You don't see a legitimate political reason for asking them to rethink their decision?
No I don't. Biden asked them to delay the cut until after the midterms. That would only help the Democrats in the mid terms. The Democrats set the standard for impeachment during Trumps term so they should expect Biden to be impeached as well.

I mean... the article spelled it out in plain terms. If you can't read, I can't help you.

Feel free to believe the spin from Kirby if you like. It doesn't change the fact that Biden got caught pressuring a Saudi Arabia to delay the OPEC cut to help Democrats for the midterms. Impeachment time.

Is the stated reason in the article- asking them to stop doing things that ease the burden of the Russian sanctions- a legitimate political reason?

You’re just wasting your time, Cuddles. He cannot think about this critically.

He cannot tell the difference between doing something that will help an important ally that is in a deadly war, which would also help democrats politically, and trying to extort an important ally to make up stuff about a political opponent in total opposition to America’s foreign policy interests.

In Biden’s case it just so happens that America’s strategic interests align with the act, it is coincidental that it might help in the midterms. If there were no midterms, Biden would still be asking for the delay, because the next month is critical for the war in Ukraine. Ukraine needs to take back as much land as they can before hard winter sets in.

In Trump’s case, the act benefited nobody except himself. His act actually worked against US strategic interests and illegally held up monies that had been properly allotted by Congress.

Only a straight up partisan hack cannot tell the difference here.

Spoken like a Democratic strategist. Look, the Democrats set the standard for impeachment. Now be prepared to deal with the consequences similar to when Harry Reid got rid of the filibuster for some judges.

SFL: address the points I made. Do you deny that any delay in the cut to oil production is in the interest of the US and Ukraine?

I don’t speak in Democratic talking points - it just so happens that this is the truth. There is a serious push right now from Ukraine to reclaim territory invaded by Russia. Russia is running out of money and manpower and supplies. Anything that can delay the help to Russia that happens when OPEC cuts production is going to help Ukraine regain ground before winter sets in.

The cuts don’t even take effect until sometime in November. The election is Nov. 8.

Just use your common sense here. Don’t listen to the partisan hacks you normally listen to. It’s not that hard to see that there is a strategic national interest in delaying the cuts to oil production. Not to mention it will help with the global inflation problem and during the delay maybe the US can apply enough pressure to the Saudis to get them to back off the cuts completely.

I truly think Rs have gone off the deep end here. It’s completely ridiculous to ignore all the national interest reasons for asking OPEC to delay.

I will repeat: even if there weren’t an election, the administration would be trying to delay the cut in oil production. Do you deny that?

Let’s look at this another way - say there is an action that is in the national interest and also of paramount importance to an important ally. Doing this action will possibly also help the political party in power - possibly. Do you think the administration should just throw up its hands? say oh, no, we can’t do this important thing now?

Come on, it’s a ridiculous premise.

Biden pressuring the Saudi's to push back the OPEC cut until after the midterms to help him politically sure sounds like impeachment material. According to the Democrat's standards, Biden's attempted quid pro quo are grounds for impeachment.

I want to explain to you the difference here, ok.

Do you want to know what Biden is dangling in front of the Saudi's to try, and make this happen?

President Biden is kicking off a process of reevaluating, and potentially altering, the U.S. relationship with Saudi Arabia following the announcement by a Saudi-led coalition that it would slash oil production, the White House said Tuesday.

I want to look at this in the worst way possible. Biden is doing this PURELY for political reasons to help Democrats win in the midterms.

You want to equate stabilizing the price of oil right before an election to Trump blackmailing Ukraine for dirt on Hunter Biden.

You may not understand why that sounds ridiculous, but it does.

Biden is doing this out in the open for one thing, and not behind close doors. That should be a big hint to you that you are wrong.

Of course, since you want to go down a conspiracy rabbit hole. Answer why the Saudi's timed this right before a U.S. election? Why did the Saudi's hand 2 billion over to Kushner? Why does Saudi Arabia own an entire floor at Trump Tower?

Why don't you look into that, and come back with your findings.

Edit to add: I don't know how bright the bulb is so let me tell you what is going on. On it's face what being communicated to Saudi Arabi. We know you are heavily bias towards Republicans, stop interfering with our elections or you lose military toys.

I personally think it's highly likely the administration plans on relaxing the sanctions of Venezuela, but doesn't want any political blacklash right before the election.

It's long past time that we should have told Saudi to frack off!!! That moment came for me in '96 after the bombing of Khobar Towers by Saudi militants. There was a prior bombing in Riyad which raised the alert in Dharan but the Saudis would not allow the US to expand its protection zone around the towers. From that point on we should have gotten the message from them that our services were no longer welcomed. We need to stop ALL support to them and prohibit defense contractors from doing business with them.

They want to use OPEC as weapon? We'll take away the shield we have provided for them and see how long that works out for them.

When you defend Biden or the Democrats you always use Democratic talking points. The Ukraine angle is a convenient excuse. I don't support the US proxy war with Russia through Ukraine. The Democrats blame EVERYTHING on Russia.

If Russia is running out of money and manpower, why were some here claiming we shouldn't back down over nuclear weapons because they would just take over more countries?

Are you allergic to actual debate? I've never actually seen you provide a coherent, topical answer to a question on here.

I don't have to answer questions how you want me to. If you keep complaining about me maybe you can get me suspended again like you did last time.

I don't recall getting anyone suspended. All I am saying is that your inability to engage in honest debate is quite apparent.

I didn’t even read the article, I have no idea what their talking points are. Anyone can surmise why trying to delay the cut is in our national interests, if you are just superficially following the war in Ukraine. And just because you don’t support the US helping Ukraine doesn‘t make any difference. It’s being supported in a pretty heavily bipartisan way which should tell you that this is generally recognized to be in our national interest.

I have a question for you - if Rs blame Biden for inflation (and they are) then does it make sense to impeach him over trying to get the Saudis to not do something that will add to inflation? It makes no sense.

Anyone who is trying to sell you this narrative thinks the people are stupid enough to buy it or they are just that stupid themselves. It’s a stupid premise.

Yeah I tried to reason with the guy. I'm fine granting that Biden wants Saudi Arabia to not cut oil production until after the elections as purely political. The problem with his analysis is the complete lack awareness of KSA's own political motivations. It was their attempt at a October Surprise.

An obvious one at that. The world's oil supply has been strained by multiple events and their decision is to cut production now??? Come on man! They are only fooling the willing with that BS.

Side note: The US really needs to realize The Kingdom is no longer an ally.

I don't support the US proxy war with Russia through Ukraine.

da, comrade.

we know.

And your last sentence is false. Dems dont blame EVERYTHING on Russia. For instance:

Insurrection? Trump.
Espionage? Trump
Undermining Democratic process? Trump again. ( for his own gain, but what is behind that "gain" - could be Russia but for sake of argument, lets leave it at just his own personal gain )

So yeah there are plenty of other issues NOT Russias fault. There are some really big ones, like disinfo peddlers on various platforms, and the folks who have half a brain can identify and compensate. Unfortunately there are plenty of 1/2 brain users out there, and here we are.
