Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Biden needs to issue a blanket pardon to every political appointee and senior executive who has worked for him in this administration.

HRC picks Bernie as her VP, and has him spend the entire campaign in the rust belt. She probably wins.

Both women candidates had major flaws that didn't include their gender.

    I hate these takes tbh.

Sure, they had their flaws. Every candidate does. The fact remains that women are 0-2 vs Trump. Men 1-0, and Trump didn't get anywhere in his attempts to run prior to 2016. I mean, you can hate the take all you want, but end the end, the scoreboard is all that matters in presidential elections.

    more specifically- financial/economic education.

We had this discussion here not long ago. People dont want "complicated" they want "easy" ( i called it path of least resistance )

The economy is complicated, but if you understand the BASICS, then connecting dots its EASY. You may have more "connections" from Point A to Point B, but you will get a better understanding of HOW one thing affects a host of others ( cascading effect ). And you can also easily see how DOING a certain thing will act in reverse.

Too many today are just "tell me, i dont care for you to show me" and here we are.

Economy was number one factor in this election and 70% of the folks that said "economy" have no idea what they are talking about other than "what it costs for a head of lettuce" - WHY does it cost $3? NAh dont care, i just care that it DOES COST $3. Well if you dont understand WHY, then you will never know how to LOWER it.

Unless you are ok with someone telling you " dont worry ill lower it" and thats good enough- which seems to be the case here.

Dude my job is a Network Engineer in a Data Center.

The laziness is shocking. You can increase your salary with certfications.

The amount of people that refuse to do even the easiest of introduction certs to advance their careers, and salaries by 20-30k is mind boggling.

I was talking in this thread at one point about how young men are straight up ignored by Democrats. That stable democracies don't have a majority of sexless, depressed, angry young men.

I said then the women in stem thing in leftist circles is fine in vacuum. If you refuse to then talk about the college graduation gap between men, and women. The whole thing comes across as misandrist.

There is a massive crisis with that demographic that is completely ignored in leftist circles.

because we didnt have social media telling/reminding them AT EVERY TURN, they are/should be sexless, depressed and angry young men.

Aint makin $150,000 at 27? you aint getting none.
Aint gettin none? you gotta be mad, yeah?
Be mad bro- you SHOULD be makin $150,000 and rakin in all the honeys. But ya aint. So you aint no ALPHA.

Next best thing you can do is "align" with an ALPHA- to be viewed as part of that "Community"

Not so dissimilar to a gang.

Yeah, we aren't going to agree on this totally... especially identity politics part... I think the vast majority of the people in America give no shirts that she is a woman or has darker skin... Identity politics is a dying game... For the fleeting few that actually still care about this... They end up eating their own...

She was a flawed candidate despite her lack of penis or skin color... and I am not going to make a list of all those flaws... because it's a pointless exercise now. Did her identity play a part in a small number of idiots decision making process... Yeah, probably... but it was far from a deciding / major contributing factor based on what we saw last night.

Kamala's gender didn't make a difference, but the only way Democrats can win the presidency is if they run a man ....

Same old, same old. Call it whatever you want to make yourself feel comfortable about it. And that's because I didn't even bring up race, lol.

Calling BS now... If the Dems had ran Michelle Obama with Shapiro as her running mate... you guys would be throwing a party right now. LOL

You can rationalize the excuses all you want... She was an unpopular VP with flaws galore, tied to an unpopular POTUS in a country looking for change to the tune of 70%... That's why she lost.

Same only im 40 something. Just so it's clear I was talking about the comment you responded to....not yours. His comment is pretty rich considering who he voted for.
    I voted for Harris "richard".

I'm tired of the dems losing...and we'll keep losing if we keep pushing agendas like sex changes for illegal immigrant transsexual convicts (sorry incarcerated persons) instead of issues that affect everyone...but hey let's just keep doing what we doing...shirts been working great since 2016

Crazy part is that it might not even be her policy, but she gave them the soundbite to use against them and make them look insane. Which is ironic because all the other side is...is insane.

    You can think that.

The truth is Kamala is smart, effective, thoughtful and would be a very good leader for this country. She ran a winning campaign and did just about everything right. She just didn't win. No satire.
You say that but she was a laughing stock in her primary when she ran for president, 2 years ago the dems were wanting to replace her as VP for Biden next run because she was such a mess. Even people on here spoke about that. She wasn’t even the first choice to replace Biden, she was the easiest. She was not the candidate most dems wanted, she ended up there by default. If Biden would have decided not to run again last year she would not have even been in the top 3 for this election. So to make it sound like she was this amazing great choice and proven leader who ran a great campaign is dishonest. She had a few months and stumbled the entire way.

Sorry, but it isn't that simple. That is the excuse you hear a lot, but the economy was good on almost every metric! If it was about the economy, Harris should've won by a landslide.

More like too many folks get their "real news" on the economy from Fox.....

Except gender does matter to the people who are voting. I've seen all of the evidence I need to see. The young white males I know talk somewhat quietly among themselves that they don't want a woman leading the country. And they got out to vote in larger numbers than I expected.

I don't think gender is the entire reason she got something like 20 million less votes than Biden did while Trump basically remained the same, but I do think it was definitely a leading factor.

I see you live in the alternate reality, which has not become our reality.

"stumbled the entire way" Lol. Okay.

Not to change the subject but man the data center industry is BOOMING! We can’t keep up with the amount of construction everywhere! Good on you for choosing that career. The sky’s the limit. Between data centers and EV battery plants the construction world will boom for the next 15 years at least!

Yeah, not buying any of that BS.

No rationalization, just the obvious truth you guys hate so much. I'll keep saying though because it's true.

That can't possibly be true. The economy is in the tank, or so I am told by voters. 🥱

We can blame the Democrats and the Inflation Reduction act, Chips Act and Infrastructure act for these horrible developments. Until Republicans take credit for it, that is.

You're entitled to that opinion... But even the most staunch partisans knew prior to her "nomination" that she was a flawed candidate in many ways.... I'll digress with you there.

I kind of chuckle at this when you look at the candidate that won the election.....flawed? That is hilarious.....we've got flawed to infinity now about to take control of the WH.....
I don’t think thats a master plan that is made up to scare people. Just like democrats want to make us all socialist and communist.

Yes we all want the same thing or close to it. just neither side is willing to give an inch because they feel that inch is too important.

Right.....you couldn't be more wrong....don't know if they will be successful, if the guardrails will hold, but I have few doubts that they are going to try to implement it.....have you even read Project 2025? Is that what you want for this country?

One side has completely gone insane and wants a Christian fascist nation and to relegate women to 2nd class citizens, the other side has it's faults but hasn't gone batshart crazy....

That's what we thought back in 1998 :hihi:
I was part of a $1.5 billion catastrophe in 2001 in The District. Best 12 months of my working life... we set a Quake server and a Command and Conquer server...
