It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

What is remedy? contempt? This is nuts.

" we read it differently"...?????

They don't usually go straight to contempt without a rule to show cause - but she could.

I think the part about what they're doing to comply with the SCOTUS case is reasonably debateable and it doesn't help anyone for her to go shooting off - and she knows that. But the part about where is he right now and not getting an answer is a problem.

If we take these DOJ lawyers at their word, the issue is that he's in the custody of the El Salvadorans and USA just doesn't know right now. That's absolutely forked up to the core but it's possible. She has to consider these realities.

which means we developed and executed a plan that did not have any safeguards for the possibility of some being wrongfully deported- including US Citizens.

Other than to say " Well El Salvador has em- ask them "

If this isnt quintessential Trump standard operating procedure ( Ready/FIRE/aim )....

That's what they're saying ("he's in the custody of a sovereign foreign power") - like WTF?

I’m reading that multiple US citizens, legal permanent residents holding green cards, and at least one Canadian who is in Canada got the same threatening notice as above. I’m also reading that the decision was made to let one on Musk’s stooges ‘automate’ the mass deportations.

They’re the people who catch rockets though, right? 🤭

(no, they actually are just some dipshirt kids who don’t know what they’re doing).

I wasn't talking about rogue death squads. The Einsatzgruppen were an actual unit of a couple 1000 volunteer Wehrmacht soldiers, under SS command, tasked with executing Jews, gypsies, Russians, after the Wehrmacht seized control of a town. They just rounded up people, took them to the outskirts of town, and shot them. The only processing the Einsatzgruppen did, was keeping typed records of the number of executions so the data could be relayed to Germany with date, location, number of executions, and the group the executed belonged to.
For a time, they even filmed the executions as they happened—until the tide of war turned against them. Then, suddenly, their priority shifted to erasing the evidence. That anyone could stand behind a camera, calmly documenting the brutal killing of children and infants, and still claim to be a rational human being, defies all understanding. It’s a level of moral detachment that borders on the inhuman.

And yet, we must ask difficult questions closer to home: how do the camps that the U.S. is currently deporting people to differ from the early German camps? Are we truly aware of what happens to those individuals once they’re out of sight? Does the U.S. government even know if everyone it has deported is still alive? When a system dehumanizes people to the point where their fate becomes irrelevant, history is not just being echoed—it’s being repeated.

We’re at the point of thought crimes already. This man holds a green card and is a lawful resident of the United States, married to a US citizen. Soon to be the father of a US citizen. Specifically targeted for organizing protests. No crimes have been alleged. He has already been in prison since March 8.

As I understand it, nobody is allowed inside that prison - no journalists, no independent person who can document conditions. Almost nobody there has been accused of criminal activity. At least one person was in the US with legal permission. Rounded up because they fit the profile - looked the part with their skin color - and had tattoos. Never mind that one was an autism awareness ribbon in honor of the person’s brother. Never mind that one person had crowns with Mom under one and Dad under the other. They have no release date - there is no sentence they must serve. They are permanently imprisoned, mostly without cause or for a misdemeanor.

Now Trump is going to try to send US citizens to the same prison if he decides they are bad enough.

How is this not getting perilously close to what the Nazis did? All that’s left is to have the prison fill up and the captors figure out they have to make room somehow for the new prisoners.

We have come a long way, the wrong way, from the ACLU suing to allow neo-Nazis to march in Skokie to covert anti-Semites deporting people for “anti-Semiticism”.

Deporting a permanent legal resident due to supposed “anti-Semitism”, telling universities what they can and cannot teach and say, going through private communications of tourists, and denying them entry to the US if they don’t like Trump. Taking over organizations that are supposed to be independent and are not part of the executive to control what they say and do, firing scientists who study things they don’t like, recalling previously awarded grants for things they don’t want to hear about.

Wait - I thought they couldn’t send any more people to the concentration camp in El Salvador?
