    I will admit, I didn't know anything about these these strings of attacks and the murder of elderly Asian American out west. Really disturbing. In most cases, they have caught sub human scum that have committed these crimes.
    In the case of the murder of Ratanapakdee, I sincerely hope the death penalty will be sought, although that is not possible in the state of CA.

    Workers said a man walked into the Asian Market at Eastway Drive and The Plaza Monday afternoon and threatened them. One employee said his co-workers are scared to return and now are looking for other jobs.

    Some employees said they are worried about retaliation and that this case could hurt nearby businesses.

    A worker caught the incident on video. The outburst was filled with profanities and racial remarks.

    Police arrested Robert Cooke on Monday. He is accused of threatening to assault an employee because of the employee’s race.

    Surveillance video showed Cooke attempting to steal razors and Q-tips but employees blocked him from leaving, according to an arrest report.

    “You know, this is a misdemeanor and when I get out in a couple of hours. I am going to come back and kill you Asians and break these windows,” Cooke could be heard saying in the video.

    Cook also said the people in the store should go back to their country, according to the arrest report..............

    No, I think the 'hate crime' laws were passed so that leaders could pass a virtue signaling law to show they are doing something while actually not doing anything at all. It is you guys that believe them.
    But yes this dude deserves everything he gets.

    Again with this little chestnut? By your logic you would also be opposed to what are fairly common sentencing aggravators in state statutes that treat crimes differently when they are committed against people over/under a certain age, against police officers, etc. What's the qualitative difference?

    skin color. I don't believe the government should be in the business of determining the level of the crime based on skin color. Call me anti-racist if you would like, but that is the way I was raised.

    I'm sure you will just say all of this history is virtue signaling, but i just wanted to expose you to the history.

    The laws were always responding to the reality of the time they were written.

    Doesn't it already? If a man kills another man because he is green. Does it matter that he killed that man with ill will toward the color green or because he had ill will toward that human? As a lefty, you will say 'yes'. As a righty, I would say it doesn't because he still killed the man because of ill will. What makes ill will toward skin pigment more heinous than ill will toward a human because he didn't like his name (for example).

    Hate crimes are just another way the government can keep claiming and stoking their racial fires that they rely on to survive in power. Also an easy virtue signal for the masses to cover the fact that they are not doing their jobs at all. IMO.
