Many of Trump's endorsed candidates did not do well on Nov. 8th.

Gov. Ron DeSantis DID do well.
    He won convincingly.
Yet in this OP's opinion, Donald Trump is an egomaniac who is seemingly incapable of putting "Party over Self"
Trump has ZERO chance of being elected our next president.
In my opinion, if Trump would just shut up and go away (fat chance of that)...but "if" Trump did that, Gov. Ron DeSantis would have a CHANCE to be a formidable candidate for President in 2024.
Here is an interesting article on this topic...

What do any of you think re. Trump vs DeSantis?

Last question Cruz asked was did federal agents actively encourage violent or criminal conduct. Response: "Not to my knowledge." There you have it.
"Not to my knowledge," is acceptable to you? If she really doesn't know, I want someone who does know to say "Hell no!

    Or, I will withhold judgement.
Much of that video deals with Epps. They're not going to answer questions about specific people or cases that haven't been litigated. There's not anything in there the FBI was going to answer. Shouldn't be surprising tho.
Not all of it is about Epps. You can choose to completely ignore it because Epps name is mentioned, but that does not negate that the agent again would not answer.

You are welcome to accept that. I withhold judgement until they come clean, just as I said.

I disagree. But that's your prerogative. I've seen enough to know where the majority of the blame lies. The crowd already had all the motivation they needed without anyone telling them anything other than Trump and the Oath Keeper leaders stirring them up.

She is being asked to comment on an active FBI investigation. She will refuse to comment to any questions, as she should, because that is FBI and DOJ policy. Cruz knows that, he was just grandstanding to cater to the conspiracy theorists in the R Party.

Grandstanding is a good word for those kinds of things. They're there purely for scoring political points. Not a one of those questions by either Cruz or Hawley were serious.

But it accomplished its purpose, rope in the people who will believe just about any conspiracy theory around. Especially if it tickles their confirmation biases.

Since I've already given two condemnations on request, I'll let you have the next turn.

I pick rioting by ANTIFA and BLM during 2020.
After you cough up your documentation in general, and specifically of them blocking Congress from certifying an election. I really want to see the reports of the ANTIFA riots. :)

CHICAGO (AP) — Race has emerged as a central issue — and a delicate one — in the 2024 presidential contest as the GOP’s primary field features six candidates of color, making it the party’s most racially diverse ever.

Former Texas congressman Will Hurd, who was the only Black Republican in the House of Representatives during his final two years in office, launched his candidacy on Thursday.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who is of Cuban descent, entered the race last week, vowing to create a new brand of politics. He joined South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, the first Black senator in the South since Reconstruction. Nikki Haley, a former South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador, is of Indian descent, as is Vivek Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur who describes himself as “a cultural thought leader.”

Also in the race is Larry Elder, an African American raised in Los Angeles’South Central neighborhood who came to national attention as a candidate in the failed effort two years ago to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat.

The GOP candidates of color are considered underdogs in a field currently dominated by former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Yet the party’s increasingly diverse leadership, backed by evolving politics on issues such as immigration, suggest the GOP may have a real opportunity in 2024 to further weaken the Democrats’ grip on African Americans and Latinos.

Those groups have been among the most loyal segments of the Democratic coalition since Republican leaders fought against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The Republican presidential contenders of 2024 walk a fine line when addressing race with the GOP’s overwhelmingly white primary electorate.

In most cases, the diverse candidates in the Republican field play down the significance of their racial heritage.

They all deny the existence of systemic racism in the United States even while discussing their own personal experience with racial discrimination.

They oppose policies around policing, voting rights and educationthat are designed to benefit disadvantaged communities and combat structural racism…….

Still, the GOP’s diverse field is not ignoring race. Indeed, some candidates are making their race a central theme in their appeal to Republican primary voters even as they deny that people of color face systemic challenges.

Scott insisted that America is not a racist country in his recent announcement speech.

“We are not defined by the color of our skin. We are defined by the content of our character. And if anyone tells you anything different, they’re lying,” he said.

