Donald Trump’s erratic and reckless behavior in the last 24 hours has opened a rift in the Trump family over how to rein in the out-of-control president, according to two Republicans briefed on the family conversations. Sources said Donald Trump Jr. is deeply upset by his father’s decision to drive around Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last night with members of the Secret Service while he was infected with COVID-19. “Don Jr. thinks Trump is acting crazy,” one of the sources told me. The stunt outraged medical experts, including an attending physician at Walter Reed.
According to sources, Don Jr. has told friends that he tried lobbying Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Jared Kushner to convince the president that he needs to stop acting unstable. “Don Jr. has said he wants to stage an intervention, but Jared and Ivanka keep telling Trump how great he’s doing,” a source said. Don Jr. is said to be reluctant to confront his father alone. “Don said, ‘I’m not going to be the only one to tell him he’s acting crazy,’” the source added.
One area where the family seems united is over the president’s manic tweeting early Monday morning. After Trump sent out more than a dozen all-caps tweets, the Trump children told people they want Trump to stop. “They’re all worried. They’ve tried to get him to stop tweeting,” a source close to the family told me.

Worth also keeping in mind that Dexamethasone, I am told, can do a number on the body and mind. Which Trump has supposedly been treated with. It is a steroid to prevent inflammation and it can give a sustained burst of energy and euphoric feelings, but can also lead to insomnia and some temporary manic behaviors on the come down.

....Also, remember when the zeitgeist and the pundits kept proclaiming Jared and Ivanka were the good ones, that they would be the moderating forces for the president. Lol
This makes no sense inasmuch as Don, Jr. acts even crazier than Donald.

Sure, Trump is an egomaniacal douche bag.... but some of you are pompously reveling in this.... and I am just chiming in to say...

Anyone that does that gets put on the equal and oppose Trump-Like level (IMO) for doing so... your political ideals shouldn't be a personality trait... and you should be better than that... *digressing*

I personally think he's full of it... and doesn't have Covid at all.... and for whatever reason, he thinks he can use this situation to his advantage prior to the election....

Osama Bin Laden masterminded the deaths of 3,000 Americans and almost every single one of us rejoiced when he was slain. As a nation, we spent a trillion dollars just to make that happen.

Osama's a rank amateur compared to Trump. Traitors deserve no quarter, no dignity, no mercy. I hope he's a "long-hauler" and spends the rest of his miserable days unable to taste or smell, with Andre the Giant sitting on his chest for every labored, gasping breath.

Good news, everybody. Want to feel the best you've felt in decades? Just ignore all health protocols and get yourself some of that sweet CODID nectar!

Mix a little bit of oxygen with some experimental antibody treatments, hardcore steroid and a little car ride, with all the best medical care that your $750 in tax money can buy, and you'll be right as rain.

/sarcasm off, it is hard to imagine this guy making his administration's response to this pandemic worse by getting the virus, but he probably will.

Mistakes and incompetence are different than intentional murder. Comparing Trump with Bin Laden is apples and Cadillacs.

I refuse to let myself act in the same way Trump does (he reveled in Hillary’s pneumonia and Romney having to isolate). I despise him for the person he is and I choose not to follow his example. So while I feel there is some poetic justice at play, I will still wish them all well and hope for a speedy recovery. I’m respectful because of who I am, not because of who he is. That’s what I always teach my kids.

We all knew this was coming. His supporters will only be emboldened by this. Things are going to get really nasty now. You think anti-maskers were bad before...

I was ambivalent at first, but the longer this stupidity continues the more I'm hoping that his hubris will lead to his demise. "Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life."? Is he telling that to the 210,000 Americans that have already died or the hundreds of thousands of others that have been hospitalized and incubated?

He is by no means out of the woods, no matter what they gave him. Let him go back to the WH and spread it to more people, get sicker and end up right back at the hospital. What a humongous Peice of work.

    Agreed.

I dont I understand how some of you refuse to condemn Trump for the cancer on America that he is, and somehow try to stick to the Michelle Obama ‘they go low , we go high!’ BS.. all that will get us is another 200k Americans dead, and an even crappier economy (Oh, but the stock market’s doing so well!!!111!!!)

    STOP NORMALIZING TRUMP.

This is so silly. Who is normalizing Trump? Not wishing for someone’s suffering and death isn’t normalizing them. That’s silly and frankly, Trump-like.

You say ‘reveling’ but i would say ‘holding him accountable.’

And BTW if you think he’s faking his Covid diagnosis (which i’m not willing to say b/c I simply dont know)- then dont you think Trump should be called out at every opportunity?? You think ‘we’ should somehow have a higher bar than he has, that, to quote you: We ‘should be better than that’?? Boy, have you got some absolute gall.. or more accurately, to comply with the TOS of this site- Boy, is your post ****ed up in a million ways.

Exactly... equally and completely opposite... yet absolutely Trump-Like. Neither should be considered normal nor acceptable.

We’ll just have to ... wait for it... agree to disagree.

anyone who could type the words above with a straight face that you typed, that my response to this bull shirt artist Trump- MY response is somehow ‘Trumpian’.. well, i give up.. You do you, pal.. again, not criticizing YOU personally- but some of y’alls posts today are completely out of touch, IMO.

He's writing Biden's campaign slogans this last month at this point.

What drugs have been developed under his admin? I don't think the plasma counts, but even if so, did the government develop it or encourage it?

"this morphine is great! Never felt more alive. I love everyone!"

It can be normalizing them. In the sense that there is some behaviour that is so egregious that it's inevitable that it would bring some, or many, to wish for the suffering or death of the protagonist, to oppose that reaction is to attempt to normalise the behaviour, relatively speaking, to behaviour that doesn't invoke that response.

A lot of that is inadvertent of course - for example, when the reason for opposing the expression of that reaction is to apply forum standards, or to call for higher standards generally. But I think it is a valid point to make that there are genuine, human, reasons to feel that way and that it's important to acknowledge them.
