Many of Trump's endorsed candidates did not do well on Nov. 8th.

Gov. Ron DeSantis DID do well.
    He won convincingly.
Yet in this OP's opinion, Donald Trump is an egomaniac who is seemingly incapable of putting "Party over Self"
Trump has ZERO chance of being elected our next president.
In my opinion, if Trump would just shut up and go away (fat chance of that)...but "if" Trump did that, Gov. Ron DeSantis would have a CHANCE to be a formidable candidate for President in 2024.
Here is an interesting article on this topic...

What do any of you think re. Trump vs DeSantis?

Alyssa Farah Griffin is maintaining her skepticism of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his future as a leader of the Republican Party. On Thursday's episode of "The View," the host bluntly predicted that he "will implode" when it really comes time to face Trump and his insults.

As part of their Hot Topics discussion on Thursday, the hosts got a laugh out of DeSantis shading the twice-impeached former president by saying "I don't spend my time trying to smear other Republicans." Joy Behar predicted that wouldn't last long, while host Ana Navarro mostly just brushed it off.

"To tell you the truth, I don't know if it's because I'm in Florida, and I get a daily dose of it, [but] I'm already so bored with this DeSantis-Trump fight," Navarro said. "I'm a lot more interested in a George Santos and Mitt Romney."

Alyssa Farah Griffin largely agreed, reiterating that as "Trump Lite," DeSantis really doesn't stand a chance of becoming the Republican nominee in 2024, should he decide to officially run for president. She added that, at this point, he feels "so overhyped," and likely won't be able to handle the insults Trump will inevitably hurl at him.

"I'm just going to be honest, I have seen Trump take out every mini version of Trump for the last five years," Farah Griffin said. "I think right now, you know, the party wants someone other than Trump. They want Trump Lite, so they're boosting and hyping DeSantis. He doesn't do national interviews. He's done nothing on the national stage. I think he will implode once Trump keeps going after him and going after him.".............

I love AFG. That is all.

Nikki is going to announce tomorrow in Charleston.

And here's a reminder of why she sucks:

If she hasn't decided what she wants to be yet by now, she sure as heck ain't getting my vote.

When the little fella from FL loses to Trump, every single one of these people that said they hate Trump will pull the lever for him in the general

And someone might want to tell Nikki where the popular vote totals are run up. Actually don’t. I whole heartedly support the R’s trying to win the popular vote. By all means spend as much time and resources in NY and CA as you can. In fact, don’t worry about the Midwest. Go to California. Have your convention in Silicon Valley.

This is so classic - it’s gloriously funny. She went to the mat for him twice! Both times he got impeached she defended him. Looked like a fool, sold out her credibility - and he’s already going all out on her just hours after her announcement.

Her judgment just sucks. He does it to them every time! 🤣

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Rev. Lowman Oliver marched for civil rights and racial equity across Florida in the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s, hoping to build a state he viewed as just and equal for Black Americans.

On Wednesday, long after the 75-year-old considered his marching days over, Oliver was back in front of Florida’s state Capitol with hundreds of Black leaders to deliver a stark warning about the man he believes is setting that progress back.

“I want people to know, be careful, because if he is doing it to us, he is going to do it to all other minorities,” said Oliver, the pastor emeritus at a predominantly Black church in suburban Orlando, referring to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. “We are better than what he represents, and I am talking about the American people.”

As DeSantis (R) gears up for a potential presidential run in 2024, Black activists and political strategists around the country are organizing, protesting and preparing to highlight the particular danger they say he and his anti-“woke” movement pose to civil rights and to their push to tackle racism as a systemic issue.

Some say they are determined not to repeat what they consider a tepid and belated response to former president Donald Trump’s rise in 2016, and argue that DeSantis’s political strategy is even more rooted in racial division than Trump’s.

These Black leaders view Florida’s recent rejection of an Advanced Placement African American history course as part of a pattern of dismissing their community’s concerns and enacting policy that threatens their rights. State officials denounced some of the AP curriculum on issues such as reparations and the Black Lives Matter movement, calling it “woke indoctrination.”

“I think a lot of people are recognizing that Donald Trump, yes, was a danger, but now they recognize that the way Ron DeSantis has been governing, and the way he was able to win two elections in Florida, it’s time to sound the alarm,” said Nina Smith, a Democratic strategist who is Black and was a senior adviser to Stacey Abrams’s unsuccessful campaign for governor in Georgia last year. Smith calls DeSantis “the evolution of Donald Trump,” the focal point of Democrats’ concern and opposition for so many years…….

It doesn't make you immature. It makes you a willfully ignorant hypocrite. You can cite the free press as an important check on the governor's office and then freely admit that you ignore the press, but that doesn't mean nobody can comment on the fact that it makes you an ignorant (for willfully ignoring anything negative) hypocrite (for claiming the negative press you ignore is so important for accountability).

I was just about to post something similar to above....how in the world can you have a reasonable conversation or debate with someone like this.....in short, you can't....it's simply not worth it and there are way too many folks just like him.....

What, you mean people who enthusiastically voted for Trump twice, and continued to support him as long as they thought he would/could win, who turned on him not because of his anti-democratic actions and policies but because he lost, but will still vote for him again when he wins the nomination?

I'm against those people as well.
If you think you are talking about me...you're mistaken.
I held my nose when I voted for Trump and I'm done with that.
If Trump is the GOP nominee in 2024 ( and he better not be)...but IF Trump is, I'll vote for a 3rd Party candidate.

and I'll take you at your word

But plenty of people said exactly that after 2016 who voted for him in 2020

And plenty more will say it now, but will vote for him in 2024 (they may vote for someone else in the primary but if Trump wins the nomination they'll vote for him in November)

so you are ok with others deciding for you?

You voting 3rd party isnt a form of objection- its abstaining from making a true choice between what is good for the country vs not good.

In fact, more people voted for Trump in 2020 than in 2016. Go figure.

I think you are correct. Thank you for taking me at my word. I am a man of my word.

I disagree. I am accountable to God for my vote. I am not voting for a Pro Choice Candidate and I am not voting for Trump....thus this means IF Trump was the nominee I would either stay home (which I do NOT want to do) or go out and vote for the third party candidate that came the closest to my views.

Yet I expect DeSantis to be the nominee and I expect to vote for him.
