Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is suggesting he will have significant influence on American agriculture policy if Donald Trump is elected president, the latest in a series of roles he has envisioned for himself in a second Trump administration.

Kennedy, an anti-vaccine activist and environmentalist who ran for president as an independent before endorsing Trump, on Monday posted a video on social media that he filmed outside the U.S. Department of Agriculture headquarters in Washington.

“Corporate interests have hijacked the USDA dietary guidelines to make natural unprocessed foods merely an afterthought. That’s one reason why 70% of the American diet now consists of ultraprocessed food. We’re going to change that,” Kennedy said, before listing off a series of policy ideas that would seem to run counter to much of what Trump’s Agriculture Department did in his first administration.

“When Donald Trump gets me inside the building I’m standing outside of right now, it won’t be this way anymore. American agriculture will come roaring back, and so will American health.”

The Trump campaign has said in a statement that formal discussions of who would serve in a second Trump administration are “premature.” But the former president himself has said at recent rallies that RFK Jr. is someone who could help his administration if he wins…..

All I know is I'm going to be a nervous wreck on Election Day

My only issue with that is this:

Is just the cult enough for Trump to steamroll through the primaries? The non cult GOP had their chance to rally around anyone else and chose not to (either by not voting in the primaries or by voting for him in the primaries)
Just the Republicans, Trump cultists and non, are not enough for Trump to win. The demographics turning out to vote in droves are not likely Trump voters and it shows that not likely Trump voters are highly motivated to vote, at a record level in some states. I think Trump will lose on the votes, so we have to make sure that he doesn't win with his election fraud and subversion.

A town in Massachusetts has sent a cease-and-desist letter to a property owner who projected a “Trump 2024” sign onto the side of a municipal water tower.

Officials said the town of Hanson does not endorse candidates, nor does it allow political signs to be displayed on municipal property.

Hanson Town Administrator Lisa Green said the town first became aware that a resident was projecting the image of a political sign supporting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump from their property onto the Hanson municipal water tower on Oct. 11. Officials have declined to identify the individual.

“This misleads the public into believing that this activity is sanctioned by or condoned by the town,” Green said in a statement Saturday.

The town said that it is issuing a fine of $100 per day until the activity is stopped. Those fines have been accruing, town officials said…….

the MSM is sane-washing and has been for last 6 months.

At the end of the day, MSM doesnt care who wins out, because their revenues are generated by clicks/views/purchases. The last 9 years have been a BOOM to revenue, for left, right and central players.

I keep reading articles from well-balanced, smart and concise writers that are all starting to point to this as a repeat of 2016

The ONLY thing that will save us, is the young folks getting out to vote on Election day. Thats it.

if you are willing to ignore the warning signs, i get it. I dont want to see the tea leaves any more than you. But they are there. Pay attention and prepare accordingly.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

some of our media institutions are failing us. bigly. They have found that division and chaos creates more revenue than pointing out the obvious truths. So they roll with what sells.

But once you go down that road, you cant simply switch gears - it has to be a gradual shift. If Harris wins, the shift will start to show - but it will take YEARS to return to civility and normalized discourse - and thats if we EVER do.
The warning signs are coming from the same people that are sane washing. There warning signs should be ignored in my opinion. Look at the objective data on small donations and voter turnout so far. Based on that, the objective voting indicators look nothing like 2016. In fact, so far they paint a worse picture for Trump than 2020.

We won't know until we know, but the warning signs we get from news outlets is solely to raise anxiety to raise consumption. It's self serving and manipulative, it is not a public service announcement.

A lot of people fell for the misinformation in 2016. Most got wiser and didn't fall for it in 2020. Even more are wiser now and don't seem to be fighting back in 2024.

i want you, @MT15, @coldseat to be TOTALLY RIGHT on this.

im just so jaded right now- i have had to take a few days off X over weekend, just to re-calibrate. The amount of insanity that i keep subjecting myself to in the form of clips from his rallies, town hall, econ forums is not healthy and has built up a ton of skepticism in me.

To the point im just like "eff it, ill wait to see Nov 6" and write off all this other stuff.

