It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

No. I have said on a previous day and once again today that I do NOT support that.

Sure you do. You support Trump's actions by supporting his enablers. You vote GOP, and it's the GOP that fails to hold Trump accountable. Do you want Trump to be held accountable for his actions, yes or no?

Today I had time to debate all of you because I was off work. Tomorrow back to work. While I have your attention, there were people on these threads who told me TRUMP HAS DEMENTIA. or TRUMP HAS SUNDOWNERS. Clearly those people were wrong. Trump is fielding questions from the media all the time. Often it goes on and on and he answers them without the blank confused expression or glassy eyes I saw with Biden.

Please don't change the topic. This is a thread about deportations and immigration.

Do his answers make sense and are the truth?
This is a valid question. Thank you. I think more of his answers make sense than many of you would admit to. Yet I will admit that since Trump feels comfortable answering even when careful reflection would be best. ...sometimes his rapid fire answers are far from the best. Regarding the "truth". Possibly Trump tells "his truth" most of the time. I'm saying what he believes is true and what actually IS true might be 2 different things. There have been times when he said something and I rolled my eyes...but with the passage of time he ( to my surprise) turned out to be correct. Thank you for exchanging posts with me.

@DJ1BigTymer BigTymer you can chuckle all you want. That's all you CAN do. Conservatives have the upper hand and you are only able to be on the sidelines chuckling.

There is nothing but truth to this statement. I just hope you're still willing to own this in a couple of years when you and your ilk can't extinguish the dumpster fire you've started.

And as someone who projects himself as a Christian, I hope you do a little reflection or listen/read a little more from the New Testament and eventually repent for thinking of non-violent immigrants as anything other than fellow human beings needing some compassion and opportunity. I'm a deeply flawed person and will likely be right there with you, but I don't think you'll be passing through the Gates you think will when you time comes if you continue to forget how to treat other human beings.

He lies. Stop it.
You well know of Trump since he was bankrupting the USFL and the Taj Mahal Casino, yet making money out of bankruptcies, then having the audacity to "write" a book named "The Art of the Deal" (more like the art of he grift).

You very well know that he says things that are demonstrably false all the freaking time, and goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with what was asked. And that's when he's not playing 30 minutes of YMCA and Ave Maria to the dumbasses who would listen.

"Conservatives"? What are you conservating? There used to be a time when "conservative" encompassed a modicum of decency, decorum, scruples, dignity, ethics... now, what are "conservatives"? Anti-science religious zealots who trample over each other to serve their king and cater to his every whim.

and there it is folks- its not about his religion- its about power.

Power to enact agendas at the expense of everyone who doesnt agree.
Power to feel "accomplished" by being aligned with a group that currently holds the power.

Thats all he ever wanted. Its not about treating a fellow human with respect and dignity- its about power and control over people.

Damn, @SteveSBrickNJ i didnt think you would ever pull the curtain back on your true feelings like this for all to see.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is planning to increase its online monitoring initiatives to observe any negative sentiments people make online and collect information on individuals who make threats against ICE personnel or facilities.

Citing an “increased level of external threat activity” directed at senior leaders, personnel and facilities on social media and online posting, the agency put out a request for information back in November seeking companies who can help monitor comments online.

In a 15-page statement of objectives, ICE said it seeks a company that can scour social media, open-source online databases, the dark web and the deep web to find potential threats and identify them to the agency using geolocation, psychological profiles, facial recognition technology and more.

This means a person who is consistently making negative remarks about ICE on social media or posting about a specific person in immigration law enforcement can be monitored by the government agency...........

GOP and MAGA are gloating, crowing and gleeful about having the upper hand

Now

We'll see if they own it when things turn to shirt

I'm betting it will be more like:

"This is somehow the fault of DEI and liberal, woke, snowflakes who had nothing at all to do with this"

This is exactly why I said you support putting legal asylum seekers in Gitmo. You support shutting down food and medical aid to starving people overseas. You support shutting down an agency who keeps large financial institutions from cheating consumers.

You are NOT a conservative. You are someone who maybe used to be a conservative, but you haven’t remained true to those tenets, nor are you remaining true to the Christian tenets you say you support.

You have witnessed a very dark force take over the conservative movement in this country and you have followed right down that path.

History will not be kind to your ilk. You will at some point have to own what you are supporting.

I think the guy really aspires to be a troll, he's just not that clever. Otherwise, when someone's sympathies consistently line up with White Christian Nationalism, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

its possible- but i think he actually is a Christian Nationalist in the sense that he WANTS to espouse their beliefs

to "belong"

Handcuffed and shackled, the men appear in government propaganda photos being herded towards military cargo planes that will carry them to an uncertain future in an infamous land.

“These individuals are the worst of the worst that we have pulled off of our streets,” Donald Trump’s homeland security chief, Kristi Noem, thundered against the supposedly “criminal alien murderers, rapists, child predators and gangsters” being packed off to Guantánamo Bay.

In interviews and on social media, Noem alleged those being sent to the notorious US naval base in Cuba included South American “child pedophiles”, drug traffickers and “vicious gang members” guilty of “heinous crimes”.

But 10 days after the Trump administration began sending immigrants to Guantánamo, authorities have yet to provide proof of those claims as mystery continues to surround their identities and doubts grow over whether many have committed any crime at all.

“It sounds like this picture the government is painting of them being people who are dangerous and violent is patently false,” said Jessica Vosburgh, a senior staff attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights, which is part of a coalition of rights groups that this week sued the Trump administration for access to the Guantánamo detainees.

“It’s clear the folks who we suspect have been sent to Guantánamo are not, on the whole, dangerous people,” Vosburgh added, even if people in immigration detention “may have a mix of criminal backgrounds”.…….

Noem claimed in a interview that they would allow the prisoners legal representation, but when pressed for details she wouldn't elaborate. This whole thing is a charade IMO.

Where did Jesus say “…but verify their immigration status first”?
