Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

Couple of videos of people leaving the LI Trump rally while you can hear him droning on in the background. Harris shoild release these saying “told ya!”

In that first video, is it cold in New Jersey right now? A lot of those people had coats on. That might not be recent. It just struck me as odd. Of course I'm in Texas and it's still in the 90's here.

Yeah, one of these things is not like the others! That 1st one is not from the same time as that 2nd clip.

Donald Trump infamously said at the presidential debate he had the “concept of a plan” to replace Obamacare. As is often the case when Trump commits verbal self-harm, it fell to J.D. Vance to turn his car wreck of a statement into an intelligible position.

What Vance came up with is not only surprising but, if understand properly, far more damaging than Trump’s original statement. The Trump plan, according to Vance, is to permit insurance companies to discriminate against people with preexisting conditions.

Vance explained the Trump plan during an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker: “He, of course, does have a plan for how to fix American health care, but a lot of it goes down, Kristen, to deregulating insurance markets, so that people can actually choose a plan that makes sense for them.”

Vance is advocating a partial or complete return to the system that existed before Obamacare. In that world, prior to 2014, it was very difficult to find affordable coverage unless you were on Medicare, Medicaid, or got insurance through your employer. There was a market for individual insurance, and it was possible to buy plans if you didn’t get coverage through a government plan or through work. But that market was dominated by “adverse selection” — the only way insurers could make money was to weed out any customers likely to need medical care.

Cheap plans could be sold to people who were young and healthy. Oftentimes, those plans denied coverage for any preexisting condition, or had hidden limits on the amount the insurer would have to pay, so if you got very sick, you would discover you faced ruinous costs not coverage by your insurance.............

That last part describes zombie insurance, and zomby insurance is not insurance at all. Zomby insurance is what we had in California for an individual market prior to Obamacare and I did without that con job.

Obamacare is good, now the problem is with zomby homeownership insurance, one has fire insurance until they need fire insurance.

I no longer have fire insurance, and at this point I don't care. I don't need a zomby kind of friend.

Yeah, I think the second one is from earlier this summer. Once the sun goes down, it cools off pretty quick this time of year. I’m not in NY, but similarly situated north-south wise.

Trump is so completely stupid - this happened to the Biden campaign. And it was unsolicited contact, which was ignored by the few individuals as looking like a phishing attempt.

He sounds really desperate, seems to be begging Harris to drop out, lol.

yep npw ots just useful. unlike when he got Clinton's info and used it and asked Russia for more.

Not surprised considering the make-up of the Teamsters. Hell, not surprised they didn't outright endorse Trump considering the president popped up on the RNC stage.
imagine supporting someone who hates unions and would love nothing more than eliminating them altogether..smh..

This would have been nicer back in early August. Interest rate cuts wont impact mortgages till November with this change. Auto loans will see an immediate impact though.
Americans have a record level of credit card debt. A lot of people will see some finance charges relief through the next 30 days. A lot more people have credit card debt than people who have mortgages.

WASHINGTON, Sept 18 (Reuters) - The International Brotherhood of Teamsters said on Wednesday that the union will not endorse any U.S. presidential candidate despite polling that showed a majority of members backed Republican candidate Donald Trump over Democrat Kamala Harris.

The 1.3 million-member union - which represents truck drivers and a wide range of other workers ranging from airline pilots to zookeepers - had released a national electronic poll of its members earlier on Wednesday that showed rank-and-file members preferred Trump over Harris by 59.6% to 34%.

The Teamsters have endorsed every Democratic candidate for president since 2000 but have on occasion endorsed Republicans, including President Ronald Reagan in 1984 and Vice President George H.W. Bush in 1988. It is the first time since 1996 the union is not making an endorsement.

Most major unions have endorsed Harris, including the United Auto Workers union. The AFL-CIO, which represents 60 unions and 12.5 million workers, endorsed Harris in July.

The Teamsters' executive board endorsement had been widely anticipated because it was seen as a factor in a handful of battleground states that will decide the Nov. 5 election, including Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania, where union membership is strong.

"Neither major candidate was able to make serious commitments to our union to ensure the interests of working people are always put before Big Business," Teamsters President Sean O'Brien said in explaining the union's decision. "We sought commitments from both Trump and Harris not to interfere in critical union campaigns or core Teamsters industries — and to honor our members’ right to strike — but were unable to secure those pledges."

Harris campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt noted that despite the national union decision, some Teamsters locals have endorsed Harris. "When she is elected president, she will look out for the Teamsters rank-and-file no matter what - because they always have been and always will be the people she fights for," Hitt said.

The Trump campaign cited the Teamsters poll data saying it showed the "vast majority of rank-and-file working men and women in this important organization want President Donald Trump back in the White House."..................

If while traveling you were to stop at a real truck stop instead of a car stop, this situation would become obvious. You would get to talk with real drivers, the kind who drive all day and night.

    They aren't average people.

If you think the Teamsters are adrift, you ought to see the the Glaziers Architectural Metal and Glass Workers Union.

They're only a union in name, they do that so they can work on union job sites. The big big job sites, those glass skyscrapers.

Glazers are glass workers. I've never met one who wasn't a Republican.

First off, he didn’t resign in disgrace but that is not the point. The Biden administration didn’t take the information so Donnie can go pound salt.

More than 100 Republican former national security and foreign policy officials on Wednesday endorsed Kamala Harris for president in a joint letter, calling Donald Trump “unfit to serve” another term in the White House.

Former officials from the presidential administrations of Republicans Ronald Reagan, George H W Bush, George W Bush and Donald Trump, as well as Democrats Bill Clinton and Barack Obama voiced their support for Harris, the Democratic nominee for president in this November’s election. They were joined by some former GOP members of Congress.

The letter said: “We believe that the president of the United States must be a principled, serious, and steady leader.”

It went on: “We expect to disagree with Kamala Harris on many domestic and foreign policy issues, but we believe that she possesses the essential qualities to serve as president and Donald Trump does not. We therefore support her election to be president.”

Among the signees were former defense secretaries William Cohen and Chuck Hagel, who served in the Clinton and Obama administrations, respectively. Others include William Webster, a former CIA and FBI director under the Reagan and first Bush administrations, as well as Michael Hayden, a former CIA and NSA director under the younger Bush and the Obama administrations.

“We firmly oppose the election of Donald Trump. As president, he promoted daily chaos in government, praised our enemies and undermined our allies, politicized the military and disparaged our veterans, prioritized his personal interest above American interests, and betrayed our values, democracy, and this country’s founding document,” the letter added.….

Another wellness check for Trump? Wall St ingested some nitrous oxide to open the day.

Im sure that has Trump just reeling right now. All new highs to start the day- Dow, NASDAQ and SP500

The one stock that DIDNT get the memo? Thats right - DJT- opened down 4% and off 14% from its IPO and over 75% from high.

THAT has to add to the humiliation. OR not- either way i think its hilarious that the entire market is on over-drive except his own stock.
