I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

It would be even sadder if the Democrats screw this up and we loose both ways.

They been batting 1000 so far...

But aside from that, you guys are more concerned with this virus getting Trump out of office than approximately 60% of our population becoming sick, shutting down our economy, schools and business' while killing 2% of our countries citizens...

if there ever was an example Trump Derangement Syndrome this has to be it...

Plus Chinese manufacturing has been moving to even poorer countries- not sure what would reverse that trend

Yeah that all sounds great until we realized we can't afford 120 dollar hoodies. Without a major change in pay.

The problem is all the small parts for stuff manufacturers is produced in China and assembled elsewhere.

I can't remember where I read it but right before the stuff got crazy in China jaguar the car company flew bunches of people over commercially to bring back suitcases full of small electronic parts that they were low on.

Think about that now you have potentially all these exposed people for a dimmer switch or something else stupid in a jaguar.

I dislike Trump intensely, but I'm going to go ahead and say I'd rather not see a national health epidemic or destitute retirees desperately seeking jobs in their 70s or a second collapse of the global financial system in 12 years just to own him.

Maybe since chinese production is down due to this virus, perhaps it shows how much we rely on chinese goods and not enough of our own...

Imagine if there ever was a war where China was our enemy and all imports stopped. We'd be screwed big time...

I have come to the realization a long time ago I am gonna have to earn till death.

Briefly we got too many politicians making too many new laws.... Mandatory and forced insurance with insurance rates that are astronomical... Too many people living off the system..

This market has very little to do with China. its a Global issue now. The market is reacting to the the issues to be forthcoming both domestically and abroad with almost every continent.

Except Antarctica - which has yet to report a case. So unless you are in the market for a glacier, you will be affected in some fashion.

Just from reading the CDC updates it seems they are engaging in their potential pandemic response as planned. But maybe I am missing something.

Actually, I was just thinking that I have not seen this group so excited since the early days of that General Flynn indictment thread.
