This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

about the "not interested in facts" part. This is why I like to try to find the material straight from the source

    example:

Luther is running for House District 62, a Sherman-area seat, where she’s challenging Republican incumbent Rep. Reggie Smith in the March primary. She previously ran for Texas Senate.

    ---
    there is also this:

During the hearing Wednesday, teacher Matt Bockenfeld noted that his class was “learning about the rise of fascism and the rise of Nazism right now,” adding: “I’m just not neutral on the political ideology of fascism. We condemn it, and we condemn it in full.”

The purpose, he said, is to help students “recognize it and combat it. That is why we learn: To use history to make a better world.”

Republican Sen. Scott Baldwin responded: “We need to be impartial.”

    video of the exchange here:

Yeah she is a piece of work. A salon owner that was locked up for refusing to close during the beginning of the pandemic. And a wedding singer in case someone is looking for a trumpy act for the big day.

What qualifies to run for office is an absolute joke. No matter what party I was for wouldn't vote for someone that can't get stuff done unless she is giving highlights to the others what is she good for.

Why send someone for sound bites and hot takes they need to work.

”Steve” and “John” cold be real humans. Ooorrrrr…they could be fake accounts set up by troll farms.

Either way I don’t care. Spewing the same old bullschlitz is a waste of bandwidth.
Haha Haha. My posts were quite lengthy and I have a unique posting style. Lots of dots .....😁 How could the word "fake" or "troll" be applicable? The Democratic President is a disaster and the Squad led left wingers are leading their less famous colleagues into sure losses this November. I said I was done....and I am. I just couldn't resist laughing at the thought that I potentially was fake.

I don't know, when you first got here I wandered around briefly with the thought that maybe when you were filling out the registration form to join the board on your phone that you were waiting for a pitcher of beer to be delivered to your table at Steve's Brick Oven Pizza in Somerset NJ.

That maybe your user name was born awaiting the convenience of beer.

    ;)

    I'm glad you came back.

Do you believe that Donald Trump is capable of putting what is best for the United States ahead of what is best for Donald Trump?

I appreciated the post by @SamAndreas . If there were more like him I'd stay.
samiam5211 is just an example of why this is my very final post.
I've stated over and over again that I do not like Donald Trump. Back when he was unfortunately elected I was hoping someone else in the Republican Party would get elected....but amazingly my fellow Republicans chose him. Now in 2024 I still hope the Republican Party chooses someone else. Gosh, how many different ways do I have to word it!? Some people are so Trump focused that they can't understand clear English even though it is articulated numerous times.
I will possibly come back in November and repost my prediction.
For those who need a refresher, that prediction is as follows:
AOC and the squad will all get re-elected.
They are media stars and the people who vote for them in their home districts recognize that.....they value that.
BUT.........................there are MANY of their Democratic colleagues who are NOT STARS....not well known. These folks are being pulled down in the polls by the squad and by President Biden's poor approval ratings. Many House of Representatives Democrats will NOT be re-elected. The November midterms will swing greatly toward the Republican side of the aisle.
    Quick Recap:
    #1 I don't like Trump
#2 I want a non polarizing Conservative who is NOT Trump
#3 The Democratic Party will suffer big losses in November.

    OK....I'm done posting until November.
    See ya then.
(Sorry to those posters who were not Trump fixated. Again, if there were more of you I might have stuck around)

But there are more here like me...

If you can't see a way to come back until November, I guess November it will be.

I didn’t ask if you liked Donald Trump.

Steve, I’m sorry you won’t stay and explain your convictions. I don’t think samiam is out of line asking about Trump though, because in one of your first posts you said you would vote for him again in 2024 if he is the nominee.

People who think Trump has done epic damage to this country and is possibly the most corrupt individual ever elected president would certainly take interest in your justification for voting to give him another chance without even knowing who he would be running against.

We do understand he wouldn’t be your first choice. I guess I’m just stuck on your idea that he would be fit to govern again under any circumstances. That would require some explanation that I would be interested in hearing.

I’ve never been a party person, I was raised to vote for the individual candidate you think would do the best job for the country. I’ve only voted a straight party ticket one time in my life, and that was 2020, because I cannot stomach the way it seems that the entire GOP has betrayed their principles to toady to Trump.

I was very upset that Trump won, because of the way he spoke and acted as a candidate. It was very clear to me that he wasn’t a serious person, his behavior is that of a blustering, childish, middle school bully. I was okay with a few of his Cabinet appts, who I knew were serious people. Dan Coates and Gen Mattis mainly. Didn’t know enough about some, and others were clearly not qualified. But all in all, I was hopeful that party regulars would control his basest instincts. How naive I was. Wow. The end of his presidency was far worse than I could have imagined.