I have to believe the electorate in this country is smarter than im thinking it is at this juncture. I have to.
The only tweets I ever see are the ones posted on this site. Just remember that if Twitter and social media in general were an accurate reflection of the majority of people and "in real life," then we'd all be living in a real life version of Grand Theft Auto. There's too much crazy out their in life, but it's not nearly as bad as life in the Twitter and social media verse.

to your point....Stephen Miller just posted this

This is directed specifically to those who didnt see/watch/hear ANY clips

I'm not great at reading people's tells, but Stephen Miller's tell stands out like a real life woolly mammoth in the kiddie pool. Anytime Stephen Miller ends a thought with "period" or "full stop," Stephen Miller is lying what little arse that he has off.

The State Election Board last month passed the rule requiring that three poll workers each count the paper ballots — not votes — by hand after the polls close. The county election board in Cobb County, in Atlanta’s suburbs, had filed a lawsuit seeking to have a judge declare that rule and five others recently passed by the state board invalid, saying they exceed the state board’s authority, weren’t adopted in compliance with the law and are unreasonable.

In a ruling late Tuesday, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney wrote, that the so-called hand count rule “is too much, too late” and blocked its enforcement while he considers the merits of the case.

Harris-Walz campaign is showing America who Trump is. They aren't relying on news outlets to do it. Both Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden made the mistake of relying on news outlets to expose Trump for who he is. I think Biden trusting the CNN moderators to check Trump in the first debate what stunned Biden the most and caused him to do so poorly. He was constantly staring at the moderators like he was waiting for them to jump in. Of course, they didn't.

Harris-Walz are bypassing news outlets to speak directly to voters. The news outlets are pissed off about that, because of ego and fear. Their egos tell them that everyone has to go through them and they get to decide what people hear and think. Their fear is that Harris-Walz are bypassing them and it's working very well for them, so it creates doubt about just how importent news outlets are in shaping public opinion and actions. They don't like that at all.

Even the most recent studies continue to show that the people we know and spend time with face-to-face have more influence on us than any other factor. Want to know why cult leaders and online radicals prey on the emotionally or physically isolated? It's because they are easier to influence, because they lack the face-to-face influence that most of us have.

After the Heritage Foundation Justices on the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs Wade, women across the nation organized and campaigned quietly on a grass roots, direct networking basis. They ignored news outlets and news outlets igonred them. Now that early voting data is coming in, we see signs that the women have tranistioned from "coming" to "arriving" in full force. Women outnumber men in eligible voters. Most of them are voting for Harris. A lot of men are going to vote for Harris. So far, the turnout numbers look great for most of us and bad for Trump and his minority cult.

It's great that we are getting a visual, flesh and blood representation of the voter turnout. This will have more impact on shaping people's perceptions than just data will have. We have to win on perception just as much as we have to win with votes. Trump and his minions are going to base their attack of the election on perception, not the actual data.

*RFK Jr., you brought this on yourself. You have no one to blame but yourself.

First up on RFK Jr.'s agenda to update the USDA dietary guidelines is to add a recommended daily amount of roadkill.

None of it will matter. He hates who they hate. That's all that matters. He's crazy as a bed bug but as long as he fearmongers on the left, migrants, blacks, and gays/trans he will win. That's all a huge chunk of America cares about.
Negative waves. That asine Criminal will not win. NO. NOT.

I voted today, I'm done. See what positive thoughts can do.

Done. Finished. Harris will be President.

    Maybe she already is President.

WWL had a political science professor as a guest this morning. He says the race is still very tight and too close to call. Harris
will easily win the popular vote, but sadly that's doesn't count. He went on to say it was possible for Trump to have a
comfortable electoral win. Like OP below I'm going to be a nervous wreck for the next 3 weeks.
That's a waste of 3 weeks. Vote early and go fishing.

If anyone believes for one second that Vance and Trump’s cabinet (filled with Project 2025 authors) would hesitate for one second to use the 25th Amendment to shove Trump aside, then they are naive to a fault. There’s plenty of evidence that Trump is in mental decline.

How would MAGA nation react to that?
