This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

I know it’s hard to fathom respect for someone you don’t agree with.
Why would you ever respect anyone in the government that pushes for war to enrich the military industrial complex while using our US military as pawns?

Please explain what good qualities Liz Cheney has.
I literally replied to your first post on this nonsense with “they don’t”, but you keep trying to force me into some corner to defend Liz Cheney. You stated liberals love Liz Cheney, and I said they don’t. “I don’t agree with a single thing she stands for, but I can appreciate her standing her ground in the face of all the blowback” is a perfectly valid way to feel, and in no way translates into “love”. I’m not going to die on some “Liz Cheney is great” hill because you want me to. Sorry to disagree with what you were told to think, see you at your next outrage.

It’s funny how liberals all of a sudden love Liz Cheney who is in the pocket of the military industrial complex like her dad.
I'm not a liberal. You just presume I'm one because I recognize the danger Trump poses to this country. You would probably realize I wasn't a liberal if you actually engaged in meaningful dialogue about serious topics rather than the tabloid nonsense you obsess over.

Other than her anti-Trump stance I know nothing about her. My favorite woman candidate was Amy Klobuchar. She seemed real and not pandering to the voters. I also like the governor of my state Larry Hogan. He won the governorship in perennial blue state Maryland, balanced the budget, and the state now has a surplus of money that the left wingers are dying to spend. I hope he runs for POTUS.
Cheney is pretty much an extension of her father in most every appreciable way. Guys like Hogan and Sununu are solid choices, imo, but unfortunately -- much like Cheney -- have zero chance of winning a GOP primary.

    A Sununu snippet for you:

When this man is the odds on favorite to be the next U.S. Senator for the State of Ohio, why would any reasonable person wonder why I'm compelled to vote for Democrats?

Fundamentalist Evangelicals that run for office can be scary. Not, all are like that; some are the salt of the Earth,

However, on the left you have those that see anti-racism and wokeness as religion. They can also be quite scary. Any religion taking to the extreme (wether based on a deity or a political cause) can be very dangerous.

    I like this Sununu guy!
He's definitely not my ideal (because sadly I believe he supported Trump's reelection but not sure where he stands after January 6th) but I would gladly vote for him to be President so the power dynamic in the national GOP would be forced to shift.

I like his libertarian view. He is from NH, no wonder!

This is the logical extension of its precursor:
