    Everything I've seen and heard says that the split second Donald Trump is no longer president there will be flood of charges waiting for him

    And if he resigns and Pence pardons him there are a ton of state charges as an understudy waiting in the wings if the fed charges can't perform

    What do you think the likelihood of there being a jail sentence?

    In every movie and TV show I've ever seen, in every political thriller I've ever read about a criminal and corrupt president there is ALWAYS some version of;

    "We can't do that to the country",

    "A trial would tear the country apart",

    "For the nation to heal we need to move on" etc.

    Would life imitate art?

    Even with the charges, even with the proof the charges are true will the powers that be decide, "we can't do that to the country"?

    Then we get to the “ok, let the court decide that.”

    Here’s a different way of looking at it. Let’s say that the FBI did plant some documents. How can Trump lost those documents without knowing they are there?

    Trump has a detailed property receipt from the DOJ. He can start with those categories and state in an affidavit if any of it was planted.

    Also, how is Trump going to prove documents were planted?

    It's stupid even entertaining this from Trump given how much we know he lies, and that he's obviously lying here. He has no credibility to make this accusations.

    Look, I’m not saying that I believe anything was planted. We all know that is bs.

    I’m looking at it from a technical matter, out of curiosity.

    As for the detailed receipt, one line from that detailed receipt says “396 Government Documents/Photographs without classification markings.” How is Trump supposed to say a particular document in that group was planted unless he can see what those 396 documents were?

    He should at least have to state what be believes was planted, how it was planted and what evidence he has that something was planted. Just saying "things" were planted shouldn't be enough for the DOJ to have to defend itself against baseless accusations from Trump just meant to delay the process.

    The other option is to just own up to what you did and stop lying. Then we wouldn't have to deal with any of this mess. Everyone knows there were no planted documents, Trump included. He is just trying to drag this out long enough so he can become president again and become immune from prosecution on these charges.
     
    This doesn’t apply to anything with classified markings, correct? Those were settled by the circuit court. This is just a squabble about whether any of those documents were his personal property or subject to atty-client or any dubious exec privilege as I understand it. I didn’t think it would slow down the criminal investigation.
     


    Not sure if this is accurate but would be huge if true. A few days ago she declare on video that she wasn't trumps lawyer. She was in the room when they hatched j6. Obviously when she realized she's going to jail bc of her signature she wised up

    It’s a really narrow application and poorly supported. Doubt even Clarence will be interested but the chance of being granted is very low.
