So this thread is just a big whatabout-ism right?
I think it's a fair whatabout-ism thread, but that's roughly what it is. And yes, I just did a whatabout a whatabout. Very meta.
From my perspective, Joe is at roughly the same level of scrutiny as Trump was, but under far, far less scrutiny than Kavanaugh was. I think it's a fair question to ask what is the correct way to go about vetting someone accused of sexual assault.
We should all ignore the other poster.
I answered your question.
The reason people would vote for Biden despite this allegation is simple. True or not, the contempt for the man in the Oval is large and deep enough that people will overlook the accusation even if it were true. It's EXACTLY the same as what you did when you voted for Trump who has been accused of numerous rapes, bankrupted a casino for god's sake, killed a pro football league, and generally been a total horse's petootie for his whole life.
Right?
It's not about the "believe the women crowd". It's much more simple. Dislike and distrust of Trump outweighs almost any sin by his opponent. And just like you would still vote for Trump if he shot a priest in Time's Square, there are many who would vote for Charles Manson over Trump because Trump is worse.
And now, Biden's came out and said the NYT had debunked the claim. The NYT responded - not so fast, we haven't reached any conclusion.
The walls are closing in.
It's the beginning of the end.
(Some of you CNN and MSNBC viewers, what are some of the other lines that are used to create an impression that something big is happening?)
Never mind - bombshell!
I saw that too. I periodically look at all news outlets, left right and middle to see all angles.
I understand and can appreciate your post. And I thank you for keeping it civil. I wouldn’t vote Trump if he shot anyone anywhere lol but I get the point.
Trump needs a big headline.
Trump wants to use coronavirus aid as leverage to force blue states to change immigration policies
The president mentioned using aid to force states into “sanctuary city adjustments” in comments to the press Tuesday.

You wouldn't vote for him if he shot someone? What if it was Hillary?
On a serious note, you voted for him despite credible accusations of rape from numerous women. Sexual harassment isn't even in doubt as he's had dozens of affairs and dozens of reported indescrtions. He's married to a woman he cheated with behind his previous wife's back and he cheated on her with a porn star while she was pregnant. Hell, he lied about not paying her to keep it quiet.
For me, the fact that he bankrupted a casino was enough to know he was not a talented business man, but beyond that he's notorious for screwing people front and back. He had his charitable foundation shut down for double dealing in a most immoral way.
I mean, you're overlooking a whole lotta immorality to vote for him so is shooting someone the only thing that would change your mind or are there other things? I recall you discussing Biden being a pedophile for sniffing young women. What do the credible accusations against Trump from young women mean to you? What about the lustful eye and atrocious discussions he's had about his daughter?
I'm not trying to be a dick, but I can't figure out where folks draw the line. Thanks for helping me figure it out.
Even tho I’m against sanctuary cities I’d not approve of strong arming in that way. Even tho my approval is not required lol. For anything.
I understand, but I think Trump is one mean, vindictive hombre.
I’ll not only agree I’ll go further.
I think he’s petty, petulant, whiny and generally an arse. I just think he’s the best man/woman for the job out of the crop we have now.
I don't know.. He brags a lot and likes hurting people, but he's just not very bright or well informed. Everything is pretty half-assed with Trump.

Trust me, my opinion that he’s the best of what we have to offer is not a positive thing. It’s sad to me.
When you have people doing things like investigating your high school yearbook - it sort of turns reasonable people off from ever trying to serve. How did we ever get to the point of having such rotten cowards in power?
