While saying he supports the Second Amendment, Biden called the absolutist arguments of some gun-rights supporters “bizarre.” Noting people can’t own machine guns or bazookas, Biden said, “Why should we allow people to have military-style weapons including pistols with 9-mm bullets and can hold 10 or more rounds?

IMO, if Biden wants to persuade people, including those who want to retain the right to own weapons for self defense, he really should learn more about guns. Based on prior statements as well those he made in the linked article, he seems hung up on the idea that a shotgun is the correct weapon for personal defense, and that a 2-3 round capacity is adequate. Furthermore, when he throws out "9mm" as if it is some unusually lethal round, he really sounds as though he is, at best, willfully ignorant and can't be trusted when it comes to legislation restricting gun ownership.

How did the world do it before AR-15?

Yes you can kill hogs with almost anything. A rusted screwdriver if you got a big enough pair.

A 22 works but you have to get a head shot. So you have to be a good shot.

A shotgun definitely works killing hogs. Infact I am sure you can find ammo much cheaper designed to drop hogs.

Now if you need a whole clip in an AR-15 to kill a hog I would suggest practice shooting.

On a side note you can do it with a bow. A cousin of mine got tired of hunting so to make it more if a challenge he started to bow hunt 20 years ago. He lives up north in corn growing country where deer are like roaches.

He is good. Has not fired a gun since.

as far as economy goes, I only need 1 with the 300, but I like to put 2. A hog that is upset can hurt you. In addition, my shotgun has a very short range, even going to a buckshot type ammo, the range is still minute in comparison. Plus I don’t have a scope on my shotgun (I guess I could buy a really nice benelli) I am far more accurate from a safe distance with the 300. And I don’t know anyone that hunts hogs with a shotgun. At least not the ones that you and Joe Biden are referring to.

I do have a 17hmr, but again to many possibilities for something to go wrong.

Why should I compromise my mission based on a city boys opinion of my tools?

    As always - Yes :)

    2017: 874 guns, 228 air/spring riffles og 562 blanks - knives, swords etc.. 320 explosives and a lot of ammunition. https://ekstrabladet.dk/112/vild-indsamling-saa-mange-ulovlige-vaaben-har-politiet-modtaget/6704634

    2013 : 13.481 guns https://www.berlingske.dk/samfund/politiet-fik-over-13.000-vaaben-under-frit-lejde

    2009 9589 guns https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/indland/frit-lejde-aktion-gav-9589-vaaben

It may not seem a lot to you but this a from a population of only 5 million,

strictly going off of the pics as I can’t read Dutch. But the pics in the first article and the third look like the same guns.

Not dutch but danish and it could be. The line under the picture says "archive picture" so probably just an illustration. The numbers however is correct because they come from the danish police

Odd though. Why use an 8 year old picture. The articles were from 2009 and 2017.

I guess this lady didn't have a rusty screwdriver

Unbelievably tragic. This is a very rare incident, just what little research we have found less than six of these have been reported in the nation," Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said.

    From the article.

But I guess she would still be alive with a ghost gun?

Is that your take on this one. Or every 60 year old lady need to pack some unregistered heat

I think the point was that she didn’t have a rusty screwdriver.

Well since she was a 59 year old woman and women are never born with a pair I don't think the screwdriver would have helped.

But if you think the world would be a safer place with ghost guns in the hands of elderly women feel free to give me that argument i am sure it would be a hoot!

You have provided an excellent demonstration of your true agenda and an excellent reason why the Second Amendment is vitally important.

You want control over other people. That is what this is all about. Your issue with ghost guns points this out. An unserialized gun is no more deadly than a serialized gun.

Your apparent disdain for 59 year old women is an excellent example of why people like you can never be allowed the control they so desperately desire.

As a side note, I do believe that it is the current position of the Democrat party that women indeed can be born with a "pair".

That is just beautiful that you are scared of having instruments of death licensed rather handed out all dipshits with a pulse.

What would you say to the fact that one of those dipshits playing with an instrument of death shot one of my good friends in the face and killed him when we were teenagers.

Would he still have had the gun maybe or maybe not because his parents a were dipshits also his dad might have not passed a test or check. I am certain since his dad did a stretch in Angola later he would have had a hard time legally getting a gun with a background check.

About that woman and the pigs yes it sucks.

Something is not being said about the story. So I think pigs bum rushed her like a car jacking? No something else happened. She probably did not get out of the car quick and finished a phone call or are pigs known for rushing moving cars?

Were both situations avoidable with a gun or gun laws?

I don't know but my good friend Craig was taken too early by another minor playing with an instrument of death.

About that Bruce picture I don't know what to tell ya but stay away from that crazy family. They are batshit crazy. He is far from the only male to flat arse loose his mind around them.

Real versus imagined fear, I guess is what it boils down to? Or at least a logical threat versus emotion? If you're going to totally ignore the history of injuries and deaths caused by children handling guns to fight mythical boogiemen on the Internet... :jpshakehead:

Living in a rural area with wild hogs and keeping a gun handy is reasonable. Who is arguing that it's not?

Keeping loaded weapons with children in the house is a real threat. Watching from your phone and thinking you can intervene in time? What about friends or family visiting? Or the life-altering affects of children growing up isolated because the guns come first? This is an extreme and I'm not suggesting this is your situation, but if you're promoting this as a good idea, at least consider the consequences. Loaded weapons and isolation are red flags that something is not right. Most people I know who keep weapons loaded don't broadcast that information or have young children in the house. Ever.

I guess you are right a weapon designed to take human life is probably the easiest to use on a pig.

But then again using another form like traps or a hunting rifle does not give you the thrill of using a weapon of war.

Hey is your vast collection all on the up an up?

Yep I am a city guy but I sure do understand the using the wrong tool for the job or just using the easiest.

I have quite a few hunting rifles. The 300 is the easiest to shoot free standing. What is the hang up. It’s ok for me to use the other 23 guns I have but not the one that is lost effective for the job at hand?

I appreciate your input, but I’m pretty sure we are good. instead of focusing on what people like I do, maybe we should all put our efforts into the inter cities where lives are taken nightly by regular old handguns.

This post does nothing to help the discussion. "Excellent demonstration" "true agenda" ??? What are you talking about? And Bruce Jenner pics? Seriously, you've got (at least) two women near that magic 59 year range :hihi: participating in this discussion who are not going ballistic over that one article. Yet you do.

I don't think this helps us get closer to any solutions. We need to work together, not work to wedge people into some preconceived platforms. You are not my enemy, and the rest of us are not yours.

Damn I do feel for you.

I live I the big bad dangerous city yet I don't live in fear like that.

23 guns? Don't you have kids? Why don't you sell like 18 or so and put that in a college fund?

Guns don't appreciate worth a darn.
[Mod Edit - Moose, you are nearing the point where you are close to getting yourself banned from this board. No subtle jabs or personal insults whatsoever. Resist the urge to make it personal, and stop intentionally tripping the profanity filter on the MCB board.]

Nope brother you are miss informed again.

The violent crime rate in rural areas is on the rise while going down in cities.

But then again I don't live in absolute forking fear!

I would suggest talking to a professional again.

I appreciate you asking. Guns are a GREAT investment. I just recently purchased a really nice 308 for $2200. (Beautiful weapon that I can really reach out and touch with). As soon as a liberal gets in office, I will sell it for upwards of 5k.

I think I paid for college off of the Brady Bill. The thing is there are people on this board and in society that have never lived outside of metro areas. Yet they want to make laws that actually impact our lifestyle that they know nothing of.
