Russia continues to mass assets within range of Ukraine - though the official explanations are that they are for various exercises. United States intelligence has noted that Russian operatives in Ukraine could launch 'false flag' operations as a predicate to invasion. The West has pressed for negotiations and on Friday in Geneva, the US Sec. State Blinken will meet with the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.

Certainly the Russian movements evidence some plan - but what is it? Some analysts believe that Putin's grand scheme involves securing Western commitments that NATO would never expand beyond its current composition. Whether that means action in Ukraine or merely the movement of pieces on the chess board remains to be seen.

VIENNA — No one expected much progress from this past week’s diplomatic marathon to defuse the security crisis Russia has ignited in Eastern Europe by surrounding Ukraine on three sides with 100,000 troops and then, by the White House’s accounting, sending in saboteurs to create a pretext for invasion.

But as the Biden administration and NATO conduct tabletop simulations about how the next few months could unfold, they are increasingly wary of another set of options for President Vladimir V. Putin, steps that are more far-reaching than simply rolling his troops and armor over Ukraine’s border.

Mr. Putin wants to extend Russia’s sphere of influence to Eastern Europe and secure written commitments that NATO will never again enlarge. If he is frustrated in reaching that goal, some of his aides suggested on the sidelines of the negotiations last week, then he would pursue Russia’s security interests with results that would be felt acutely in Europe and the United States.

There were hints, never quite spelled out, that nuclear weapons could be shifted to places — perhaps not far from the United States coastline — that would reduce warning times after a launch to as little as five minutes, potentially igniting a confrontation with echoes of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

Accusing me of falling for Russian propaganda is along the lines of your favorite message board tactics. Use general statements and avoid specificity when trying to refute something when you have nothing to say. You never point out what is supposedly Russian propaganda. You just hide behind vague statements and act as if it's a real response.
False. There have been several posts in this thread today specifically refuting what you have been repeating. Specifically. Nothing vague about it. You haven’t responding with anything of substance.

SFL: basically a whole bunch of us refuted your talking points with facts, answered all your questions, and posed a few questions to you. Yet when you returned to this thread you ignored everything that you didn’t want to see and started slinging accusations at us?

    I don’t think that’s an accident.
Lol. What exactly did you refute? That Putin will attack NATO countries eventhough he never has in the past?

The complete lack of self-awareness here is simply stunning. You, who thinks the CIA is feeding all of us our thoughts omnipotently, and thinks thousands of scientists are conspiring to fake out everyone about the origins of Covid, and thinks that the FBI is stirring up insurrections to make MAGA look bad - you - dare to utter that sentence? OMG 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪
No I don't think the CIA has direct communication with yall, but it's obvious that you use the CIA tactic of accusing people who criticize US foreign policy of supporting Putin.

I'm talking about you specifically. You hide behind vague posts when you have nothing to say and act as if people can't see through that transparent message board tactic.

Yeah that fits with the video. Comparing Putin to Hitler. You guys have turned Putin in a super villian who is omnipotent and can't be stopped. It's laughable. This isn't a Tom Clancy novel.
It's a valid comparison. If you're a Poots lackey, you're not gonna be able to see the striking parallels between Hitler and Poots.

That said, Poots is probably closer to Stalin than Hitler, at least in terms of core beliefs and military strategy. As a bloodlusting leader, he compares well with Hitler.

Just about everything you have been posting on here has been refuted. Most of it by others, but yes, I gave you evidence that Putin is threatening Poland.

I also read your Pravda article and showed you that it didn’t support your contention that Washington was behind the failure of the peace talks.

You were given sources that Putin rejected a peace offer, not Washington.

You were shown that Putin isn’t a man of his word, that you cannot believe what he says.

You were shown evidence that Putin intends to wipe the Ukrainian people out. He’s so angered by their defiance that he wants a genocide. He has no intention of letting Ukraine continue to exist at this point.

Should I go on? Aren’t you at least a little embarrassed?

This is just a lie at this point. I quoted two different articles today to refute what you have been saying. One of them is your own article, which didn’t say what you said it did.

This is a US Senator? It’s sickening, is what it is.

edit: I looked him up, he is a retired VA state senator. I feel a little better, but he is obviously working for Putin at this point.

    for effect. True patriot.

"this was not some pre planned attack"... lol
"revolutionary Gov't that conducted that coup" even bigger lol..
"Russian conduct this special operation" LOL
"Putin didn't want to hurt any civillians" this is getting even dumber as the seconds go by..
"Russain Tank would run over the civilians, but the US tanks in Vietnam would have just killed them all" now he's saying Putin and Co have better morals than US militaty..
"and they have never bombed buildy in cener of Kiev".. i guess he won't mention all the civilian building Putin has bombed elsewhere..
"they have been incrediblly cautious in this hoping for peace" I am speechless at this point
peace is easy. Russia pulls out.. that the only solution.
Its like this dude is reading a script that Putin wrote for him...

Quit changing the subject. Just admit you’ve been taken in by Putin apologists.
Says the person who posts things from CIA mouthpieces. You are doing the CIAs work for them on your own by accusing people who criticize US foreign policy of supporting Putin.

Operation mockingbird would be proud of you.