As for being “Trump fixated” you must understand that this is the worst case of attempted election corruption we have ever seen in the US. The attempt to change the outcome of the election after the fact is unprecedented. Just imagine how you would feel had it been done by democrats. Would you be so willing to let it go? I doubt it.

So that is my story. I would be interested in hearing yours.

The only problem with this is 90% of the republican party is now eating out of Trump's hand, and the 10% that don't are being pushed out and called RINOS (like Liz Cheney) so... I don't know how #2 will ever happen. It'll just be more that take a page from trump playbook/antics from here on out

You brought up something that connects to something else. The Trump base are the Rinos, but they call the Elephants, the Rinos, while insisting they are the "real Elephants."

It's a disconnect that causes me to think of this song. In it you will see that the Trump base are actually the Rinos, while the Elephants actually are the Elephants.

Well I will ask again so you get one more time to explain the pre trump republican approval of the Trump accomplishments and what you actually thought they were.

    You said

Once he got in office I liked the policies and the results he got here at home as well as interntionally...

You can tell that was you by all the friggin..................

Just give your nuts a tug and explain at least one of each you thought was good for us as a nation.

Not asking for the world just you know political talk.

Well that was incredibly improved over some of the bitter Trump stuff that was thrown my way. You have come across to me as much more likeable and reasonable. I am not supposed to be judgmental and I apologize for being so rough on you. I just don't like answering all the questions that people have for me. That IS SO disappointing I am sure. Thank you for your excellent post. "See you" in November.

Of course, if asked these questions they’ll just refuse to appear on the programs
    ===========================

When less-crazed Republicans appear on mainstream news programs, interviewers have a golden opportunity to hold them and their party responsible for enabling a violent insurrection and continuing to support an unhinged authoritarian cult leader.

Sadly, the media routinely fails to complete this essential task, contributing to the GOP’s threat to democracy.

Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), appearing on ABC News’s “This Week” on Sunday, acknowledged: “The election was fair, as fair as we have seen. We simply did not win the election, as Republicans, for the presidency.”

He added that “we have to refocus once again on what it’s going to take to win the presidency.” When asked if he would support the former defeated president in 2024, Rounds responded, “Personally, what I have told people is, is I’m going to support the Republican nominee to be president.”

He also conceded that everyone including the former nominee is “subject to the courts of this country.”

Rounds should never have been able to escape the interview without answering some fundamental questions:

    • How can you remain in a party in which virtually all your colleagues lie or remain silent about Jan. 6?

    • How could you possibly support for president someone who lied about the election and sparked an insurrection?

    • How can we trust Republicans to allow a peaceful transfer of power in 2024 if so many of them still won’t recognize they lost? How can the GOP claim to be a pro-democracy party?

    • When members of Congress lie to the public and try to delegitimize the election, are they violating their oath? Are they fit to run for office?……

But the GOP is doing none of that. The party continues to pay fealty to the author of the big lie, and it refuses to accept this was a violation of the fundamental principle of democracy — that the loser consents to the peaceful transfer of power.

So again, Hutchinson should have to justify his continued participation in an authoritarian cult. He should explain:

    • If a Republican will not acknowledge the truth about Jan. 6, how could you support him or her?

    • Dozens of people in the GOP have lied or tried to diminish Jan. 6. Why are they still in office? Should they leave? Would you support challengers?

    • Since Republicans refused to recognize the legitimacy of the 2020 election, why should we not implement electoral protections so that a nonviolent coup does not take place in 2024 or beyond?

    • Do you oppose measures that would put partisan Republicans in charge of election administration, thereby paving the way for chaos and election subversion?……

Length is irrelevant. Troll farms simply troll. As for the alleged disaster please provide evidence as well as any possible definition of disaster that applies. Maybe a chart showing a comparison between Biden and Trump would be of use.

Finally, you’re done after 11 posts?

    He's done until "November".

That means that he's hoping to come back and gloat after the Republican's take back the legislative branch.

It's akin to a Falcons fan popping into the Saints forum to troll after a game.

Lol. As we've seen here with @SteveSBrickNJ, every time you ask a Republicans a tough question or ask them to explain their positions and reasoning, they run for the hills and avoid them. They can easily go back into their information and conformation bubbles and not have to answers those mean questions by the rabid Democrats/liberals/media.

They don't want to be questioned, at all! They just want to have their beliefs and for you to accept them on face value and equal to all else without question, no matter how contradictory. And the only questions Republican voters ask Republican politicians is why aren't they owning the libs more or taking more radical stances. So there's no accountability or price to pay.