In her announcement video, Haley noted that she was raised in a small town in South Carolina as “the proud daughter of Indian immigrants — not black, not white, I was different.” Like Scott, she has defended the GOPagainst charges of racism.

“Some think our ideas are not just wrong, but racist and evil,” Haley said. “Nothing could be further from the truth.”

Elder is quick to criticize the Democrats’ “woke” agenda, Black Lives Matter and the notion of systemic racism.

Critics say such messages are actually designed to win over suburban white voters more than to attract voters of color.

But at a town hall meeting Ramaswamy hosted on the South Side of Chicago on a recent Friday afternoon, there were signs that some Black voters were open to the GOP’s new messengers, given their frustration with both political parties.…….

Donald Trump railed against a list of “villains” including electric vehicles (EVs), President Joe Biden and “radical left lunatics” as he delivered a speech in the battleground state of Michiganon Sunday night.

The former president spoke before 2,500 supporters at Oakland County GOP’s Lincoln Day Dinner, where he was honoured by the party as its “Man of the Decade”.…..

WASHINGTON — The idea is somewhere between conventional wisdom and an article of faith for Democrats: Joe Biden beat Donald Trump once, so he can do it again.

For Trump’s Republican primary challengers, most notably Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, that concept is a necessary predicate for convincing GOP voters to switch horses after nominating Trump twice.

But a new NBC News poll released Sunday showed Biden with a relatively narrow 49% to 45% lead over Trump — which falls within the survey’s margin of error and is far lower than the 10 percentage point edge Biden held in NBC’s last poll before the 2020 election. The new survey shows DeSantis, who is less known than Trump, tied with Biden at 47% each.

Despite an air of confidence from Biden and his team, some Democrats say they believe Trump has a very serious shot at winning back the Oval Office.

If you think otherwise, you have literally had your head buried in the sand,” said former Rep. Tim Ryan, Democrat of Ohio, who fell short in his bid to woo Trump-friendly voters to his side in a 2022 Senate race against JD Vance. “You’re living in a world of delusion. And it’s dangerous.”

I think former Representative Ryan goes a little too far. I don't consider any Democrats on here to be dangerously delusional.

I wonder how a Democrat tried to woo Trump-friendly voters to his side?

Kennedy arguably belongs in this thread. He’s being sponsored by Bannon and other Trumpers.

This is the kind of thing that makes me doubt that DeSantis has the proper mindset to serve as governor, let alone president. This article indicates that DeSantis may have been trying to head off a Biden talking point that he was using federal funds from some of the legislation that Biden helped pass in his first 2 years. So he kills the programs that will return money to FL residents. Just so wrong-headed. That federal tax money came from FL residents, too, they may as well see some of the benefits.

“This isn’t the first time a Florida governor has turned down federal funding. In 2011, Governor Rick Scott turned down $2 billion in infrastructure funding from the Obama Administration, but those funds required Florida to commit to a substantial sum of additional state money to pay the difference in the cost for a high-speed rail network, which Scott said (and subsequent news reports later confirmed) would cost billions more than those federal funds provided.

In this instance, though, the federal funds had no state encumbrances, and were set to be channeled by the little-known Florida Department of Energy overseen by Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson. Inquiries made by The Capitolistconfirmed that the Energy Department had contingency plans in place for the funds to be channeled into consumer-oriented programs including homeowner rebates for investments in smart-home thermostats and energy efficient appliances, ultimately returning the money directly into the pockets of Florida taxpayers to spend as they saw fit.

But now, with the vetoes, The Capitolist has obtained a trio of draft letters (below) to be sent to the Biden Administration from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) that confirm the state’s forfeiture of the funding and withdrawal from the block grant programs. The unsigned letters indicate DeSantis’s vetoes as the reason for the state’s formal withdrawal from the federal program.”

Joe makes a really good point here. There were Rs who spoke out against Trump early, but they were sparse and almost nobody else from the R ranks spoke up and supported them. They kept their heads down. Now, it’s too little too late. Early on, a growing number of people of integrity speaking out might have made a difference.

