This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

If Biden runs against Trump, I maintain that the only vote in support of the United States of America is one for Biden.
QFT. I'll go further, anyone voting for ANY Republican is voting against America. Republicans have shown us exactly who they are and what they stand for time and time again. The only difference now is that trump has given them the courage to say the quiet parts out loud. Republicans don't give a damn about the truth, fairness, hypocrisy or the rule of law. I can no longer refer to our country as the USA because we are not united. We are united in name only. The country is under attack from the inside. Those who choose to stand on principles....well those principles won't help you when they finally come for you.

Well, the prosecution unrests because you edited the post to include these videos. I watched both in their entirety.

The Tulsi video was boilerplate that literally any politician from any side of the aisle not named Donald Trump would say.

The Manchin video didn't really tell me anything I didn't know.

Tulsi and Manchin are two of my least favorite Dems, right up there with Sinema. Yet, I would vote for any of them over Trump.

There are also plenty of Republicans I would vote for over Trump, if I were to vote in a Republican primary. In fact, I would vote for any Republican over Trump. I would be open to Kinzinger. I'd hate DeSantis. But I'd vote for either one if it meant Trump didn't get elected.

I would vote for any Democrat, Republican, or Independent over Trump. If there is an election and Trump is on the ballot, I will vote for the other guy. If there is a third party, I will vote for the person who makes it most likely that Trump will lose.

That is the only acceptable position in 2024 if Trump is running.

Nice dodge. Democrats would vote for Biden again in a heartbeat against Trump. Would you?

I could go on, but I rather spend my time doing something else.
Democrat Political Power Brokers don't want Biden to run.
Regular democratic citizens/voters don't want Biden to run.
If Democrats wouldn't re elect Jimmy Carter.....imagine what a landslide lose Biden would suffer?
You and @brandon are out of touch with reality.

I would argue that you're out of touch with reality.

If you recognized the very real existential threat that Trump posed to American democracy, you'd do what it took to get him out of office. Even if that meant voting for AOC for president.

When she gives you the terrible evils of universal healthcare and free tuition, you can feel free to vote her out on the next cycle.

Yet IF I vote for a candidate that is unacceptable to me just so "the lesser of 2 evils has a better chance of winning"...then I lose my right to complain about that person because others will say: "Well YOU voted for Biden....or YOU voted for Trump...so... It's your own fault".

This is entirely the wrong way of looking at it. In fact, it should be that we are able to vote for somebody, based on the choice in front of us, and for whatever reasons are important to us, and still hold that person up to scrutiny. People need to quit looking at a vote, made under the circumstances at the time of the decision, as some kind of loyalty-bound commitment.

If the election where between Trump and DeSantis for president, I would leave this country! Both are autocratic want-to-be dictators, but DeSantis has slightly more mental capacity. Which make him even more dangerous than Trump if he's able to solicit the same radical fanboy adherence that Trump has had these last 6 years. And by all indication, he's right on track to take up that mantle.

God would need to truly be real and really need to help us if DeSantis ever becomes our president.

I'm sure no one has the time or desire to open and read all the threads I've posted today.

" Now that the New York Times has signaled its approval for Democrats to say out loud that they don't want President Biden to run for re-election in 2024, the FLOODGATES ARE OPEN. EVERYWHERE YOU TURN THERE IS SUDDENLY A DEM willing to declare that Very Old Joe is way over his head".

The New York Post is not exactly Fox News.
Those are the words of the New York Post. Edit....@brandon has taught me that my assumption that the New York Post is liberal is incorrect. I'm grateful for him setting me straight.
    @MT15
No one will be voting for Biden "in a heartbeat" vs Trump....because
Trump won't be representing the GOP and Biden won't be representing the Dems.
Eventually all of you will have to accept that Steve has been correct for months.
Now I've provided numerous links that are not conservative media.
Yet you won't accept the reality.
Of course what I've said will come true....then I'll quote my prediction posts in the future and say: "told you so".
    LOL :hahar::hahar::hahar:
That's totally immature of me....but I'll do it anyway.

Now I'm going to watch Wimbledon.
    Bye.

I'll just say if it's between Trump and Biden, Biden is the easy choice. But really, I'd rather a younger Democrat. Heck, I'm no fan of AOC, but I'd vote for her, lol.

Tammy Duckworth would get my vote, she is an amazing person and does not come from a privileged background….ex-military, a fighter, she would horrify Repugs…..

Yup, this is where I am as well…..

Honestly, if more people just admitted when I was right, the world would be a better place.

    ;)
When the summer of 2024 is over, and the GOP and the DNC have announced their candidates for Nov. 2024.....will YOU admit that in the Spring of 2022 and then again today...I said that neither Trump or Biden will be those candidates? Will YOU admit it when I'm proven correct?

I don’t remember anyone here saying they are sure that Biden will be the nominee. Brandon can correct me if I’m wrong about that.
