The video is NSFW due to language and the graphic description of Joe Biden's alleged conduct.

Were they that sorry in high school?

Not a single person among us has lived without making mistakes. I think Jim is alluding you how much they try to slander you and the lengths they go to, no matter the party. Just the name of the game unfortunately.

Therefore reasonable good people don’t want to fool with all of that, and also probably realize that they won’t be able to attain the highest positions as to get to those you have to be willing to put your morals aside at times.

    Just my two cents.

I still think there are lots of good, smart, honorable people who can stand scrutiny.

I respect that. And I do too, but they wouldn’t make it to the top, in my opinion.

I know plenty of those types of people.

I don't think Trump makes mistakes. I think he's very deliberate and doesn't care about anything except himself.. to include his wives and children.

When I was young, I thought the adults knew what was going on so I didn't worry about a thing. The POTUS, politicians, all of them were the best among us, called by duty to serve this great country and their fellow Americans.
As I got older, I began to realize that I was wrong, very very very wrong. The politicians are not smarter than most, in fact, I would bet that most on this board (not me obviously) are more informed and intelligent than well over half of our ruling class. We basically elect very good used car salesman (I am in sales or i was in sales when I had a job so I mean no disrespect to used car sales man) that have zero interest in doing the right thing for us, the voters. They just want money and power. Like I have said before, we get what we deserve because of who we vote for.

Sadly, these idiots are our only option because the political game is rigged by money. Even the ones that get into politics to do something good or are called to genuinely serve their fellow Americans often get corrupted very quickly.

And there are probably many, many more, good, honorable people who have made mistakes. Some of the very best people I know are also flawed and have made some mistakes in their lives. For some reason, I have a high level of patience for people like that.

On the other hand, I feel like I can spot people in my personal life who seem to be great people - the kind of people who are extremely personal and treat everyone as though they are best friends. I have always been wary of those people and more often than not that instinct has served me well.

I think that sociopaths and narcissists are often drawn to run for political office.

But back to the yearbook thing, in the Kav fiasco he was put on trial for things teenage boys wrote in his book. Here is a not so well kept secret - kids often write things in each other's yearbooks that are indiscreet and often overstate just how "wild and crazy" they were when in truth their lives were quite boring.

Hell, there are no doubt such entries in the yearbooks of kids who grew up in towns with populations in the 4 digits.

No one writes, "remember all of the countless Saturday nights we geeked out playing video games because we had nothing better to do! Good times!"

Idk I think that to a point I’d agree, but he’s made mistakes I’m pretty sure.

💯 to your last paragraph. Absolutely.

Great post. You don’t have to make fun of my childhood tho. 😂

And as an aside, I’ve often wondered about the Narcissism thing as if we didn’t have any at all would we even strive to do, to be? To have? It’s always perplexed me.

Yeah, sure, but why in the hell would they want to?

I sure wouldn't. I don't care how much I could help. I would never subject myself and my family to that sort of BS for that amount of money and I would never want to have to sacrifice my integrity in order to parlay a senate or house job into a lobbying job.

Politicians are whores. You can't avoid it and most people of reasonable morals and intellect aren't whores. And that's the problem.

It's a good point. I heard Brett Weinstein (an evolutionary biologist) in an interview where he discussed sociopathy as an evolutionary trait. It's marked by a lack of empathy for others. If we went too far on the empathy continuum, we would not be able to function. Imagine hearing of the tragic death of someone you had never met and breaking down for days. Or, being on the battlefield and not being able to carry on after seeing an enemy casualty.

I wasn’t aware of Brett speaking about this. I agree there must be a balance and we are wayyy too far on the lacking empathy side right now imo.
I’m gonna look for that interview as the subject fascinates me. Ty.

Spot on. I wouldn’t want that job or any high level job for a billion dollars. For a plethora of reasons.

How can anyone not see the hypocrisy here?

But there was corroborating evidence. There were contemporaneous statements which are almost identical in nature to what we have here with Biden. I don't see why you would characterize one as less based in fact than the other. Both accusers have credibility and time issues.

    I’m not. They’re both valid.
I’m referring to the efforts by left leaning media to scrub this, and by the folks that were all in on Kavanaugh, not wanting to even acknowledge this.
