So is Watters just playing a role on TV or is he really this guy?
=============

Fox News host and Donald Trump fanatic Jesse Watters slammed men who go shopping for food with their wives after former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff were pictured returning to domestic normality Thursday.

Watters returned to the dark ages when he fired the blow during his Primetime show Thursday telling his captive audience: “What kind of husband goes grocery shopping with his wife?”……

What is it with MAGA men who feel so insecure that they have to post something like this!

They would absolutely fail big time here :ROFLMAO:

One of our most successful entrepreneurs once brought his infant son to the office in a baby sling because his wife was taking their daughter to a school activity. He even felt comfortable enough to share a photo of the moment on LinkedIn.

This is the same leader who rewards employees with an extra week of fully paid vacation if they take three consecutive weeks off during summer, rather than splitting their time into shorter breaks. His reasoning? Company data shows that three uninterrupted weeks of rest lead to significantly higher productivity compared to taking shorter, separate vacations.

One week into Donald Trump’s second administration and the verdict among far-right activists and neo-Nazis is that the next four years will be a time to relax, organize and take advantage of the popular awakening of American fascism.

“Be ready to cash out the next four years,” wrote one delighted neo-Nazi account on Telegram, in a post viewed more than 1,000 times. “Get the bag, infiltrate existing institutions with power, build new institutions while we have breathing room, and tear down anything leftist.”

During the Biden administration, which presided over an FBI that aggressively dismantled rightwing extremist groups of every ilk, along with the gargantuan January 6 investigations netting thousands of suspects, anxiety on the far right ran high.

Even in chatrooms online, major tech companies booted and reported them to authorities, while mainstream culture vilified their racist antics.

But now, things are different. Elon Musk’s salute has been described in the media as merely an ill-timed gesture and Trump pardoned 1,500 people involved in the January 6 attack on day one of his presidency.

“The left is exhausted, extremely unpopular, and has been divested from by their tech bro backers,” the same post continued. “Now is the time to openly advocate for ourselves. Now is the time to go from defense and survival towards organizing and swift action.”

Among the accelerationist neo-Nazis, an extremist sect calling for acts of terrorism to bring down society, the feeling seems just as nonchalant. Their consensus is that while it’s not the moment to entirely come out of the shadows, it is a time to celebrate the end of a Democratic-controlled US government.

Posting on several social media apps, including the Kremlin-controlled VKontakte, the proscribed neo-Nazi terrorist group the Base took the day of Trump’s inauguration to subtly flex, releasing a photo of four stateside members somewhere in Appalachia – the largest number of American members in one photo in over a year.

Not long ago, the Base seemed dead. It was the subject of a major nationwide FBI crackdown, seeing more than a dozen of its members arrested for a laundry list of terrorist activities across the US and Europe. But in 2025, their numbers aren’t shrinking.

Another prominent neo-Nazi and New England-based former member of the Base told his followers on Telegram to “see the opportunity” in the next four years...............

If I were starting a new country, I would outlaw neo-nazi, KKK groups and some adjacent militia groups like we do Islamic terrorist organizations. There is not difference between them. It's stupid that after we defeated the Nazi's and saw what they were about and then we just let them organize and function within our country. That doesn't enhance free speech, it just assures that you'll be fighting the same fights as we did in the past forever.

@RepMTG
, you’ve outdone yourself again.

Renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America"?

That’s not just ignorant, it’s completely missing the point. Let’s break it down.First, the Gulf of Mexico has had its name since 1507. That’s over 500 years, and it’s not just ours, it borders Mexico and Cuba too.

Trying to slap a new name on it like it’s a post office?

That’s not just tone-deaf; it’s downright embarrassing.

Imagine the diplomatic nightmare, Mexico would laugh us out of the room, and Cuba wouldn’t even pick up the phone. And speaking of priorities, we’ve got people struggling to pay for food, rent, and medicine. Meanwhile, you’re out here worried about renaming a body of water? Completely useless.

Then there’s the economic chaos you’d cause.

The Gulf isn’t just some pond; it’s a hub for oil, gas, and trade. Renaming it would confuse maps, contracts, and global agreements. That’s not patriotism, it’s stupidity with a flag wrapped around it.Marjorie, this isn’t leadership. It’s performative nonsense dressed up as policy.

Leave the Gulf alone.

GOP says they're not racists, that they're not Nazis but seem completely unbothered that so many racists and so many Nazis are so excited about what they're doing and have zero interest in reflecting on why that may be

Shoot, I mostly go along, or get the groceries myself to keep costs down.

Google falls in line
==============

Google has confirmed it will rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America on Google Maps in the US, after an executive order from Donald Trump.

It will remain the Gulf of Mexico in Mexico, while users outside of the US and Mexico will see both names on Google Maps. The Alaskan peak Denali, the tallest mountain in North America, will also be changed to Mount McKinley in the US in line with Trump’s executive order on 20 January.

“We have a longstanding practice of applying name changes when they have been updated in official government,” said Google in a post on X.

Explaining the different labels for the gulf in the US, Mexico and the rest of the word, Google added: “When official names vary between countries, Maps users see their official local name. Everyone in the rest of the world sees both names. That applies here too.”………

Um, Google? The U.S. doesn’t own the Gulf of Mexico. Freaking chickenschlitz azzhats.

