A couple of days ago, one of the main US-MX border points of entry was blocked by 1000's of migrants demanding entry into the country, which caused chaos for those who lawfully cross the border on business, for work, or for delivery of goods, both ways.

Lawful border crossings are getting progressively worse across the border, and drug cartels are finding it easier to move product, as the CBP has to transfer personnel and efforts to the processing of migrants.

It's not different on MX's South border. Yesterday, ~5000 migrants stormed into Chiapas all the way to the INM building (INM is immigration) running over fences, barricades, and elements of the National Guard. They are now taking over an ecological park in Tapachula, Chiapas, which it's going to be severely affected, as it's been the case with just about everywhere migrants squat.

Unfortunately, Juan Trump (that's Donald Trump's pet name for the President of México) was bamboozled by his "friend" Donald into making MX a "lobby" for migrants trying to reach the U.S.

Many people would argue that migrants are "good for the economy", but that is not always the case. Billions of dollars leave the U.S. economy every year, because migrants send money from the U.S. to other countries to support families there. The biggest destinations are India and MX, to the tune of 100 billion dollars in 2023 alone, according to the Bank of México (kind of like the MX version of the Fed). These billions of dollars do not circulate in the U.S. economy.

Speaking of inflation, the past year, the U.S. dollar has lost ~20% of its value against the MX peso. One of the main reasons for it, is the amount of money being sent to MX from the U.S. And MX is the U.S. 2nd largest trading partner.

Gregg Abbott is a lot of things, but I don't blame him for his attempts at curbing the hordes of people demanding entry into the U.S., even the busing of migrants to other States, making some put their money where their mouth is, like the Mayor of NYC, who was so welcoming of migrants, until he he got a taste, then went crying to the federal government for more money, while the shelters were at full capacity; shelters which BTW serve the NYC poor as well.

And please, no one mention a wall. There is a wall. A wall can be climbed; a wall can be dug under.; holes can be punched through walls.

This is pretty stupid. I can’t see where the courts will let this stand - it seems to be racial profiling. Since most people who are in this country illegally have overstayed a visa, I don’t see how anyone can tell by looking at someone that they may be here illegally. It’s just an excuse to hassle brown people.

Yea, the illegal immigrants is just a cover. This is just an excuse to do illegal search and siezure.

Oh, just TX GOP and Abbott creating an international incident with our largest trading partner. 🤦‍♀️

This article explains the issue very well and why the 5th circuit is operating like some partisan hack.

That is not what administrative stays are for. The Fifth Circuit’s order functions almost identically to a stay pending appeal. They just called it an “administrative stay” because the law will not permit them to issue a stay pending appeal in this case.

Nor is this an uncommon practice in the Fifth Circuit. As Sotomayor writes, “[T]he Fifth Circuit recently has developed a troubling habit of leaving ‘administrative’ stays in place for weeks if not months.”

I don't think the goal is to deport them. I think the goal is to send them to private run, state detainment facilities to be slave labor for companies.

I have no doubt that MAGA would very much like to create a forced labor camp system for "non-Americans" and eventually transition the non-productive prisoners in those camps into the extermination wing. It's what the people they admire do.

The history of the founding of the camp is connected with the initiative by the German chemical concern IG Farbenindustrie A.G. to build its third large plant for synthetic rubber and liquid fuels.

In 2022, Russia pulled in an estimated 19.1 billion rubles, or around $204 million from forced prison labor, The Moscow Times recently reported, citing dating from Russia's finance ministry. That exceeded estimates that Russia made the year prior, when budget makers anticipated bringing in just 15.8 billion roubles from forced prison labor.

Know what else the people MAGA admires like to do?

Russia is planning to loosen its child labor laws to let kids as young as 14 years old hold jobs in the workforce, according to a release from the United Russia party.

Does the above sound familiar? What's likely going to happen to the children of the people TX arrests for being here illegally?

If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's a damned duck. Texas is a fascist state and it's probably going to get worse before it gets better. I give it a year or two before street clashes in Austin make those in Portland pale by comparison.

    I'm guessing that was intentional

There are dozens of reasons that NTAs are prepared but never served on the court.

The most common reason is that the person files an I-821d to apply for TPS.

Just the media playing on the Public’s ignorance again.

    Yet again

Mass Shooting at a school = Nothing we can do

Horrible Police abuse, caught on video = Nothing we can do

White nationalist fueled spike in hate crimes = Nothing we can do

Altar boys getting fisted by their youth pastor (aaaaand the church covering it up for years) = Nothing we can do

Undocumented Latino guy kills young pretty woman = It's showtime!

ATLANTA (AP) — The Georgia Senate on Thursday pushed through bills aimed at forcing local governments to help deport immigrants instead of sheltering them, part of a continuing political response to the killing of a nursing student on the University of Georgia campus allegedly by a Venezuelan man.

The Senate voted 34-18 for House Bill 301, which would punish cities and counties that supporters say are illegally harboring immigrants in the country without permission by cutting off most state aid to the local government and removing elected officials from office. Senators also voted 34-19 for House Bill 1105, which is aimed at compelling jailers to check the immigration status of inmates. Majority Republicans all voted in favor and minority Democrats all voted against.

“This is a public safety issue, make no mistake, and it deals with criminals," said state Sen. John Albers, a Roswell Republican.

The measures return to the House for more debate.

Studies show immigrants are less likely than native-born Americans to commit crimes. But Republicans have targeted those in jail since Jose Ibarra was arrested last month on murder and assault charges in the death of 22-year-old Laken Riley. Immigration authorities say Ibarra, 26, unlawfully crossed into the United States in 2022. It is unclear whether he has applied for asylum.............

Another "gem", this time courtesy of South American migrants.

The MX government created a program to help deported migrants, originally meant for Venezuelans, but now extended to Colombians and Ecuadorians as well, giving them $110 dollars a month for 6 months as humanitarian help, to help them get back to their countries. The amount is similar to an aid package given to MX farmers, and significantly more than what's given to MX senior citizens as a sort of pension.

The latest 3000-some caravan from those S.A. countries, through a spokesperson, qualified the aid as "humiliating", suggesting the MX government instead should provide security, transportation, food, and shelter for them on their way to the U.S. , even suggesting that, instead of signing accords with the governments of Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador, MX should sign accords with the U.S. so they are let into the U.S.

    Limosneros con garrote.

Elections in MX are coming in June. I hope the next president shuts down foot traffic at the border.

Mexico should do a better job managing their southern border.
