It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

They need to throw somebody in jail until they comply with court orders.

A United States citizen was mistakenly looped into a Department of Homeland Security email that ordered her to self-deport from the U.S. “immediately.”

Nicole Micheroni, an immigration attorney and partner at the Massachusetts firm Cameron Micheroni & Silvia, was stunned by the official email Friday morning and initially believed it was intended for one of her clients.

“It took me a couple of minutes to realize it was sent to me instead of someone I represent,” Micheroni told the Boston Globe.

The notification was written simply in the subject line as “Notification of Termination of Parole” and did not state a client name or case number.

It has now materialized that the message was sent by mistake, the DHS confirmed.…….

Something my girlfriend mentioned that I didn’t even think of as a possibility

What if the Maryland father was killed in prison and Trump admin knows and that’s why it’s dragging its feet bringing him back?

And if that’s what happened and it’s confirmed what would the fallout from that be?

People keep saying that but the State Dept. official's declaration on Saturday (I think) said he was alive and that's sworn testimony upon specific demand by the district judge. That's textbook criminal perjury and civil contempt if he's dead. That's not a gray area - that's an immediate response from the judge and he's going to jail.

Why is the judge scared to order Kristi Noam, the director of ICE and any other top administration official that is responsible to appear in their court and answer directly under oath? And then issue contempt orders if the man is not returned to the US. This is all a bunch of bullshirt and the longer it plays out the worse it gets.

Because there's all kinds of caselaw about the interplay between the judiciary and the executive that keep her from doing that. She can demand that the United States provide sworn answers relevant to compliance with her order. She can hold a hearing and demand that the United States be present. Unless there's a very specific reason to the case AND the other side has asked for it (remember that judges aren't parties to the case and it's on the parties to litigate the issues), a judge can order a specific official appear but it's not as simple as "Get the DHS Secretary in my courtroom."

Part of the problem here is that the SCOTUS decision is squishy on key elements.

So, what kind of avenues can the plaintiffs pursue to get more clarity on the Supreme Court ruling?

so unless SCOTUS can figure out a way to force the Administration to uphold due process, they wont do it. Period. end of story.

Yeah, this conference is so contradictory to the Supreme Court's order - it's wild. The Court has to get more active.

President Donald Trump’s top advisers and Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, said Monday that they had no basis for the small Central American nation to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was wrongly deported there last month.

Trump administration officials emphasized that Abrego Garcia, who was sent to a notorious gang prison in El Salvador, was a citizen of that country and that the U.S. has no say in his future.

And Bukele, who has been a vital partner for the Trump administration in its deportation efforts, said he does not “have the power to return him to the United States.”

The Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration must “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s return.zzzszzs

Bukake is a member of a leftist guerilla party, FMLN, that I'm willing to bet has told tRump that he'll launder all the money he and his friends (ie Putin and ruskie oligarchs) need now and forever in exchange for not finding the body of Kilmar Garcia.
