Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/17/sup...y-that-refuses-to-work-with-lgbt-couples.html

    • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
    • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

I wanted to gage the limit of commitment to equality. Those men that are for true equality would have no issues in dating a trans woman. IN some circles you may be labeled a transphobe if you do not date transwomen. It is an important questionb. I am just using the Socratic method to have a discussion.

If a 23-year-old man refused to date a 60-year-old woman, would he be ageist and against equality? What about a 62 year-old-man refusing to date a 19 year-old-woman?

What if a woman was not attracted to blonde men so refused to date them? Is this woman no longer committed to equality?

Yeah, it just happened, so I am not sure how ridiculous it is.

The police were not involved because the School Board wanted and got the trans bathroom policy they wanted. Now the police are involved, the superintendent is probably going to be sued by the state and several board members have stepped down.
Remember this too, this was first reported by an actual investigative journalist. The journalist was also funded by the Daily Wire, a conservative news source. That probably explains why it was not reported and has barely blinked on the MSM.

And yes, I think men go in mens restrooms and women get their restrooms, pretty simple really.
Do you think trans people are more likely to rape than non trans?

Aren't you worried about homosexuals' men using the same bathroom as little boys?

What about Catholics? should they be able to sue the same bathrooms as little boys?

And the main reason I'd never date a trans woman is that there would never be the possibility of having children. I've never seen any really attractive trans women either. I could probably see myself sleeping with a trans woman if she was attractive enough, but not having a relationship because she doesn't have the tools necessary for reproduction.
In some circles the above statement would be labeled transphobic. You could adopt children

Does anyone give the consideration that as parents of a female child, you might not want to expose her to a penis at 6 years old.

Do you think people in a woman’s restroom just drop trou out in the open? Have you even ever been in a woman’s restroom?

When my husband would travel with our daughter before she was old enough to go by herself, he would take her into the men’s restroom. I really don’t get the big deal.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a penis other than my own in a public restroom.

If you are talking about that spa incident, it’s not really a trans issue.

    1. You are fibbing

    2. What do you mean it’s not a trans issue? It’s the issue being discussed. Men with a penis should not be in a restroom or spa or dressing room etc with girls/young woman/my mother. Their self identification means squadooosh if they have a hanger.

    You are correct MT.
I have also seen many women using the male bathroom when the female bathroom was way too busy in spirts stadium. They walk right in and use the cubicle. If one of those women had a male genitalia no one would know.

I really am not fibbing. When I was in basic training the drill sergeants had us naked for the entirety of the first night, so i've seen plenty of penises, so it's not that I am afraid to say i've seen a few penises. I just have never seen another one in a public restroom. Besides, in women's restrooms, there aren't any urinals, so i can't imagine how someone would see a penis on accident.

That incident was one person intentionally trying to cause a conflict. They may be trans, but that individual was intentionally trying to instigate. It's not something that is happing every day, across the country.

I would add, that I believe that most parents wouldn't often put their children in a situation where they are around strange adults that are naked. Regardless of their gender.

I don't, but I also think the sexualization of young children is a bad thing.

I am not. They have a penis, they should use the mens room.

If school teacher can use the same rest room as little boys, I have no problem with any religion members doing the same.

You'd have to ask them. How would I know? Lol

Would depend on if they had the surgery or not.

But I think we've landed on something that conservatives and gay men have in common, an obsession with penises. :hihi:
If they are surgically altered, then I don't have a problem.

I would say you are correct. Especially if penises are being shown to small children. Most normal people are against that.
