Sure, Trump is an egomaniacal douche bag.... but some of you are pompously reveling in this.... and I am just chiming in to say...

Anyone that does that gets put on the equal and oppose Trump-Like level (IMO) for doing so... your political ideals shouldn't be a personality trait... and you should be better than that... *digressing*

I personally think he's full of it... and doesn't have Covid at all.... and for whatever reason, he thinks he can use this situation to his advantage prior to the election....
I agree with you latter point, but your 1st is an example of why so many despises trump and his staunch supporters. The POTUS is supposed to be better than the rest of us but instead, he has shown, time and again, that not only is he the worst of us, he embraces it along with his supporters. Those rally goers love to say "he's just tell'n it like it is!", how about for once telling it like we aspire to be! Instead of growth as a nation, he prefers to go backwards. He has zero interest in being the POTUS, he's only interested in the approval of his supporters and to the rest of us, he couldn't care less.

That thought process has turned the vast majority of the United States population against him because his attitude towards them has been, at best, disrespectful and it's human nature to reciprocate. I, for one, have no problem with the masses showing their disdain for trump, after all, why should they held to a higher standard than the President of the United States?

It can be normalizing them. In the sense that there is some behaviour that is so egregious that it's inevitable that it would bring some, or many, to wish for the suffering or death of the protagonist, to oppose that reaction is to attempt to normalise the behaviour, relatively speaking, to behaviour that doesn't invoke that response.

A lot of that is inadvertent of course - for example, when the reason for opposing the expression of that reaction is to apply forum standards, or to call for higher standards generally. But I think it is a valid point to make that there are genuine, human, reasons to feel that way and that it's important to acknowledge them.

Frankly I’m less concerned with the reactions of those hoping for harm than I am about their reaction to the people that don’t. The constant childish catch phrases and over-the-top unhinged rants about how we should all be burning incense to the the gods of vengeance is disturbing and says a lot about how broken we are as a people.

We’ll just have to ... wait for it... agree to disagree.

anyone who could type the words above with a straight face that you typed, that my response to this bull shirt artist Trump- MY response is somehow ‘Trumpian’.. well, i give up.. You do you, pal.. again, not criticizing YOU personally- but some of y’alls posts today are completely out of touch, IMO.
For some there is no greater sign of their righteousness and credibility than equivocating the left with the most monstrous incarnations of the right because they don’t act with their privilege of being able to treat politics like a gentleman’s game without consequences.

Good news, everybody. Want to feel the best you've felt in decades? Just ignore all health protocols and get yourself some of that sweet CODID nectar!

Mix a little bit of oxygen with some experimental antibody treatments, hardcore steroid and a little car ride, with all the best medical care that your $750 in tax money can buy, and you'll be right as rain.

/sarcasm off, it is hard to imagine this guy making his administration's response to this pandemic worse by getting the virus, but he probably will.

    Shocked, I tell you...SHOCKED.

He'll be miraculously cured by next week saying it was no worse than the flu and everyone should go back to normal life.

There’s a reason I haven’t been here since the week it opened. It brings out the worst in me.

I have no idea who you’re planning to vote for, and i dont really need to know.. But if a lot of voters think along the lines of some of your posts today- then please dont be surprised if the Trump Crime Family gets elected (or strong arms it way) into 4 more years of rule.

ill need a flow chart please. lol

    But yes. all of that.

Trump has degraded civility to what we see here on this very board. This was Trumps doing. He seized on the momentum coming off a Black POTUS and possibly a WOMAN POTUS on a certain demographic that simply enthralled their marginalized minds.

And its been degrading ever since his nomination.

This is EXACTLY what he wants. So divided, that the country literally fractures and becomes a chaotic mess that he and those of his kind, can run roughshod over any seemingly decent law we have set forth.

He is following the dictators playbook.

I despise Trump. I often say I’d scrape a dead armadillo off the side of the road, put it in a suit and prop it up behind the Resolute Desk before I’d vote for Trump. I’ll be voting for Biden, proudly, but I’d vote for literally anyone over Trump and frankly over the last 4 years I’ve lost a lot of respect for people that I used to respect who support him.

I have lost that respect because of the lack of dignity and humanity they have shown. I’m not willing to become them, no matter how much that offends you guys.

There are some people the world is better without. Wishing/praying/chanting for that world to come about isn't an 'over the top unhinged rant'. It's hoping for a better world. Addition by subtraction.

I don't care if he is "king of the planet".... Him acting like a pompous self serving jack off.... shouldn't make you lose your better judgement to the point where you lower yourself to being equally self absorbed / self important in direct response... In fact, I am sure that's the response Trump wants, and you're giving him the satisfaction he craves.

If you have decided to be morally devoid in direct response to Trumps' idiocy... say that then... and stop trying rationalize it, so I can avoid your posts and save myself the time of reading 100 posts that lack the basic empathy that so many say is the exact same reason they hate the guy.

And him being a self serving turd, does not a Bin Laden make... One was a calculated mass murderer... The other is dumb and negligent... there are lots of different people that can claim plenty of blame for the 200k + worth of deaths due to Covid in the US... to lay them all at the feet of Trump is blind hate / insanity... and to compare him to terrorist - well, let's just say you're reaching cult-level brain freeze at this point.

Some of the posts here and elsewhere are unhinged rants. That’s just the reality in this highly charged environment. It happens, but let’s be honest about what it is.

But you do realize that those who do stand up and show lack of dignity and humanity have been pushed so far to the edge, this is all they can muster up, right?

This is EXACTLY HOW HE WAS ELECTED. HE SEIZED on those that felt marginalized...he made them relevant. Its ok to not give 2c if he lives or dies, because we all know we can quickly return to respect and humanity. Making a statement like NO Bronco did, doesnt dissuade me one bit. He feels quite strongly about this very subject and I can understand it ( im that way with the Military ). I dont look to denounce him just because he has had enough. IF thats his stance, so be it.

No one wants to hear " you can do better than that" when our own POTUS refuses to do the very same thing.

For whatever reason, this touches a nerve with him and i think everyone would do much better if they could find the understanding of that nerve, versus decrying his stance.

    thats all.

Okay, I have cleaned this thread up as best I can. The reasons should be fairly obvious.

One point: the term “virtue signaling” is obnoxious no matter who uses it, from the left or the right. And we have seen it from both sides.

What is does is completely discredit a person’s POV as dishonest. This will not be tolerated by me, for one.

Carry on, and keep it civil. Discuss the ideas presented rather than the character of the poster.

He's writing Biden's campaign slogans this last month at this point.

What drugs have been developed under his admin? I don't think the plasma counts, but even if so, did the government develop it or encourage it?

"this morphine is great! Never felt more alive. I love everyone!"

Those are good questions but I do not believe they will work to help Mr Biden’s campaign.

Mr Biden needs to emphasize how much it would cost the average person to receive the same medical care Mr Trump did.
