Disingenuous is correct I'd say.. he should have just said and consistently stuck to "I'm not voting for this bill, start over" and I don't really understand why he didn't do that except for maybe feeling pressure from his left or something, which doesn't even forking matter with him being in West Virginia.. so I dunno.

Instead he got himself involved with playing a game with Biden, Klein, and the rest and ended up talking out of both sides of his mouth.

There are thousands of Judges who are able to interpret the constitution well enough to be on the SCOTUS.

“Best” qualified usually means that the judge has the same biases as the person defining “best”.

Like it or not, SCOTUS nominations are a political act, even if the position is not supposed to be.

Including factors like diversity don’t undermine the court any more than promising to appoint an “originalist”.

Narrowing down the pool of candidates by race and gender doesn’t hurt, and if it helps the court better reflect the population it affects, it’s probably the better than any other metric that has been used.

I just saw a short piece on her history and she seems to be more than qualified. She even clerked for Bryer so it's almost like filling his seat with one of his protégés. I'd actually be shocked if Breyer wasn't consulted or at least had some input on her being ultimately picked.
