This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

    Dear madaboutpolitics.com moderator(s)
Are poster's on this forum welcome to post quotes from Jesus on this thread or any thread?
If you had joined the main board like I suggested you do, you would know that DavidXA is both a staff member and a moderator.
So your question to a moderator has already been asked and answered by a staff moderator. He has said to you:

"I don't really see that at all. Examples?"

From watching your posting here I do think you're an asset as a member here and would be that there. That you would enjoy yourself at the main board in the Everything Else forum, so I will make that suggestion to you again.

    Maybe this time.

    :)

Posters on the left have posted quoted verses from the bible. Usually as a retort to something asinine a Christian said, but none the less you can post it.

Other people challenging, mocking or being indifferent to the post/quote is not the same as it not being allowed or removed by a moderator.

I mean 50% of Facebook is bible verses and praise Jesus, so that's not really going on anywhere.

Steve-you don’t generally just make stuff up. Which surprises me that you would do so this time. Be honest - you have nothing to back up your really outlandish claim that Christian quotes, and ONLY Christian quotes would be suppressed by mods on this board. That’s just some sort of fantasy.

Just face it - Christians are not being discriminated against in this country. That’s an absurd idea.

Christo-fascist is a descriptive term, not an actual organization. There are increasing numbers of them, however, who just outright want to legislate their religious beliefs and have them apply to everyone. They are akin to the Taliban - they are extremists who do not actually follow Christian ideology.

I never heard of Christian Fascists or Christians wanting to take away rights.
Usually it is the rights of Christians that are suppressed. Let's use madaboutpolitics as an example.
I would venture a guess that if I was trying to make a point on here and I quoted something Confucius said I bet the moderators on here would let it go.
If I was trying to make a point in a back and forth debate on here and I quoted Mahatma Gandhi to back up my claim, the moderators would likely leave it up.
Yet if I were go into the Bible and quote Jesus......wow! A bunch of you would flag my post and it would be removed. Confucius and Gandhi are ok but Jesus is not.
Probably you never thought of it that way before.
I just thought it might be useful for me to point that out.

@DaveXA ...I've come back to my post to point out that above and below here I've included examples.
My other favorite sites are the same.
I could not quote Bible verses on wdwmagic.com or Tripadvisor.com
Thread posters are free to find fringe group and call them fascists.
Maybe someone in the legal dept. will get nervous and take it down...but only "maybe"... and only because I pointed it out.
Let's face it...Anything said about Islam would IMMEDIATELY be taken down here.
Imagine if someone posted about "Islamic Fascists" on here?
I don't think that would be left up...it would be removed.
That's just the way it is.
I've spoken in clear English and I have no desire to engage on this topic anymore.
I'm sure people will quote me and have their say.
Yet, I've had my say. I will not post on this topic again.

I don't think you grasp what a "right" actually is.

Posting here is a privilege, not a right. This is a private forum owned by a private individual. This individual is allowed to determine who does or does not get to post here. As a private individual, they are under no obligation to provide a platform for anyone.

I would push back on Christians are discriminated against. I've seen it and personally experienced it. But I wouldn't say it's close to as common as some people like to think.

I would agree other minorities and religious groups face far more discrimination than your average Christian in the US.

I don’t seem to understand why it’s a shock that the Republicans will campaign on the economy (not gun control). Are we expecting the Democrats to run on the economy? Are we expecting the Falcons to advertise Marcus Marriota as the new hope? Or, the crypto community to run Cumrocket as the crypto to get behind?

Better read up on history, then.

or Christians wanting to take away rights.
Christians literally just took away the right to abortion. They stood in the way of marriage equality and stand in the way of transgender rights. Many slave owners were Christians and used the Bible as a justification for why. In fact, the Southern Baptist Convention was founded because of the desire of Southern Baptists to keep their slaves.

So yea. Christians don't have a great track record with supporting rights for non-Christians.

Yet if I were go into the Bible and quote Jesus......wow! A bunch of you would flag my post and it would be removed.

    Let's test that theory.
    Jesus said:
‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far away from Me.” 9 ‘But in vain do they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’” –Matthew 15:8-9

The bible was also used as justification for instituting and upholding anti-miscegenation laws.
