She wasn't handed the nomination. With Biden dropping out the delegates had to vote for someone else. They didn't have to vote for Harris, the overwhelming majority of them chose to cast their votes for Harris. They could have chosen someone else.

To say Harris was handed the nomination is like saying Biden was handed the nomination. Most of the delegates were chosen by voters to represent them. The delegates did just that by voting for Harris after Biden dropped out.

But she was. The DNC didn't have much choice. And that's no slight to her at all. I supported her. But the DNC I think should have tried to persuade Biden to not run for a second term. I was very vocal before the primaries that Biden should step aside and let some fresh faces run in the primaries.

No one will ever know. I don't know. If she ran on the same messages in her primary campaign as she did in her presidential campaign, I would have voted for her and I think it's possible she wins.

It's irrational and foolish for anyone to think they know what an alternative past would have been, yet people who insist they are rational do it all the time.

He knows that Biden's delegates made it impossible for an open primary. I explained this personally to him.

I’m not so sure that he will tank the market, and that’s a broad statement. Some stocks will drop, others will soar.

Short medical stocks, buy defense. Sell renewables, buy oil and gas.

May not have mattered ultimately vs Trump with any realistic Democratic nominee, but no I doubt she would have won.

Tariffs are highly inflationary and generally bad for growth.

I can't agree with this. There was no other option. And no, the delegates weren't going to vote for anyone else. Saying they could have is a bit much. Technically, I suppose they could have, and I know there was discussion about that before, but ultimately, there wasn't another option because it would have been a huge clown should otherwise.

I dunno, I'm definitely much better off now than when Trump was President, but when I went to vote, I wasn't thinking about that. What I was thinking was no way am I voting for the pus grabber in chief.
