The problem was that Harris couldn't defend the policies that got inflation down. It is down to about 2.1%, but Trump will take credit for it, because his idiot followers will believe he did it. Harris should've acknowledged that their policies contributed to inflation, but they were needed to prevent a recession, and in the long term got inflation down with a soft landing. Had Trump been in office, we would've landed hard, and probably would have had a recession. I predict a recession or possibly a depression coming if Trump implements his promises.

But the reality is that even with inflation coming down.. that doesn't mean prices really came back down. It just means that inflation slowed back to normal levels but now with a higher baseline.

I do think the administration is probably under credited for pulling off a soft landing.. but that just doesn't register when shirt is expensive.

It's hard to say the party was rejected, just the incumbent adminstration.

this is simple. civics is a joke in our school system. When almost half of the public has no idea of the three branches of govt it is not hard to figure out where the votes come from. Truly the schools have failed us for ages. if you have no idea then you truly can not make an informed choice because you are an uninformed idiot.

If you have no idea of the three branches of govt then the stock market is way over your head. inflation and prices was not as much inflation as a money grab. When profit is thru the roof that is what it is and profit is thru the roof.

Example changed a power steering pump on my old truck over the weekend. it is the second one for that truck. the first one in 2019 cost about 40 bucks with tax and fluid was under 5 a quart. local that pump at the same store is now a hundred more at 137 and name brand fluid is over 10 bucks. that is a money grab not inflation. when more cars have sold with that pump over time the price should go down not go up go up 242.5%.

Your trump voter could not figure out that was a 242.5% price hike. or even that oreily stock has gone from 390. to 1167. in the same time as that pump price jump. like i said money grab.

you can not have informed voters when simple stuff like that is over your head and the mind bending easy oart the branches of govt 47% of adults can not name them when asked.

Unless your plan is to get katie porter to break simple stuff down with a white board for them also they will always be fooled. They need education.

One other thing I hope that Biden does is not extend one ounce of courtesy to Trump. Don't work with his transition team, don't go to the inauguration ceremony, don't welcome him to the White House. Don't do one damn thing to turn the other cheek. Be bitter and let them figure it out.

I know he won't do any of that, because he's too damn decent. But I wish that he would.

Right, but the alternative to get prices down is far worse. She needed to claim that wage growth was the greatest in history of the world. Half kidding, but she definitely hid from it, rather than confronting the problems they faced, and how well they handled it.

I'm not sure which party you think is ignoring the things you pointed out. Unemployment is 4%. Grocery prices have stabilized and even dropped in some areas. Interest rates were coming down, and Harris was going to try to increase the supply of homes to make them more affordable. Democrats want to help unions. Democrats want to reduce the cost of college. Harris and Biden wanted to reform immigration policy. Asylum is legal immigration, but Democrats proposed making it harder via legislation.

Trump wants to deport immigrants, including legal ones. That will raise grocery prices. It may drop unemployment marginally, but many of those are farm workers. He hasn't proposed anything to make college affordable. He certainly won't help union workers. Any new plants created due to tariffs will be offset by the ones that will have to close due to drops in exports. What will Trump do for blacks and Latinos, besides deport many Latinos?

I have never voted for Trump... I don't vote for party.... I wasn't speaking for myself... I am commenting on what the electorate did and why they did it from my perspective.

Talking points and partisan assumptions are irrelevant now... He will have the WH, Senate, House (Likely), and a conservative majority SC....

We are going to find out in short order what's what... I don't know if you are right or wrong... But for the sake of the country... I hope you're wrong... everyone should.

Maybe if Trump actually implements his policies, it'll be another instance of the dog catching the cart like when Roe was overturned, and led to big wins in 2022 by the Democrats. The problem is that millions of people will be hurt in the process, so I can't hope for that.

Reflecting, I wish Trump had won re-election in 2020 rather than this. We could've bypassed the election denial and January 6th. Trump would have had to deal with the massive inflation instead of Biden (inflation was a certainty after COVID and the stimulus payments). The country may not have gotten so divided.
