It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

Trump's on the golf course bro.
On our dime and he's not alone.

So what kind of solution do you think they'll cook up when Camp Guantanamo get's overpopulated with people that they don't know what to do with?

Trump has ignored multiple laws to give the perception that he is "moving fast", when in fact, he has done nothing extraordinary because the majority of his actions are being stymied by the laws he's trying to circumvent.

I wouldn't necessarily frame it that way. Trump is doing a lot and he is moving fast. What he's doing is basically knee capping and breaking the federal government he's now in charge of. Which is why his supports like Steve are so giddy. He's doing all of it through executive action, much of it illegal that will get challenged in court and may be overturned. Yet to be determined.

The reason he's moving so fast is because his actions were already laid out for him by the Project 2025 handlers and they had all of the EO's ready to go. That they're moving so fast is also part of their strategy to basically blitzkrieg the opposition and stun them, which if you look at how Democratic politicians are responding, it's working. They're constantly being caught flat footed as if this wasn't already all known and laid out before the election.

Things are not looking great for America.

Well, we're only days into the administration and there's no way to preemptively challenge what Trump and his sycophants are doing. Those challenging the EOs had to wait until they were actually implemented or enforced, and then begin responding. The resignation letter went out last night. I'm not sure exactly how anyone can legally respond yet.

There's has already been some litigation filed. There certainly will be more and some of it will take some time to get fully litigated.

That said, I agree it's a blitz and responding won't happen overnight for the most part. It's terrible what they are doing, and hopefully the courts can remedy the brazen actions they're taking.

I think another side effect may well that the number of people attempting to enter the country without documents is reportedly way down. We aren’t flying them in any longer nor are there as many encounters along the border.

All done I might add without Congressional action. Immigration still needs reform but that is not longer an excuse to allow millions of undocumented migrants into the country.
You might want to look at the date that the number of people attempting to enter went down, Joe. It was almost a year ago now.

Trump so far hasn’t done anything outside of normal enforcement activities, number wise - as far as I can tell.

The only difference that is apparent is that rather than focusing on criminals, like Biden and Obama did, for deportation - Trump is just grabbing kids, women, etc. In other words - the easy pickings. This is exactly what he did his last term.

There is an article in The Atlantic that takes the position that none of this is truly Trump’s doing. He is necessary as the person in charge but the actual tools such as project 2025 are the work of those whose goal is to fundamentally alter government.

What those who voted for Triump or Trump’s enablers fail to understand is the law of unintended consequences. The rain will fall on the just and unjust alike. That means those who hated trans kids, those who complained about the price of eggs, those who raged about immigrants will see upheaval in their lives. The wealthy will not. They have the cushion of wealth and to varying degrees access to tools to limit that upheaval. The average person will not. And that includes millions who voted for Trump based upon emotional triggers.

I recommend that we all screenshot and pass it along to everyone that is deemed a risk of deportation #knowyourrights

Yup, the guardrails are going to be tested sooner rather than later, I hope they hold up....

this does not work anymore. hell, they arrested an American veteran without a warrant. the law does not matter to trump period.
Just saw a video yesterday of someone in the central valley in California that ICE showed up to their house looking for the young ladies uncle and she kept speaking to the ice agent through the screen door and she kept telling him without a warrant signed by a judge you’re not coming in and lo and behold they didn’t go in

Do you think that is always going to work? ICE has a lot more freedom to stuff than cops do they can break laws often and never get in trouble. it's going to get worse. They know trump will back them 100% so its going be a lot of law breaking and no one will stop them.

I’m sure you’re right, and I know it’s gonna get worse before it gets better however, I am pointing out one case that did go in the way of the law, the way it was intended .
