazy enough to act upon the lies. It’s already happened several times.

You yourself are showing signs of radicalization in that your first response to the bomb threat of a children‘s hospital was that they probably deserved it. You are evidently radicalized enough to believe that teachers are just randomly handing out sex toys to children in schools. You have been radicalized enough that you think people choose to be gay or trans against all evidence to the contrary.

You aren‘t being fact based here. You are parroting QAnon beliefs whether you know it or not.

The horrible and terrible parts already occurred: Christian empires forcing conquered peoples into their religion and appropriating their practices in the process.

Here in my home State, at least we took the name back of our day of the dead, hanal pixan. Unfortunately the actual date has been lost in time.

I can dismiss any faith that I don't agree with. Is that not what you all do?
Of course you can dismiss any faith you don't agree with, but that wasn't the point; the point is, religious faith is religious faith, no matter the religion, whether you have faith in Jesus, Allah, or the Leshen.
