I said that was a good statement. I didn't mischaracterize her response. I said the problem was she didn't answer the follow-up question about how voters feel. That is why it wasn't enough. The right-wing media is harping on her not following up. It would've been easy to say yes, I understand why they felt insulted. Hopefully she will say that the next time it is asked.

On the contrary. Her message is to get away from insults like the one Biden seemingly gave yesterday. By association, it tarnishes her image as the one that doesn't want to go back to an era of insults. She repudiated the insult, but she didn't acknowledge how it made people feel, so she hasn't completely cleaned up the mess.

Just starting to deal with it? You’re really hellbent on a narrative. You might recall she gave one of the most important speeches of her life last night, while the outrage about this was being manufactured. In the time since, Biden cleared it up and she’s addressed it.

If this is the thing that pushes undecided voters away from her, then they were never serious about her. I think you’re projecting your own rigid demands of her.

Of course MAGA wants to talk about this and of course a disappointing segment of the media will go along. The reality is that we’re buried under newsworthy happenings and that’s just going to continue between now and the election. I’ve taken breaks here and there but IIRC, Lapaz wanted a brokered convention and wasn’t enthusiastic about Harris. Possible I have that wrong or his view has change.

It’s troubling because we’d all like to believe that an overwhelming majority of Americans would reject Trump (long ago, certainly now) but when you consider our nation’s history, it’s not exactly as surprising as we’d prefer it to be.

I am not making a prediction - I have my own concerns that Trump could somehow emerge as president-elect - but 2012 aggregate final polling had Obama and Romney within a percentage point of each other; a statistical dead heat. Obama received nearly 5,000,000 more votes and won with a 126 electoral advantage.

Yea, I realize the polling can be off, but considering the mountain of evidence/reasons/etc. to distance oneself from the former President, he still commands almost half the population of America. We are not talking "fringe group" numbers. We are talking 10's of millions of people.

I can type this thought and be almost 100% certain it would hold true - No October surprise could derail the Trump train. He is so locked in with his base that a video of him sacrificing a baby on the alter of the devil would lose him one vote. This is obviously an exaggeration, but you get the point I'm trying to make.

I have an answer, you may not like the answer but this is the short version of how I believe we got to this point.

There's a majority of right-wing conservatives that has been, for over 5 decades, conditioned to believe what they are being told by conservative media (Radio & TV) instead of believing with their own eyes and witnessing actual progress.

Despite the fact that the US economy is, IN FACT, the largest, fastest growing economy coming out of the pandemic, right-wing media has convinced their listeners that Bidenomics have failed and we are living in a depression!

Until we stop treating MSM and Right-Wing media as equal entities, these false disillusions will continue.