Rep. Rich McCormick, R-Ga., on Tuesday defended the impacts of the White House's federal aid freeze on school lunch programs by suggesting that some children should be working instead of receiving free lunch.

During an interview on CNN, McCormick praised the move as a way to broadly re-evaluate how the government allocates funding. CNN Anchor Pamela Brown noted that Head Start, which helps provide nutritional assistance to low-income children and families, is one of the programs that could be affected. She pressed McCormick on whether he would support cutting funding for free breakfast and lunches.

"Before I was even 13 years old, I was picking berries in the field, before child labor laws that precluded that. I was a paper boy, and when I was in high school, I worked my entire way through," McCormick said. "You’re telling me that kids who stay at home instead of going to work at Burger King, McDonald’s, during the summer, should stay at home and get their free lunch instead of going to work? I think we need to have a top-down review."

McCormick, who was speaking from Doral, Florida, where House Republicans are holding their annual issues conference, said that the pause on federal funds gives the government a chance to "see where is the money really being spent."

"Who can actually go and actually produce their own income? Who can actually go out there and do something that makes them have value and work skills for the future?" McCormick said..............

I live in an area of about 1,500 or so people. About 300 of those are kids that go to the 1 public school here, and a lot of them receive free or reduced lunch. I do work with the rotary club and food bank here, and you hear a lot about kids that like going to school because that's sometimes the only meal they receive. We don't have a McDonald's (we of course have a Sonic and Dollar General, I am still in America after all) the closest one is a 20 minute drive. How many kids does this dip-shirt think can work at McDonald's or Sonic? How does he expect them to get to and from work? They must have a nice car since they are saving all that lunch money. Who still gets a physical paper? Sure dip-shirt, bring back dying legacy media and 3 of these kids can have paper routes.

Upcoming right wing outrage/boycott du jour
================

Conservative pundits found themselves in an online clash Tuesday with an unlikely demographic – Marvel fans – after calling for a boycott of the upcoming blockbuster Captain America: Brave New World.

The bust-up began following comments made by the movie’s star, Anthony Mackie, during a recent promotion for the film, in which he described the eponymous protagonist as a man with “honor, dignity and integrity,” and that such qualities did not currently represent America.

"For me Captain America represents a lot of different things, and I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations,” Mackie said. “It’s about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity and integrity. Someone who is trustworthy and dependable.”

The viral clip was quick to anger Republicans, who called for the movie to be boycotted, with some going so far as to describe it as “woke garbage.” Conservative political commentator Dan Bongino shared a clip on X of Mackie’s remarks and wrote: "Another s*** movie I won’t be seeing."

Todd Erzen of BlazeTV’s Steve Deace Show added: "You should mock and boycott him just as mercilessly as you would Selena Gomez. His movie needs to pay the price for his disrespect."……….

Good article on Silicon Valley and right wing goes back further than generally believed
===========================

An influential Silicon Valley publication runs a cover story lamenting the “pussification” of tech. A major tech CEO lambasts a Black civil rights leader’s calls for diversifying the tech workforce. Technologists rage against the “PC police”.

No, this isn’t Silicon Valley in the age of Maga. It’s the tech industry of the 1990s, when observers first raised concerns about the rightwing bend of Silicon Valley and the potential for “technofascism”.

Despite the industry’s (often undeserved) reputation for liberalism, its reactionary foundations were baked in almost from the beginning.

As Silicon Valley enters a second Trump administration, the gendered roots of its original reactionary movement offer insight into today’s rightward turn.

***

At the height of the dotcom mania in the 1990s, many critics warned of a creeping reactionary fervor. “Forget digital utopia,” wrote the longtime technology journalist Michael Malone, “we could be headed for techno-fascism.” Elsewhere, the writer Paulina Borsook called the valley’s worship of male power “a little reminiscent of the early celebrants of Eurofascism from the 1930s”.

Their voices were largely drowned out by the techno-enthusiasts of the time, but Malone and Borsook were pointing to a vision of Silicon Valley built around a reverence for unlimited male power – and a major pushback when that power was challenged.

At the root of this reactionary thinking was a writer and public intellectual named George Gilder. Gilder was one of Silicon Valley’s most vocal evangelists, as well as a popular “futurist” who forecasted coming technological trends.

In 1996, he started an investment newsletter that became so popular that it generated rushes on stocks from his readers, in a process that became known as the “Gilder effect”.

Gilder was also a longtime social conservative who brought his politics to Silicon Valley. He had first made his name in the 1970s as an anti-feminist provocateur and a mentee of the conservative stalwart William F Buckley.

At a time when women were entering the workforce in unprecedented numbers, he wrote books that argued that traditional gender roles needed to be restored, and he blamed social issues such as poverty on the breakdown of the nuclear family. (He also blamed federal welfare programs, especially those that funded single mothers, claiming they turned men into “cuckolds of the state”).

In 1974, the National Organization for Women named him “Male Chauvinist Pig of the Year”; Gilder wore it as a badge of pride…….
