Russia continues to mass assets within range of Ukraine - though the official explanations are that they are for various exercises. United States intelligence has noted that Russian operatives in Ukraine could launch 'false flag' operations as a predicate to invasion. The West has pressed for negotiations and on Friday in Geneva, the US Sec. State Blinken will meet with the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.

Certainly the Russian movements evidence some plan - but what is it? Some analysts believe that Putin's grand scheme involves securing Western commitments that NATO would never expand beyond its current composition. Whether that means action in Ukraine or merely the movement of pieces on the chess board remains to be seen.

VIENNA — No one expected much progress from this past week’s diplomatic marathon to defuse the security crisis Russia has ignited in Eastern Europe by surrounding Ukraine on three sides with 100,000 troops and then, by the White House’s accounting, sending in saboteurs to create a pretext for invasion.

But as the Biden administration and NATO conduct tabletop simulations about how the next few months could unfold, they are increasingly wary of another set of options for President Vladimir V. Putin, steps that are more far-reaching than simply rolling his troops and armor over Ukraine’s border.

Mr. Putin wants to extend Russia’s sphere of influence to Eastern Europe and secure written commitments that NATO will never again enlarge. If he is frustrated in reaching that goal, some of his aides suggested on the sidelines of the negotiations last week, then he would pursue Russia’s security interests with results that would be felt acutely in Europe and the United States.

There were hints, never quite spelled out, that nuclear weapons could be shifted to places — perhaps not far from the United States coastline — that would reduce warning times after a launch to as little as five minutes, potentially igniting a confrontation with echoes of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

Nope. He was on RT. That makes him a Putin supporter. I'm just going by yall's juvenile rules.

as i suspected, you rooted around the internet for days looking for anything that supports your bias, RAN FULL SPEED to post here as some sort of "see?!?! gotcha" moment.

Only to YET AGAIN, NOT LOOK DOWN to notice your SHOELACES are tied and end up flat on your face.

Yes I know that Schiff was interviewed on RT. That would make him a Putin supporter right?
Your post is nonsense, without context. I know Schiff isn't a Russian shill, unlike Trump and half of the Republican party.

In 2018, Schiff condemned RT https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/interview/adam-schiff/

"We are looking at the whole range of Russian conduct. Some of those tactics we know were employed by the Russians. Others we suspect, and still others we want to investigate, to see whether we can prove or disprove they took place. But certainly we know the Russians used their paid media platform, RT, and other outlets like Sputnik. But they also used paid social media trolls armies. They used bots as a way of influencing public opinion. "

His appearance in 2013, was not promoting RT. He was criticizing Snowden's release of classified documents.

You must be really confused that Schiff is a Putin supporter and he voted for the Ukraine money. It's all part of Putin’s plan.

Says the genius who thinks the US meddling in every country, interfering in at least 82 elections, being involved in just about every war or military conflict is all done to protect democracy and only for altruistic reasons.

This was "I know you are, but what am I."

    ...US meddling in every country,
    False.

interfering in at least 82 elections,
    False.

being involved in just about every war or military conflict
    False.

No matter how many times someone repeats something that is false, it's still false.

The US doesn't not meddle in every country, hasn't interfered in at least 82 elections and isn't involved in just about every war or military conflict. Those are all untrue claims.

He was on RT. That makes him a Putin supporter.
RT is a major propaganda outlet for the Russian government and its foreign policy.

Just being interviewed or having an interview from a news being played on RT does not make someone a Putin supporter.

What makes someone a Putin supporter is if they say supportive things about Putin and/or opposing things about the US while being interviewed or having an interview from a news being played on RT.

Adam Schiff did neither of those as far as I know. I'm pretty sure that's why the poster and their source only provided a screenshot, because what Adam Schiff actually said was most likely pro-US and anti-Putin.

Everyone should listen to people when they show us who and how they are, and we should believe they are who and how they show us to be.

Adults behave like adults. Children behave like children. Independent thinkers behave like independent thinkers. Cult devotees behave like cult devotees.

    It's not complicated.

Really glad to hear this. These long range missiles give Ukraine the ability to strike Russian targets almost everywhere that Russian troops occupy Ukraine. They'll be really helpful in disrupting Russian supplies and supply lines.

Nice try at the deflection, but those aren't members of the US Congress.
Which is worse, waving a tiny Ukrainian flag briefly because you're happy about aid passing OR tearing down the US Flag at the Capitol, dropping it on the ground, and putting a Trump flag in its place?

It’s a simple question, which you conveniently ignored. Shocker I know.
