Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

IF Trump wins, it will be because people said to themselves: Was I better off during these recent 4 years than when Trump was President?

I wrote in Pee-Wee Herman. Gone but never forgotten.

I also voted for Collin Allred, his loss hurts.

We really needed to run someone completely unconnected to the adminstration. Everyone wants to point towards sexism. I don't think it was that.
Because sexism clearly plays a significant role in it. It isn't all of it, but it's a significant amount of it. Poor emotional/mental health also plays a big role in it and all "sides" and groups have too much of it.

She was, but there wasn't much of a choice. Where the Democrats screwed up was pushing for another Biden term.

"Democrats" didn't push that for that. The Biden admin did, and he was the incumbent.

The one major flaw of her campaign was trying to woo Republicans. It's yet to work yet.

I dunno, I'm definitely much better off now than when Trump was President, but when I went to vote, I wasn't thinking about that. What I was thinking was no way am I voting for the pus grabber in chief.

Has anyone been following Vegas’ odds on the race over the course of the day?

They were -250 Trump at 4pm. -450 at 7:39pm, and now, at 11:07 CST, you can’t find odds anywhere.

    Vegas knew.

No, she wasn't. To think she was is overly simplistic and dumb, in my opinion.

Oh this is just copium. She was 100% handed the nomination. You need to delete your account if you want to argue otherwise.

What a ridiculous statement to make.

You could have made a point about saying women can't win the whitehouse isn't true, and sexist.

I have been surfing ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. Many people were looking past Trump's flaws, his statements, all his negative stuff and they just voted fir him anyway. Kitchen table Economics. It's the economy stupid. Even though inflation is now not an issue, they remember how they felt the first 3 years under Trump and they felt better than the first 3 years under Biden. That's the message I cleaned from channel surfing tonight.

The remaining votes in GA have to break 80% towards Harris and similar in PA. Hard to see this working out for Harris.

WI, MI, PA and AZ are paths to victory

Don’t go to sleep and be surprised when you wake up to a Harris win

She wasn't handed the nomination. With Biden dropping out the delegates had to vote for someone else. They didn't have to vote for Harris, the overwhelming majority of them chose to cast their votes for Harris. They could have chosen someone else.

To say Harris was handed the nomination is like saying Biden was handed the nomination. Most of the delegates were chosen by voters to represent them. The delegates did just that by voting for Harris after Biden dropped out.

What if I told you that the market will continue to see record highs regardless who the President is.
