Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Eh, I've done that before more than a few times and I'm pretty healthy.

That said, him forking up makes me smile.
I was struck by how slow he walked and how tired he seemed. Definitely looking his age in that clip.

From Admiral McRaven: (edited to fix error in rank)

“In today's WSJ, former General William McRaven, one of America's greatest modern warriors, writes that Trump fails every single test of character that the military reveres and that he betrays George Washington's model of civility and discipline that is the model of the American military. "Mr. Trump has no self-control. He lashes out at immigrants, religious groups, and military heroes. He lies with reckless abandon." He compares Trump to a "disturbed 15-year-old boy." He says he won't be voting for Trump, adding "I think George Washington would agree."”

I know this is a very stressful time for a lot of us but are you okay? Sincerely.

    lol yea.

I’m just done pretending that people being stupid forks deserve to be heard.

Trump wins because he turns out the idiots on his side.

If the left is too good to stoop to the level required to turn out its idiots, we may as well give up.

But oh yea, off only Kamala had a more detailed plan, we could have pulled it off. Pete 2028 with his 550 point plan, so we can lose to someone making buttplug jokes.

    I’m fine, I’m laughing while I type.

    We are probably screwed though,

I'm frequently critical, but also frequently complimentary. I try to be objective. Many on here seem to think any criticism is treachery. I think it is needed to improve.

Regarding similar anecdotes, I pointed out that I heard a couple of interviews of Puerto Ricans that complained that Trump waited 2 days before his campaign distanced themselves from the comic, and had decided to support Harris, and that the campaign has gotten a lot of flak. I also pointed out that a non-partisan Puerto Rican group just endorsed Harris because of it, and they had never endorsed. My point has been since the first post on this topic is that this will hurt the campaign and neuter the comic's damage unless she quickly repudiated it. She did that this morning, but then lost some ground by not answering the question about how the voters would feel.

I know that Trump has attacked many Americans, but that's accepted by his voters, but some of the wafflers are still up for grabs. It may not have any affect, but the pollster Frank Luntz was just on CNN saying that he thinks it will drive turnout. I was more concerned that it might lower turnout for Harris among the wafflers, but it may also motivate some people to vote for Trump. That's why she needs to finish cleaning up the mess that Biden created. Whether it is fair or not, or whether I can prove it or not, it is best not to take the risk. If we wait for polls to prove it, it'll be far too late. I think it is just sensible to finish cleaning it up. Just say she understands why they would be offended. She could also add that Trump has attacked many Americans too, but she doesn't roll that way.
    Uck-Fay the Afflers-way.

This election is about getting your people out to vote.

The undecideds aren't kingmakers this time.

If women get out and pull the lever, Harris wins going away.

    If they don't, Cheato's got a shot.

That’s offensive to disturbed 15 year old boys.

I think you’re exactly right. I hope that women turn out and send the message that needs to be sent.

Take any demographic of voter, Soccer mom, LGBTQ, pro life, pro choice, teachers, doctors, billionaires..

If you turn out your idiots, you’ve already got half of every individual demographic. Most of the non idiots know which party they are voting for before the campaign starts, and they are always the most likely voters.

By not focusing on the idiots, we are wasting time and effort on the least persuadable voters, just because they are the “likely voters”.

Likely voters don’t swing close elections. It’s the unlikely voters (idiots).

Trump has figured this out, and we better catch up.

We are starting to lose some of our idiots, and they know what we think about Trump supporters, they aren’t coming back.

Or we can have a discussion about the electoral college as any hope of changing it passes us by.
