Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/17/sup...y-that-refuses-to-work-with-lgbt-couples.html

    • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
    • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

Same reason the government told us to we could not attend the funeral of a grandparent and you had to stay inside your home and your kids could not go to school during the 2 weeks to slow the covid virus from china, but if you wanted to gather with everyone for a BLM riot, then that was fine.
    You're not making any sense.

So you believe that the government is downplaying the threat of Monkeypox, and that we should all be more worried about it that the media will have us believe?

I think we've seen all kinds of data that outdoor events are less likely to spread the virus than indoor events, or spending time with family inside for a long time.

Almost everyone I know who caught it has been from a visiting relative, visiting friend, or office co-worker.

    No.
I think the left got super excited about monkey pox as a 'new covid style scare' but as it has been traced to a few bath houses and kink festivals and since the LGTBQ are a protected class with the media, it has and will continue to go away and be buried in the media.

What was that big political funeral they had during covid for a civil right activist/politician that was inside?

    No.

    Super excited?

Your perception of life and "the left" is hysterical. It's like a defense mechanism of your right wing extremism to believe that everybody else is as cynical, flawed, calculating and tyrannical as the right wing you support.

    No.

By that logic, shouldn't the left have also buried COVID, since it was traced back to China and they didn't want the "blame China" narrative?

    No.

I don't think anyone got excited about monkey pox.

The media has covered it, but just barely. Maybe if we can go a week without a mass shooting they will get excited about it, but we will see i guess.

I can see that from your side but my perception is from observing the 'left' in the last 5 years or so and yes, I have a very different political and cultural view than most. I freely admit that.

The media was pretty excited about it until it wasn't excited about it.

I know, there were like 5 mass shootings over memorial day weekend. It is beyond ridiculous.

I see neither Farb nor MTG (and apparently not Bill Maher) understand that not all functions are linear and have no idea what a Bell Curve is.

More lunacy in the name of 'progress'

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/bbc-changes-victims-statement-to-avoid-misgendering-her-rapist

“The woman reportedly told the BBC: ‘I was too young to argue and had been brainwashed by queer theory so he was a ‘woman’ even if every fiber of my being was screaming throughout, so I agreed to go home with him. He used physical force when I changed my mind upon seeing his penis and raped me,'” Mediate reported.

The same statement, as published by the BBC, reads: “[They] threatened to out me as a terf and risk my job if I refused to sleep with [them]. I was too young to argue and had been brainwashed by queer theory so [they were] a ‘woman’ even if every fiber of my being was screaming throughout so I agreed to go home with [them]. [They] used physical force when I changed my mind upon seeing [their] penis and raped me.”

At least the rapist view of himself is still intact, thank goodness.

I've noticed the trend of the right wing to try and divide of the LGBTQ community and turn them against each other with stories like this. That was a tactic the British perfected during its colonial era.

I never saw anything to suggest they were more excited about monkey pox than they were about Johnny depp.