I'm not sure what you mean by "early." If opposing Trump is a sign of integrity, there was a whole clown car full of Republicans with Integrity as early as the 2016 primary. Now, in 2023, there are several opponents to Trump in the primary. Some of them really oppose Trump. Do they all have integrity?

The problem for all those Republicans who had the "integrity" to oppose Trump is that their own voters were sick of them by then. Tired of the rousing speeches about the border, gun rights, right-to-life, and spending cuts inevitably followed by them knuckling under to Democrats.

I get why Democrats like them, but that's why Republicans do not.

When did Joe Walsh knuckle under to Democrats?

Speaking out against a grifter, a conman and a liar who promises everything and only serves himself takes guts, especially when the rank and file is totally bamboozled. It would have helped if Rs had united to save the country from this conman. They didn’t have the courage.

When did Joe Walsh knuckle under to Democrats?
    From Wiki!

During his time in Congress, Walsh was criticized for his often personal attacks against members of the Democratic Party and, specifically, President Barack Obama. He accused the president of abandoning the U.S.–Israel alliance and bankrupting the country. Walsh maintained a no-compromise approach to legislating that included rejecting any tax increases. He consistently voted against raising the federal debt ceiling and authored a balanced budget amendment to the United States Constitution. Walsh rejected the scientific consensus on climate change and supported tougher border control. Later, during his presidential campaign, Walsh expressed regret for some of the comments and stances he made during his time in Congress.

I did not even remember that Joe Walsh had even run for president. How sad must his campaign have been?

As a result of redistricting following the 2010 United States Census, Walsh's district was redrawn by the Democratic-controlled Illinois General Assembly in 2012. While he initially planned to run in the newly drawn 14th district against fellow Republican Representative Randy Hultgren, he eventually decided to run in the remapped 8th district against Democratic candidate Tammy Duckworth. Walsh was defeated by Duckworth in the general election on November 6, 2012. After leaving office, Walsh began hosting a talk radio show. Though initially a strong supporter of Donald Trump, Walsh became increasingly critical of the president and, on August 25, 2019, he announced his presidential campaign in opposition to Trump. He dropped out of the race on February 7, 2020, after a poor showing in the Iowa caucus, and subsequently left the party.[1] He later endorsed and voted for Democratic nominee Joe Biden, who won the election.

He might as well become a Democrat. Weak-willed men are always welcome in that Party.

There were plenty of Reps who had the courage to speak out against Trump. If you haven't heard of them, that is because they immediately fell to obscurity.

Because in the U.S., the voters decide who is president, not some committee that judges people's integrity based on their opposition to Trump.

Former President Donald Trump is diverting more donations from political supporters to fund his mounting legal costs as multiple court cases put an increased strain on his resources.

Disclosure text on the Trump presidential campaign’s WinRed digital fundraising platform now specifies that 10 per cent of political contributions will go to his legal battles via the Save America PAC.……

Most of his donors will give even more if the find out that campaign donations can be used for his legal defense.

Just as I figured. Walsh is as conservative as it gets, and he stood up for his principles when he knew it would cost him politically. He recognized the threat to democracy that Trump poses, and acted on his loyalty to country over party. Wish we had more conservatives like him, and I don’t think I agree with him on one policy issue.

No committee judges people who support Trump, the majority of people in this country do. He is a grifter, just factually. Scam university, scam charity. Any other person would have been jailed before now for doing what he did even before he decided to run. There are plenty of people who went to jail for the kind of self-dealing he did with his fake charity alone.

And he is still, as far as I know, scamming his supporters with pre-checked boxes for recurring donations. We talked about it during the 2020 campaign, and I think there were some lawsuits filed over it. I tested it myself, and what they said was true. You could easily think you were making a one-time donation, and end up with a monthly recurring withdrawal. Came to light when a couple of elderly supporters lost everything they had, which wasn’t much to begin with.

Why does a billionaire need donations to cover his legal expenses anyway? Why take hard-earned money from the middle class to support your self-inflicted legal woes?
