Thought I would start a dedicated topic about her.
If anyone comes across info pertaining to her, feel free to post it here

Cheney did not crawl back, we’ll have to see if she actually has a spine.

I don't agree with a lot of Liz Cheney's politics, but she has tremendous integrity and a spine to the point that I would vote for her to represent me as my senator. Of course it depends on her opponent, but her integrity has huge appeal.

And no matter how this “pledge” was worded it was always code for “Will you publicly endorse/support federally indicted, sexual assaulting, insurrectionist Donald Trump when he wins the republican nomination for president of the United States?”

She knew who she’d have to agree to endorse, though, and that hasn’t changed. If changes in the leadership of the RNC, and how its allocating money, would finally be something egregious enough to change her mind, and not ALL the many other considerations when it comes to Trump, does it really matter?

I’d like to see Haley show some real backbone but that’s not how I see her lining up her next step. She’ll feign more outrage about socialism and give us some rendition of how much worse Biden and the Democrats will be for this country, and how she struggled with her decision but that endorsing Trump is her only option. Principled Republicans, who will reject Christian nationalism and fight for our democracy, are a rapidly diminishing group.

I do expect Haley to cave, because she is disingenuous, but I don't think Haley's endorsement will make much of a difference to most of her voters. The exit polls indicate that most of her voters won't support Trump. They may not vote, and some will vote for someone else, but I don't think many will vote for Trump no matter who Haley endorses. I think she has a better shot at convincing some of her voters to vote for Biden than to vote for Trump. The vast majority of those that vote for Trump were going to vote for him no matter who she endorses. She could have a big impact by making the case against Trump, because she has some credibility with many Republicans and right leaning independents. She should highlight:
- Thomas will retire if Trump wins to allow another far right judge to entrench the loss of abortion rights, and other rights.
- Trump will terminate the constitution, and he would control the organization that can enforce it.
- Trump will not leave office if there is any chance that a state can put him in jail. He'll spend 4 years setting it up.
- Trump will allow Russia to act with impunity, which endangers our economy and the stability of the world.
- Trump will violate the human rights of immigrants.
- Trump will encourage wiping out Gaza.
- Trump will eliminate more regulations that protect us. Forget about climate change.
- Trump will expand the wealth gap, which has been closing under Biden.
- Trump will undermine Obamacare.
- Trump will hire a MAGA cabinet that won't check him.
- Trump will probably withhold aid to states that didn't support him.
- Trump will politicize the Justice Department by going after his rivals, regardless of evidence.

Other concerns:
- Trump may assassinate his rivals. (See the Putin model.)
- Trump will not hesitate to change policies to enrich himself.
- Trump may have dementia.
- Trump may deploy the military to attack Americans that protest against him on U.S. soil. (See the Putin model.)

Upon the news that Nikki Haley would suspend her campaign, former president Donald Trump and President Joe Biden sent out dueling messages indicating what they thought about her voters.

Trump, for his part, said that Haley got “TROUNCED” on Super Tuesday, given that she lost every contest that night save for Vermont. He added that he “would further like to invite all of the Haley supporters to join the greatest movement in the history of our Nation” and called Biden “THE ENEMY.”

By contrast, Biden released a much more conciliatory statement. Directly addressing those who had voted for Haley, he said, “I want to be clear: There is a place for them in my campaign,” despite their differences.


In response, Haley campaign spokeswoman Olivia Perez-Cubas posted on X/Twitter “A tale of two statements”, showcasing both.

And when Lake — the failed Republican candidate for governor of Arizona-turned-candidate for Senate — tweeted calling Haley her birth name “Nimrata,” Haley’s communications director Nachama Soloveichik echoed the words of Meghan McCain when Lake trashed her late father, Senator John McCain: “No peace, b***.”

The end of primaries always expose raw feelings. Candidates and their staff often devote a great deal of time to their campaign away from their families and slogging it out on the road. Therefore, it’s often up to the victor to win over those who voted for their competitor. But Trump and his movement seem wholly uninterested in winning back those Haley-curious voters he needs to win.


Winning campaigns know they need to let the healing begin as soon as the primary ends. When Barack Obama beat Hillary Clinton, he knew he had a weakness with the white working-class voters who bolstered Clinton in places like Ohio.

That led to him picking Biden as his running mate. He also made sure to elevate Clinton on the campaign trail in an effort to win over female voters who felt disappointed.

In 1980, Ronald Reagan’s insurgent conservative campaign astutely made the genteel Texan George H W Bush his vice president as an olive branch to the old Republican establishment whom he had just conquered.

Trump shows no interest in diplomacy. Rather, he takes pleasure in the total dominance of his opponents. It has worked for him in the past.

In 2016, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Rand Paul bent the knee to Trump after he humiliated each of them in turn, mocking their height, their wife and their physical appearance respectively.

On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell — who called Trump “practically and morally responsible” for the riot on January 6 — endorsed him and he will exit Senate leadership at the end of the year…….

Yeah, unfortunately. I recently read an article that said when it comes down to it, the voters have a long, long tradition/history of eventually backing their party's nom, even if they don't like it. I wish I could find that article again b/c it went into details about why that is

Yet @brandon and @zztop ....never in US history have we had an insurrectionist, a nominee in multiple trials, and a so called "cult leader" on the November Presidential ballot.
I don't think you can predict this November's "party loyalty votes" based on past historical trends.
This November is sadly unprecedented. 0.25 out of 5 may be way underestimating people's disgust with Trump.
